Ace Bonding Event
They’re My Friend! (unofficial title)
[Setting: Chocobo Ranch]
Ace, smiling: Player, how about we do the assignment together? After all, doing it alone would be boring.
Arecia: So this is where you were, Ace.
Ace: Doctor Arecia!
Arecia: It's time for your regular check-up. Come with me.
Ace: Doctor, does it... have to be right now? I was just about to start working on an assignment with Player...
Arecia: Player? They're just an ordinary cadet, aren't they? You needn't mind them.
Ace, angry: Ngh... Don't say things like that!
Ace: Player has been helping me! They took care of me when I was still getting used to Akademeia...
Ace: I've been able to do my best because Player has been with me!
Arecia: In other words... Are you trying to say that you're "friends"?
Player choice:
>I'm not sure
>Of course we're friends
Arecia: I see. You intend to be friends with my child.
Ace, smiling: Player...
---
(Alternate Player Choice)
Arecia: In other words... Are you trying to say that you're "friends"?
Player choice:
>I'm not sure
>Of course we're friends
Arecia: I see. So, you don't know, either.
Ace, sadly: ......
---
Arecia: Regardless, personal relationships aren't necessary for him. Don't get yourself too involved.
Ace: Doctor! I--
Arecia: However... Hm, indeed. This situation was different from what I'd expected. Let's perform your check-up tomorrow.
Ace: ...I'm sorry. That person wants me to be perfect for Class Zero.
Ace: If being with me gets you in trouble, I'll definitely protect you... I promise.
Ace, serious: I'll protect you, Player... No matter what.
Final Fantasy Agito: Gaiden 1, Part 4
Characters: Ace, Arecia / Ace, Machina, Izana
Summary: A two-parter. (The two parts are unrelated to each other.) In the first part, Ace questions Arecia about what’s required to become Agito. In the second part, Izana and Machina try to find out what kind of person Ace likes, but...
Note: Because the words “locus” and “loci” confused me at first, I’ll explain for anyone else. It basically means “location” or "foundation.” The idea of the characters each inherently possessing a particular quality originates from the concept of “Buddha-nature.”
Locus of Power
The day when Tempus Finis arrived...
[Setting: Fountain courtyard]
Ace, serious: Tell me, Mother. What exactly is "Agito"?
Ace: How do I become Agito? I want to be Agito to save everyone!
Arecia: You cannot become Agito unless you hold a locus of power.
Ace: A locus of power?
Arecia: Kindness, Knowledge, Valor, Innocence, Tenacity, Discernment... These various types of powers can be found within people.
Arecia: It is my belief that one can become Agito by properly wielding such power.
Ace: So, if I have that kind of power, I could save everyone?
Arecia: That's right. However... You only govern one of them.
Ace, dismayed: Only one... Well, then what should I do?
Ace: Even if I'm called part of the legendary Class Zero, that won't help them!
Arecia: You shouldn't feel so discouraged. Most cadets don't even have one.
Arecia: That's what makes you special.
Arecia: Besides, I think it may be impossible to contain every locus of power within one human vessel.
Ace: So you're saying that there's no simple means of salvation...
Ace: The battle has begun.
Ace: My friends are fighting. I have to join them.
Ace, smiling sadly: Thank you for everything. Now, goodbye...
Arecia: Goodbye, Ace. We'll meet again.

The One Closest to Agito
Before the Militesi invasion...
[Setting: Chocobo Ranch]
Izana: Hey, Ace. What kind of person strikes your interest?
Ace: Wh--! Where did that come from?!
Machina: I'm curious, too. Is it someone who will surprise us...?
Izana: Agito cadets are special, but he's also part of the legendary Class Zero. I bet he could pick whoever he wants.
Machina: Just be honest. I can introduce you to someone.
Ace: Hmmm. The Representative, or maybe Queen?
Izana: Whoa?! Those are some names I didn't expect to hear!
Ace: And Machina, I guess.
Machina: ME?!
Ace: Everyone's amazing, but I think those three are special. Their magical power and knowledge really stand out.
