D&D LSiT Campaign |: Arcosians & NPC Tokens (Commission)

This is a little bit of an expansion to my two previous posts: Towards New Adventures 2025 and Silly Anatomy Studies about my friend's D&D 5e campaign that is called "Labyrinth Stuck in Time" or LSiT for short. Some disclaimer here: my friend refers to Ice-jin (Frieza Race) as the "Arcosians" so I will refer to them as such in LSiT -related posts, and note that lots of this campaign are homebrew (not canonically accurate) and heavily alternative universe -type of material due to being a crossover.

"Yes, I have seen the likes of you around here." The strange bird chirped in the language that only Artico seemed to understand. "They call themselves 'Starlit Arcosians'. Weird creatures if you ask me! They don't really like to socialise with other creatures here in the purple dimension, but they do give the best of head scratches!" The galaxy coloured bird nodded excitedly. "Oh! And unlike all other 'species' within this realm that look identical to each other, creatures like us, the 'Arcosians' are completely unique. They are like our God's favourite creations in our realm!"

It would be a crime to use copy-paste the same token onto the board for like a hundred times when the lore specifically states that they look different to other species, right? So, after having been introduced to the NPC's of the Starlit Arcosians' Town, I quickly got to work creating a handful of unique tokens for all of the characters.

Working on Gelid's design.

For anyone wondering, his scales are red, the bracers and vambraces are either gonna be another shade of red or purple and the biogem is supposed to be a light sky blue.

I made different transformations for my lizard dorks!  But I think I’ll post them all individually first, then I’ll throw them all together in a single image for size comparison.

I finished Boreas first.  This pic of his first form is slightly better than the last one I drew, plus I included his battle armor, which he normally wears.

I still don’t have a coherent backstory for him yet but I’ve come up with a few details:

-- He’s a soldier, but he’s not a part of Frieza’s PTO.  He serves in the Royal Guard which is Arcos’s primary defense force.  Since the Royal Guard exists to protect Arcos, he rarely leaves the planet.

-- He’s fairly high in rank, I’m thinking he’s some sort of tactician or advisor, but that doesn’t mean he lacks combat skills.

-- Very tall and lanky.  I’m still trying to get his proportions right.

-- Very dour and serious, no fun allowed, sense of humor consists entirely of dry sarcasm.

-- He’s nowhere near as evil as Frieza or the Cold Family, but I wouldn’t call him “friendly” either.

3rd form Boreas, he looks like he’s having a bad day.

The dinosaur features in this form are kinda hard to notice.  He has slightly over-exaggerated carnotaurus brow horns and saurian spikes running down his spine.

His tail club has morphed into a spiked mace and I don’t know of any dinosaur with a tail like that.  Oh well, it looks deadly enough anyway.

As promised, here’s my redesign of Frost.  I decided to just stick with his fourth form because the complaints I have about this form are pretty much the same as forms 1-3.  Don’t get me wrong, I think Frost’s design is okay, but like golden Frieza, there’s a few things that bother me.

The earmuffs:  Seriously Toei, you couldn’t draw a simple ear hole so nobody wonders how the hell he hears anything?  Hit needs real ears too.

The mysterious yoga pants:  You already know how I feel about this.  But unlike golden Frieza, Frost’s leg color continues to his tail, so I tried to make it look more like a marking on his skin.  Plus I just think the dark color extending up his spine to a point looks kinda cool.

The shoes:  Okay, I already know about the bio-shoes vs. lizard feet discourse.  My opinion on it is really just a matter of aesthetics:  I just think the lizard feet look way cooler than the shoes.  They were mostly a unique feature of Frieza’s race, so I don’t understand why they replaced them with feet that look just like those of every other character.

Bonus! I like to think the dark lips on all Cold family members are natural and that all U7 icejin/Arcosians have dark lips.  I tried to make Frost’s lips dark but he just looked...weird.  I guess the Cold family are the only ones that can make that look good.
