Archiatric | My Modern Met
Using Architecture To Explain Mental Illnesses And Disorders.
by the Imaginative Italian illustrator and architect Federico Babina
Artist – Federico Babina
...illustrates mental illness in his series “Archiatric”. 16 drawings visually represent an array of the mental illnesses that affect millions daily.
“I don’t want to put a romantic aura around the discomfort and suffering of mental illness,” Babina explains, “but rather to make a reflection on the prejudices and negative stigmas with which the pathologies of the mind are often observed.”
Using simple lines to send a clear message, the artist elegantly depicts different disorders. Each embedded in a solitary house that symbolizes a mental environment.