Izana: So that's what "strikes the interest" of the incredible Agito cadet...
Machina, disappointed: That's not what we were asking...
Machina: Maybe you like someone who isn't annoying? Or maybe you prefer smaller chests? That sort of thing.
Ace: Well, if that's what you mean, then Machina comes first...
Ace: ...No, never mind. It doesn't matter.
Izana: You’re right, Ace. There's no point in asking questions with obvious answers.
Machina: What are you laughing for!
Izana: I mean, he only said your name to be polite, but it's still crazy that he mentioned Queen and the Rep, isn't it?
Ace: Right... Those two are strong. However, strength doesn't necessarily lead to Agito.
Machina: Being family-oriented and attentive are unexpected conditions to become Agito...
Ace: If that's what you mean, then a different name comes to mind instead of those two.
>The three enter a shared daydream.
[Setting: Ready Room]
Kazusa: Oh my, Kurasame. Is today's lunch homemade?
Kurasame: It's cost-effective because I can control the nutrition myself. It's good in its own way.
Emina: Oh, there you are, Kurasame. Did the cookies turn out well?
Kurasame: I tried to make them according to the recipe, but my knowledge of sweets may be somewhat lacking.
Kurasame: Would you give one a taste?
Emina: It's incredible! Everyone will love them just the way they are.
Kurasame: I see... Then I'm relieved.
Final Fantasy Agito: Gaiden 2, Chapter 1
Characters: Player, Miyu, Machina, Rem, Lean, Qator, Sice, Trey, Arecia
Note: Rather than focusing on multiple different stories, this gaiden recounts the end of another cycle. It gets referred to as the “third cycle” of FF Agito, but I don’t think it’s literally the third cycle of the world. I’m not sure where exactly it belongs in the overall timeline. All I know is that this is the one that was supposed to finally lead to the arrival of the true Agito had the game been allowed to continue.
Thanks to @reverse-vampire for the screenshots which made this translation possible!
Gaiden 2, Chapter 1
The Final Battle of White-Vermilion
--Player,
do you remember?
The time when you and I
first met.
>A cutscene panning over the cemetery with narration from Tohno.
So it seems like… No one came.
…It must have really hurt.
…You must be lonely.
…But, I won’t forget.
I’ll… do my best to remember you.
>The cutscene ends, focusing on a bouquet resting on a grave.
When Player and I met and when we parted,
in the first world...
Since that time, the world has turned through countless Spirals,
and each time, I was also reincarnated...
[Setting: Classroom]
Miyu: --Player... Hey, Player.
Miyu, concerned: What's wrong? It's rare to see you spacing out like this. Were you thinking?
Machina: We've been fighting for a while. Even Player must be getting tired.
Rem: Are you okay? Player, please don't work too hard.
>Lean enters the classroom.
Lean: ...Whoops, looks like everybody's already here. Sorry for makin' you wait.
Machina, scowling: You're late, Lean. Where have you been?
Lean, brows furrowed: I was near the lab and ran into Kazusa.
Lean, sighing: He suddenly went, "Wait, could you try this medicine for me?"
Machina: ...Don't tell me you drank it?
Lean: He said it was for the sake of his research, so I really wanted to help him as a fellow researcher...
Lean: But then the Rep called for me, so I had to refuse. ...Uh, why? Would there have been a problem if I drank it?
Rem: ...Yeeeah. I think it was probably for the best that you didn’t drink it. Right, Player?
Lean: Really? ...Wait, more importantly! Rep, you had something important to say, right? Please, go ahead.
Miyu: Alright. I'll explain today's strategy.
Miyu: Three months have passed since the start of the fullscale war between the Concordia-Lorica Alliance and the Rubrum-Milites Alliance.
Miyu: The Lorican army has already been silenced by our onslaught. The Concordian army is steadily losing their momentum.
Miyu: Presently, Concordia's last dragon unit has abandoned their capital's defense to attack the Militesi capital of Ingram.
Machina: Their last-ditch effort at a counterattack... or something? Concordia must be desperate.
