Dimmesdale's Request to Hester

townsman 1: Who is that on the scaffold?

townsman 2: Mistress Hester Prynne! You won't believe what shame she has brought to Dimmesdale's church. She committed adultery!

townsman 1: And is that... her baby born of sin?

townsman 2: It sure is. Although, her punishment is only to stand on the scaffold and wear that "A" on her chest for the rest of her life.

townsman 1: I see. I sure hope they find out who the father is though. He must be named!

Minister Wilson: Yo Dimmesdale, you gotta convince her to reveal the name of the daddy. You are the head of the church after all.

Me (Dimmesdale): Oh Hester Prynne.. I challenge you to tell me who your partner in crime is! Y'know you shouldn't just keep him a secret because of your kindness. If he stood right beside you, it might feel better than if he were to hold this guilt in his heart for all of eternity!

Minister Wilson: Woman! Just say the name already! We know you did it for crying out loud!

Hester Prynne: Never!

townsman 3: Speak already! Call him out and give your child a father!

Hester Prynne: I will not! My child will only have her Heavenly Father and nothing more!
