Basically, Dick's nightmare where he is wearing Joker's costume and is killing Joasn: his guilt over WANTING Jason gone, and that Jason DID die, and he feels guilty that he WANTED it, and feels AS IF he did it, and his guilt is over "PROFITING" from it/guilt over not feeling guilty

Dick’s insanely overactive guilt, his manifestation of Crane as the antagonistic psychiatrist, all of the dialogue swirling around Dick’s relationships with his father and adoptive father, and then inevitably pointing toward Jason. And like, that’s the flow of the entire show up until now: Dick’s issues mostly stem from his paternal relationships, and he doesn’t even consider that Jason has anything to do with it, until now. When his subconscious guilt takes over. And you’re right it’s the guilt and the NOT feeling guilt, which leads to more guilt. Oh Dick… seek help. Oh and the way Dick looks on in horror as his hand raises, clutching the crowbar, and the IMAGERY of Dick beating Jason dressed as the Joker, who even came up with that? Brilliant.

I have been banging my head at the walls of this well since 2018!!!!! Rewatched all of it 3 times already.

Ahhhhhh! Most under-appreciated series of recent years! By far. Also some of the darkest shit, too. We need to discuss this.

AAAHHBH I started the show what, three months ago?? Four? Now I’m rewatching. I heard about it years ago and said, “I’m not watching that,” but here we are.

At first it really seemed like no one on earth liked Titans, but all I had to do was explore tumblr for a bit. There’s some great stuff out there! which I am now inflicting on all my followers (sorry).

No but Titans consumes my thoughts. I could talk about this show for hoooouuuurrsss… The character writing is just insane. And it’s made in Canada! 🇨🇦

I have little to nothing I can do. Talking to walls is useless. Talking to walls that are painted with "kill yourself" is worse and is just in bad taste. Talking to walls that have zero significance or affect on the current events all together is probably just idiotic.

On the other hand. My country is at war.

An actual, goddamn WAR, capital W. And it is detrimental to my own survival and the outcome and its course will affect the whole middle east and more so.

In the end, we are all small chess pieces in a way larger story. In the end, you need your own to fight for your own. Israel has something special that others not always have: The worst it gets, the more unified we are. No clichés here. So here we are, unified in our cause to survive and to ensure our future.

This blog is a fandom blog. But these days, I feel incredibly inadequate in enjoying ANYTHING while my country buries the dead and struggles to identify HUNDREDS more. As my partner is stationed at the northern, heating up border, what am I to do.

It's a fandom blog. I am Israeli, I am Jewish. And I stand with my family, friends and neighbors against the evil that was done to us, that has been going on for dozens of years and now reached a new, devilish low.

On Saturday, October 7th, 2023, Empathy died.

We have to do what we have to do.

And as I'm writing those words: whoever has a problem with that, the unfollow or block buttons are right there. If you want to distance yourself from the matter, anything on the current events will be tagged "Israel".

The situation as it unfolds, may take a while. Long while. You get used to it, and go on. You cannot fix the world.

My country will protect me the best it can. I can always be certain of this. This is a huge comfort. And while wokePC crowd chants to erase Israel, I know, that all they can do is just that: chant. We are here to say. As we were, as we are and as we will.

At some point, when the grief subsides, I'll be posting and reblogging fandom content again. War or not.

A glutton for punishment.

What about jaydick, after Jay comes back and after everything, bridges are built, relationships mended, and... the Gotham Gazette reports about the coming back of the lost second son, after a cover story about getting lost in Europe and amnesia.... and it's very public all in all, and this is the Kardashians Waynes!

...and Dick and Jason fall for each other.

And while Bruce has trouble with the concept, and he does his damndest best to try and wrap his head around this,he is kinda Victorian after all, the press is Volatile (tm). And when the paparazzi get a glimpse...!

Cue in the hard life of the rich and famous!

Oh~ but what if all this starts because Dick is caught with some mysterious stranger by a random Gotham citizen. Nondescript as Dick and Jason are, lowkey as the places they go to are - the masses are 👀✨💦 when it comes to Dickie Grayson-Wayne, so pictures inevitably surface online. Just excited inquiries of 'Dickie back in Gotham?? Who's he with?'