Miyu: However, if we take down their dragon unit, they'll be unable to fight any longer. It should be easy to invade their capital now, as well.
Miyu: Therefore, it was decided that we'll be dispatching elite cadets to the capitals of both nations--
Miyu: So that we can carry out plans to subjugate the capital of Concordia and support Ingram at the same time.
Miyu: Player. You guys must hurry and head to the capital of Milites!
Miyu: Lend support to our Militesi allies in Ingram and defeat Concordia's dragon unit!
Rem: Roger that! With this, it's all finally going to be settled...
Lean: There's nothing to fear when the cadets and the Militesi army fight together.
Lean: Isn't that right, Player?
Rubrum and Milites... Even within the repeating spiral,
it's rare to see a world where the two join hands.
And the Representative... Even at that time,
I'm sure she could feel it.
Player... Inside of you,
there's a strong power that connects people...
Miyu (over COMM): Attention, all cadets! This is Representative Miyu Kagirohi.
Miyu (over COMM): Our objective is to support the Militesi army in their battle. Now is the time for us to settle this war with Concordia and Lorica!
Miyu (over COMM): Let's grasp the future together! May the Crystal guide us!
[Setting: Ingram, Milites]
Lean: Alright, let's do it! Player, Machina, Rem. Now’s the time to do or die!
Rem: Right! When this battle's over, there will be peace... Let's do our best!
Machina: Alright, everyone, get ready!
...At that time, they still didn't know.
Because they didn't know,
they believed strongly.
Hmm... I wonder if you, who hadn't forgotten,
knew what would happen.
Player.
That fact that that scene,
which had been burned into our eyes hundreds of millions of times,
would happen again...
>A battle begins where Player and the others fight their way through Ingram.
Machina: I can't believe that Concordia's dragon unit still has so much strength left...
Lean: Their offense is rather intense. This must be what they mean when they say that a cornered rat will bite a cat! But it's not like we can lose, either!
Lean: Player, the timing of that attack was perfect! As expected!
Rem: There are still a lot of enemies here! Stay alert!
Rem: They even brought such a large dragon with them...?! A really strong one is coming, everyone! Be careful!
Machina: Kgh... Player, please lend me support! I'll cut my way through!
Lean: Hh... Huff... Huff... It's not finished yet. When this battle is over, the war will be over...!
Rem: Right. The enemy's desperate, too... We can't lose now! Let's make it through this!
Lean: ?! Crap, that's... That's a really big one! Get ready!
Machina: The number of enemies has noticeably decreased, though. If we can beat these guys... It'll be over! Everyone, let's go!
After an incredibly daunting amount of time...
Most things have become faded and hazy.
But... Player.
You're the one thing
I can still remember vividly.
The good times we spent together and the things we believed in...
Those were the things that helped me continue moving forward.
Even if I knew
how the world would end...
[Setting: Still in Ingram]
Machina: ...It's over at last, Player. We won.
Rem: Peace has finally come to the world...
Rem: Our days of fighting have finally reached their end...!
Machina: Yeah. ...But, if we aren't fighting anymore, what will we do?
Lean: There are a lotta things I wanna do. For example... There are many various things I want to research.
Rem: Huhu. I'd expect no less from a researcher! But is it related to magic or machine weaponry?
Lean: That's just more research for the sake of war, isn't it? There are many things around us we don't know about.
Lean: "How was this star formed?" "What's out there beyond this continent?" Those kinds of things.
Lean: There's a lot more I wanna know.
Rem: Wow... That's amazing. That sounds really interesting!
Machina: I see. There's still a whole mountain of things we don't know...
Machina: It might be nice to learn about those things, too. Right, Player?
Rem: Umm, in that case, I want to take my time getting to know the country of Milites, the place where Lean grew up!
Lean: Oh, that would be nice! Please, come visit. I'll show you around!
Machina: Sightseeing in Milites... I've never considered it before, but that sounds like it could be fun.
Rem: Hey, Player, what would you like to do?
>There's a white flash and the sound of thunder. The atmosphere looks a little darker.
