So glad we finally had a more than pleasant Christmas with my mom's side of the family! This is all due to the fact that my mom's brother and his family was not there and my mom's cousin (the one that's my second mom we've recently gotten close to) and her family was. It was just SO great this year and that was weird. After we ate, we exchanged gifts and you guys, my mom's cousin gave me this gorgeous Irish necklace that she said she gave me because she, "wanted me to have something sentimental and keepsake" from her. The story behind the necklace is just really special and personal and just OMG. I'm NEVER taking it off. And after we exchanged gifts, I was sitting on the floor in front of her (she was sitting on the couch) and I laid my head on her leg/the couch and she played with my hair and it was just such a special Christmas over there. It's just so great to finally have family because I've never had family outside of my immediate family and grandparents that I'm close too. I feel like I finally have someone that's actually blood related to me as like an aunt/uncle/cousin figure even if they are my mom's cousin and her family. <3
