Elementary episode: 5x16
I am still salty about the fact that when Joan first meets Archie, the little dude is wrapped in a blankie with bees on it, but he has a different one when he meets Sherlock. That is such a tragedy to me.
Venturing into Elementary fanfiction now..... I've actually had a couple different ideas for a while but I've been mostly staying in the Marvel and Harry Potter sandboxes (they're separate, they stay separate, that's how I roll) but anyway, I wrote a bit tonight.
Sherlock sat on the sofa, eyeing the two boys. Archie and Arthur, age 6 and 2, stared back from the chairs they were sitting in. "Your mothers will be back shortly."
They looked at each other and grinned at him.
"Your mothers have entrusted me to make sure you stay alive until they return." He told them, sternly.
"Is that why we're tied to the chairs?" Archie asked.
"No, you are tied to the chairs to see how long it takes you to untie yourselves. After that, we'll do another lesson."
"What if it takes a long time?" Archie gasped, "What if we have to pee?"
"Then you'll hold it until you're untied." Sherlock had decided to start the boys' education since Joan and Kitty had decided he could be left alone with them for an hour.
"I can't!" Arthur shouted. He wiggled against the fabric ties holding him in place. "Can't hold it!"
Archie sighed. "You didn't even have to go until I asked Uncle Sherlock what would happen."
"Yeah huh!" Arthur shouted again.
Archie sent Sherlock a look of exasperation. "He's such a baby sometimes."
Should I continue???
I finished watching Elementary the other day and I am not over how much Sherlock loves Arthur and Archie from the moment he’s told of their existance.
Things I need to see in fics now
Sherlock and Arthur bonding
Sherlock going to all of Joan's doctor appointments
Joan worrying about herself
Joan worrying about ARTHUR
Kitty visiting with Archie so he can meet "cousin Arthur"
Sherlock doing random experiments in the basement when Arthur is supossed to be sleeping but Arthur wakes up because its loud
Sherlock seeking Gregson out to get advice on how to deal with this situation
Joan making Sherlock get another fridge so his experiments arent next to Arthur's food
Marcus and his fam stopping by to bring Joan dinner but she just gets irritated that no one thinks she can take care of herself
POST SHOW FICSSS
Sherlock heavily judging all of Arthur's college choices
Sherlock telling Joan he relasped
Marcus trying to hide cases from them while Joan is sick
Sherlock mother henning Joan so she starts hiding from him
FAMILY OUTINGS (in the begining where Arthur is still getting to know Sherlock)
Sherlock sitting with Arthur in the hospital
Sherlock pro-giving Arthur a phone at a young age bc they can track him and Joan anti-phone because of all the social factors
Sherlock learning to live with Joan's staff always in the house
Fics where its a complimation of all the times Rose or the PA almost ruined one of Sherlock's experiments or walked in on it in action
Somebody gets arrested and the others have to bail them out
7x01 The Further Adventures Sherlock Holmes & Archie Winter
“So young man,
A large vanilla cone for you and an additional one for myself.” Sherlock handed his godchild an ice cream about the size of the child’s head before taking his hand and leading him to a small bench at which they could sit, enjoy their treat, and await his mother’s return from doing Sherlock’s bidding. Archie began eating his ice cream as any child would: face first and voraciously. Sherlock on the other hand, approached his task in the same manner that he approached everything else. Lick. “You know Archie, you may be of some use to us in our current case. There’s a bad man thats done bad things and we think you can help us catch him and prevent him from doing more bad things. Would you care to help,” asked Sherlock, arching his eyebrow towards the boy. “Besides, I’ve already paid you for your services with the ice cream thats running down your chin.”
Archie giggled and nodded his head, his current task too important to break away for conversation.
“Very well. Thus begin the further Adventures of Detective Archie Winter and his apprentice Sherlock Holmes. Detective, three days ago a woman was attacked. The assailant approached the victim on foot, took her favorite duckie, which she was playing with at the time, threw water on her face, and fled the scene on his bike. Whatever should be our first step?”
Archie thought for a moment before saying with a mouth full of cone, “We bobo?”
“Qui bono, very good. However, I daresay that there isn’t much evidence to go on at present. I suggest that we locate the perpetrator’s means of conveyance. We need to find his bike. We find his bike and are very surprised to learn that he, or she, has abandoned his bike, along with the girl’s duckie, at the park next to the slide. This, of course, suggests that the theft of the duck was a misdirection. Alas, here is your mother. We’ll solve this another time. As always, our adventures are a secret.”
@angelfireeast you are best person thank you so much! 💛💛💛 I like to imagine Kitty falls in love with a woman and they marry and live in New York and Archie is able to visit the brownstone a LOT more. Imagine the first time Sherlock and Joan take him to a non-murder crime scene and how they delight in teaching him stuff. (When he's at least 8 or 9). And yes I like to imagine Joan and Sherlock never really age much and solve crimes indefinitely shhhh