Rem: Kyaaa!!
Lean: Wh-... What was that...?!
>The sky turns red, casting everything in a red light.
Qator (over COMM): This is Qator. Lean, respond!
Lean: Brigadier General! Hey, what the hell's going on?! Isn't the fighting over?!
Qator (over COMM): It's unclear! However, I can tell you that there's an overwhelming number of soldiers approaching our capital!
Sice (over COMM): Emergency transmission! Can you hear me, Akademeia? This is Sice!
Sice (over COMM): Reporting an attack by unidentified troops in Concordia! Their numbers are unknown. There's too many for me to count!
Machina: Sice! No way... It's the same over there, too!?
Trey (over COMM): The Militesi allied army has been wiped out by the mysterious enemy! We're also being attacked. At this rate--
>Trey's transmission is cut off.
Machina: Wh... What is this...?! What's going on?!
[Setting: Terrace]
Arecia: It looks like the cadets have begun the final battle for their survival.
Arecia: Struggle until you can struggle no more. And then, this time... Rise up to Agito.
Miyu: Mother. Isn't it a little too early for Tempus Finis to be awoken?
Arecia: There should be enough vessels to withstand the trials.
Arecia: The battle between humans is over. If Agito still doesn't appear, then my experiment will end here.
Arecia: This time, the world will end.
Miyu: Not the Spiral, but... the world itself? Is this your will as the Mother Creator?
Arecia: If an experiment fails no matter how many millions of times it's repeated, then it's time to abandon the experiment itself.
Arecia: This might just be that time.
Arecia: I wonder if it could be said that a possibility still exists in Orience.
Miyu: ...Then, with my own hands, I'll be the one who determines whether Agito was born in the world this time.
>The surroundings rumble and it sounds like something is activated.
Arecia: ...Indeed, that was your role this time, wasn't it. Rursan l'Cie, the Judge.
Arecia: I wonder when exactly you began cooperating with me...?
>Miyu's eyes turn purple and the purple l'Cie brand appears over one of her eyes.
Judge Myuria: I believe... in the people who lived with me in this world.
Arecia: Is that so? I hope the souls of the humans in this cycle can fulfill those expectations.
Final Fantasy Agito: First Cycle, Chapter 4, Act 5
Characters: Commandant, Caetuna, Khalia, Arecia, Cadetmaster
Summary: Caetuna presents the Consortium with the Crystal’s plan to even things with the Empire, but it’s a rather dark plan...
Chapter 4, Act 5
L'Cie Caetuna Steps Up
Thanks to the cadets' efforts and Zhuyu's sacrifice,
the White Tiger l'Cie Nimbus was finally taken out.
However, the damage caused by Nimbus was immense.
The Dominion legion lost more than half of its troops.
To widen the disparity, Milites begins to advance.
Though Rubrum was still locked in a difficult situation...
At that time, the one remaining Vermilion Bird l'Cie
stepped forward to suggest their last resort.
[Setting: Consortium of Eight meeting room]
Commandant: Lady Caetuna...! You want us to summon the Verboten Eidolon?!
Caetuna: That is correct. Such is my intention, for it is the will of the Crystal.
Khalia: ...It is true that if we summon the Verboten Eidolon, it may level the field and reverse the difference in our numbers.
Khalia: A Verboten Eidolon is a summon with power equal to that of a god. You could think of it as Rubrum's final trump card. However--
Khalia: You must be aware of the incredible sacrifice which is necessary in order to perform the summoning, yes?
Caetuna: Countless will become offerings to the Eidolon; those who lack the power and will to fight.
Khalia: You... You can't be serious! You want to offer the lives of Dominion civilians?!
Caetuna: Should half of the powerless be offered, the summon can be performed. Promptly begin the preparations.
Arecia: ...The Crystal is most rational, isn't it? In a manner of speaking, to win the war, it chose the path with the least sacrifices.
Arecia: No matter how many people die, it won't subtract from the number of soldiers and cadets. It's a strategy to massacre the Milites army while retaining the Rubrum army's present strength.