And then more pictures surface with other people seeing them out and about and it becomes a witch hunt.

Bruce has always been good about tamping down formal media outlets when it comes to Dick though. Bruce has never been shy about causing a stir to get attention off his boy either. There's only so much he can do against the general public though. That besides, he sees blurry pictures of the man Dick is with and it doesn't matter that Jason wears a hood - Bruce would recognize his babygirl anywhere.

Which leads to crisis for Bruce because he can't understand it. Hell, he doesn't have the time to begin mulling it over to determine how he feels; everything in him screams at him that it's wrong but those are his boys - his sons. But again, no time to process because somehow Jason's identity comes out and all focus goes to damage control.

Bruce thought he would have more time. He shouldn't have underestimated the enthusiasm of today's youth. In other circumstances, Bruce would be proud of these young detectives in the making, but this time? For fuck's sake. ):

Anyway, damage control. Where they have some time as the family 'processes and copes in light of this development - the return of a lost son; please be respectful of their privacy at this time,' yadda yadda.

The cover story: European love affair. Dick goes abroad, meets a local. Love at first sight. They stay in touch. Jason goes by an entirely different name; he has a different identity. Amnesia convenience after experiencing forgotten horrors when he was lost and 'died' all those years ago. To their surprise, Talia has already laid a trail if anyone looks into it. All their means will make this go away, it's just...

Something something Dick and Jason having to give an interview because it's such a scandal and Dick gets the brunt of a lot of nasty accusations involving grooming and Jason has none of it. You know who groomed him? Gotham. Because news outlets chose to talk about garbage gossip instead of things that really matter. Like the kids working the streets and turning tricks, paying favors to those in the judicial system and those that run everything in the shadows. The abuses of Gotham's elite and how a payout shuts up anyone that can do anything about it while the victims suffer. Fuck them. Spinning the one kindness the world gave him into a cruelty - making him leave it; fuck them.

And Dick is just sat there. Not a care in the world as he watches Jason, all heart eyes and smitten smiles as Jason goes on a rant that extends longer than their allotted time.

But yeah they do 'break up.' Publicly, at least. And it's clear as day that it's out of obligation more than any real desire and people are confused. Some insist it's for the best, others contemplate the circumstances, and more still stir up drama that never quite sticks. In the end it's a forgotten thing though. Moved past as soon as the next scandal comes around.

Or better yet 👀: this is the jumping off point of Keeping Up With the Waynes. If I remember right the og started over a sex tape? For the Wayne's it opens on a joke about the scandal and is it weird he fucked his brother? Maybe. How was Dick to know the boy he thought he buried would become this (cue hot toddy slap and Jason shoving Dick off the couch they're sat on).

Ok, Titans (2018) - the interval between S4 beginning up to Tim's "gauntlet" under Jason.

Any headcanons how Dick and Jason mended things? How did they go from Jason saying his goodbyes to Bruce and "never been here" (aka last fight at the end of S3) to being on phone call terms with Dick and plotting & executing The Hazing Of One Tim Drake?

How did they become close again? How close at all?

What has transpired?! 😳😳😳

(...I know this has to be full on CanonDivergwnce for Dick ends up with Kori in the series, no questions here, but hey, we do what we do to survive....)

The ask in which I get exposed for having only watched through s2. 😳😳😳 It's totally cool though, I've got this ahahaha. I'm vaguely aware that things went to hell in a handbasket in s3 from the Jason clips I watched, so let's see what I come up with. >)

It's Dick who reaches out first - a text about some suspect rumors or a potential case.

Strictly work related, completely impersonal - a professional inquiry

And Jason sits on it for days

Because obviously Dick is fucking with him. Why the fuck would he be reaching out to Jason for anything after everything? It's uncomfortable.