Cadetmaster: I don't think the people will consent to this! Besides, this idea is simply too heinous...!
Commandant: Certainly, it appears heinous, but... If we lose the war to Milites, lives will be lost either way.
Commandant: Consequently, the Crystal also suggested this course of action. Still... *grumble*...!
Commissar: Chairman Khalia, you couldn't be considering this, could you...?!
Khalia, pensive: ......
Final Fantasy Agito: Gaiden, Chapter 4 (Final)
Characters: Lean, Tohno, Miyu, Arecia, Ace, Queen, Deuce, Jack
Credit and eternal thanks goes to @reverse-vampire for providing the screenshots I used to translate this from.
But now... This is the end, isn't it?
Light
[Setting: Akademeia, the terrace, at Tempus Finis]
Lean: Guh... Player... Toh...no...
Tohno: Y-... You two are here... But... Everyone... Everyone else has...!
Arecia: It didn’t come this time, either.
Miyu: Yes. Unfortunately, that is true. Even so, will you return the world to its Spiral?
Arecia: I wonder.
Arecia: What I want isn't someone who can defeat the Judge. That's besides the point.
Arecia: What I've waited for is a soul capable of becoming Agito. However...
Arecia: Even if I repeat the Spiral, it will not succeed. It seems as though the method I've employed may not be correct.
Miyu: Then... I see. Are you saying that the world is going to end?
Arecia: It doesn't make sense to continue an experiment if it isn't producing results.
Lean: W-... Wait a... minute...
Lean: What do you mean, 'an experiment'?
Arecia: You heard me. You still don't understand?
Arecia: You humans have been living inside a lab experiment that has been continually repeating over and over for the sake of giving birth to Agito.
Tohno: That can't be... All of our fights-- Was it all being orchestrated?
Tohno: Giving birth to Agito... Just for that...
Arecia: I wonder what you're going on about now.
Arecia: You two were also fighting to become the world's savior, weren't you?
Arecia: But now... This is the end, isn't it?
[Setting: A flashback, in a field somewhere outside Akademeia]
Ace: You're a new student at Akademeia, aren't you? It's nice to meet you, Player.
Ace: I've heard stories about you. There were rumors that you're a very talented person.
Ace: Pardon my delayed introduction. I'm Ace. Showing you the way to Akademeia is my current mission.
Ace: Shall we go? Akademeia is in this direction. Please follow me without hesitation.
[Setting: Akademeia Fountain Courtyard]
Queen: Welcome to Akademeia. I am a cadet of Class First, Queen.
Deuce: I'm Deuce. Um, I heard about what happened. You encountered a Behemoth on your way here, didn't you?
Queen: Making it here safely after having encountered a Behemoth...
Queen: It seems you must be even stronger than we've heard. Player, we’re glad to have you.
Queen: As I'm sure you know, in our world of Orience, a war over the great power of the four Crystals has continued for thousands of years.
Queen: We cadets train day and night here at Akademeia to become Agito, the one who will save Orience and put an end to the ancient war.
Jack: I see the class president is as stiff as ever~
Jack: Player just got here, so why don't you lighten up a bit?
Queen: Who are you calling class president?! ...A- Ahem. Well then, as I was saying.
Queen: It's customary for new cadets to visit the cemetery.
Deuce: The cemetery is an important place where we pay our respects to the legacy of those who died for the sake of the world.
Queen (with a very sad expression): It is our duty to become Agito as recompense for the sacrifice of those who sleep in the cemetery...
Queen: So please, prepare yourself to become the one who will save the world.
Jack: Aa, by the way -- you'll find that place in the academy’s courtyard~ Welp, take care!
[Setting: Cemetery]
So it seems like... No one came.
...It must have really hurt.
...You must be lonely.
...But, I won't forget.
I'll... do my best to remember you.
Tohno: (standing in front of the central monument) Player... We meet again.
Tohno: Hey, do you remember? At the very end, when...
(Flashes back to Arecia talking with Miyu, Tohno, and Lean at Tempus Finis)
Arecia: But now... This is the end, isn't it?
Miyu: ...Mother. Please wait.
Miyu: There are still new possibilities in this world. I saw for myself.
Miyu: So please, I beg of you... Please don't end the world, this world of Orience where we lived so desperately.
Miyu: If you would, take and witness everything I've seen.
>Miyu turns to crystal and it sounds like she shatters.
Arecia: ...I see. That child... Are they the new possibility you discovered?
Arecia: 10 and 6 Loci, the souls with the power necessary to bring forth Agito, beginning with the “Power of Acceptance”...
Arecia: Now there’s one more... Player has a power different from the others.
Arecia: That child possesses the power of "Bonds", the power to connect people to each other. That power may also be necessary to bring forth Agito.
Arecia: Is that what you wanted to say, Miyu?
Arecia: Even I, who created this world, do not know from when or where this soul emerged.
Arecia: It seems as though a new path through history may have been opened because of that child's involvement here.
Arecia: This one change in the hundreds of millions of Spirals has opened extraordinary meaning and possibilities for me.
Arecia: Very well. Instead of ending the world, let's see what change this leads to. This time, let us hope that the long-awaited Agito is born.
Lean: ...............
Arecia: The despair which leads to death, "Age." And finally, that which is required for sublimation, "Suffering."
Arecia: You are not necessary for the creation of Agito.
Arecia: Nevertheless... Hm, yes. Go forth. Observe. Witness every single corner of this world.
Tohno: We have now been cast out from the Spiral, and it is our role to watch over you... To watch over the whole world.
Lean: People's feelings, the proof that they lived...
Lean: I'll engrave all of it into my heart and carry it with me into the next world.
Tohno: Until the day when people are able to choose the future for themselves, we won't forget.
Lean: The time we spent together with everyone was something irreplaceable to us.
Lean: And Player... Your existence saved this world from its certain demise.
Tohno: Player... I'm glad we met. Thank you. Until the day we meet again... Goodbye.
Final Fantasy Agito: First Cycle, Chapter 0
Characters: Miyu, Khalia, Ace. Arecia
Summary: Miyu leads the cadets on their first mission to clean up the region’s sudden monster problem. Accompanied by Arecia, Ace is introduced to the cadets.
Note: I'm missing screenshots for this cycle until halfway through chapter 2. There's a transcription online, but they didn't break up the dialog to indicate how much was spoken in one text box at a time. You'll see what I mean. I can't even tell you what the scene settings are in many cases. I also don't have any of the side conversations (and if I do, I don't know where they belonged usually), so some of these chapters are going to be really short. Like this one. So it's just one post.
Chapter 0
The One Closest to Agito
Chapter 0, Act 1
Khalia Chival's Expectations
Agito Cadet Representative, Miyu Kagirohi, was in an interview with the Dominion's Executive Chairman, Khalia Chival VI.
The Chairman holds the Rubrum government's highest decision-making position.
In addition to being the Chairman of the "Consortium of Eight", he is also the head of the Agito training academy, Akademeia...
[Khalia]
--Miss Miyu. There seem to be more and more exceptional cadets gathering here at Akademeia lately.
[Miyu]
As the Cadet Representative, it’s a fact that pleases me, Chairman Khalia.
Each of these talented cadets carry the weight of Rubrum's future on their shoulders.
I believe our generation will be the one to bring the savior who will guide the people and end the centuries of war.
[Khalia]
How very reliable.
The Vermilion Bird Crystal grants greater blessings to the youth, so I would naturally expect great things from them.
That is why we, the Consortium of Eight, are granting the cadets authority close to that of the government.
[Miyu]
I'm aware of that, as well.
Our actions will shape the future of Rubrum.
On behalf of the cadets, I promise the creation of a fine future.
[Khalia]
Such fine determination.
The whole country is rooting for Agito to be born among you.
Chapter 0, Act 2
The First Decision
[Miyu]
Attention!
This is a message for all cadets.
Recently, swarms of ferocious monsters have appeared within Rubrum territory, causing harm to civilians.