Personal headcanon that for as bratty as (2018)Titans!Jason can be, he's more concerned with how he fucked up than with how Dick slighted him

And it's not that he's disillusioned by Dick (Robin) anymore, that ship sailed and burned in a tragic wreckage, but like...he's still eager to impress

Praise this boy immediately

Days pass and Dick figures that Jason is ghosting him. That's fine. Reaching out was a shot in the dark. The casework was nothing he couldn't look into himself. More than that, it was just an excuse to check in.

But Jason doesn't owe Dick anything. Maybe Dick hopes that by by asking for 'help,' Jason might come to him if needed.

A long shot. They both fuck things up too much for that (in their own opinions)

But then Dick gets a message out of the blue. No comments, no insights, just a plethora of information for Dick to sift through.

And it's...organized? Not so much in an anal Bat sort of way (although it's that, too), it's just. It's compiled in a way that's very easy and pleasant to follow along with. Highlighting, diagrams, math written out in margins and worked through; formulas deconstructed and it's - it's a lot. It's curious and insightful and smart.

For as much as I loved the narrative impact of Dick's comment on Jason not reading AHHHHHHHHH and idk if Dick ever found out that Jason did all that complex chemistry with the fear gas thing, but FFFFFFFFF any and all opportunities to have (2018)Titans!Dick be confronted by him never having known Jason on a deeper (not even that deep omg) level is so wildly important

Anyway, yes. Dick being at a loss on how to reply because he doesn't want to provoke Jason's ire. So he just sends 'thanks'

And Jason ahhhhahahaha, poor boy. He put so much work into this project. He's doing it on top of his own work too, so when he gets the reply - 'thanks' - he's seriously just ._. before huffing and having a tiny tantrum because typical fucking dick

But then later Dick messages again and Jason swears that he's not going to read it. He'll leave it alone until he has the time to spare

Then of course he reads it immediately, a text that asks how Jason got to xyz solution for whatever formula or equation

And then they talk math/chemistry/what-have-you like a bunch of nerds

Tbh Dick just be marveling Jason being as smart as he is and enjoying the conversation for what it is

Some time passes. Their conversation would have ended as soon as it began, really. It goes back to radio silence until Jason thinks about that case again and checks in on the status

It's resolved, of course. Which is nothing Jason couldn't have looked into himself, in hindsight. He's a bit embarrassed for texting, but Dick texts him again with another, 'thanks again (:'

And Jason is just //n/// as he tosses his phone aside and gets back to his own thing

With no case to use as an excuse though, neither of them have any reason to text. They'll look at their phones occasionally though. Contemplating, maybe drafting something before deleting it and going back to their days

Then, one day, Jason receives a text that has some sort of equation. Which. Wtf is Dick working on now? Jason can't figure it out, but he sends a text back with his answer and how he found it

Following is a text from Dick; different method, same result

And that becomes the new norm. Sending one another complicated hypotheticals or brain teasers/puzzles to solve. And Jason doesn't necessarily enjoy the subjects much, but it's still a fun break to his days

More fun still is when they work together to solve something - sending bits of progress to one another and using that joint effort to come up with something grandiose and sometimes entirely wrong and they're both flabbergasted but get back to work because they won't be bested

And yes. This paves the way for Jason reaching out to Dick for help with something he's looking into.

Even when Jason outright rejects Dick's first response and is vicious in his teardown of the ones following, Dick is diligent with lobbing thoughts out there, finessing them with each of Jason's rejects and further insights until they unwittingly solve the case together

To be cheeky, all Jason texts is: 'thanks'

It's a slow crawl to mend what was broken between them but they get there, however tentatively. ///U/// As for how close they get? Probably just far enough to occasionally joke around and ask for work-related favors.

Also oh gosh just reread the ask and apparently they talk on the phone on occasion? How intimate LOL. These are probably less common though, just because there's no backspacing when in a verbal conversation and Dick has a habit of putting his foot in his mouth and Jason can and will take offense if Dick so much as breathes at him wrong, so help him.

I like to imagine Jason answers the calls with a gruff, 'what?' Just so inconvenienced even if he's not really bothered by it. And depending on the situation Dick might get straight to business or he'll get cheeky and have to call back after Jason hangs up on him.