In regards to this, I want you cadets to decide whether to go on an extermination mission or to leave the matter to the military.
Exterminations are dangerous, but you'll be helping the people, and it'll be a good opportunity for you to experience live combat.
If you decide to leave it to the military, you won't be putting yourselves in danger, but you also won't reap many benefits.
With that said, I'd like for us to reach a decision by popular vote.
The decision code is "Opening Bit." Cadets, express your will in accordance with your beliefs!
Chapter 0, Act 3
For the Safety of the People
[Miyu]
Attention!
By your decision, we will carry out an extermination of the monsters.
We will destroy the monsters around the border and ensure the safety of the people.
It must be noted that within the monster hordes, the presence of extremely strong Behemoths have been confirmed.
Cadets, I want you to prepare yourselves well and take on the mission.
May the Crystal guide us!
Chapter 0, Act 4
Exterminate the Behemoths
[Miyu]
Attention!
The appearance of a strong Behemoth was confirmed moments ago!
You'll have no chance against it with just a few cadets!
Everyone, combine your strength to take it down!
May the Crystal guide us!
Mission to Exterminate the Behemoth
Miyu: We will now begin the Behemoth extermination operation. First and foremost, focus on your own survival.
Queen: It's an extremely dangerous enemy. Please be careful and don't push yourselves.
Miyu: Your platoon's mission is to hit the enemy from a distance. This may be a relatively safe mission, but please stay alert.
Deuce: I'm getting a little nervous.
EXTERMINATION SUCCESSFUL
Chapter 0, Act 5
The Entry of Class Zero
[Miyu]
Attention!
As a result of your hard work, the Behemoths have been brought under control.
We've received thank-you messages in response from the rescued residents as well as praise from all over Rubrum.
That performance is precisely what I'd expect from those who are aiming to become Agito.
It makes me feel proud to be the General Representative of the cadets.
In addition, I have more good news to report.
For the first time in 100 years, someone has risen to the vacant Class Zero!
That cadet is coming here.
Show him respect!
[Arecia]
Go ahead. You're up.
Introduce yourself to the cadets.
[Ace]
An introduction...
I just came to Akademeia the other day, so I'm not actually new, though.
Is suddenly joining Class Zero really something that deserves this type of reception?
[Arecia]
Before you came to Akademeia, you endured rigorous training under me.
Now even here at Akademeia, there's no doubt that you possess the greatest strength.
In terms of magical prowess and combat capability, you even surpass the Cadet Representative, Miyu Kagirohi.
It's the sort of power that brings no shame to the name of Class Zero.
Stand before them with confidence and tell them, "I have arrived."
[Ace]
I'm... no such vessel.
And even if you say "Class Zero", it's really just me.
[Arecia]
Even so, your existence will become the hand (like of a clock) that guides the other cadets.
That is your role.
Now then, let's be on our way, "Ace."
It's time to introduce the one closest to Agito.
Final Fantasy Agito: First Cycle, Chapter 1, Act 2
Characters: Miyu, Arecia, Ace
Summary: Ace introduces his plan to protect Akademeia from the Empire’s Crystal Jammer plot. But will this be enough...?
Chapter 1, Act 2
Secret Stratagem For the Defense of Akademeia
Having received intel of the Empire's invasion plan,
behind closed doors, the Dominion began working on how to deal with them.
And so, the Cadet Representative, Miyu Kagirohi,
under the directive of Khalia of the Consortium of Eight,
came up with a plan for Akademeia's defense...
[Miyu]
--It would seem the enemy is planning to use a new weapon called the "Crystal Jammer" to seal our magic.
If the legion and the cadets lose their magic, they're as good as useless.
Is there any way for us to get ourselves out of this predicament?
Class Zero's Ace. Sorcery's Dr. Arecia. Please, tell us your thoughts.
[Arecia]
Hm, yes... Ace will be your key in this battle.
This boy won't be affected by the magic seal. He's received adjustments, you see.
[Ace]
Right. With my magic and cards, I'm formulating an arte which would restore magic to everyone.
[Miyu]
That sounds like something I'd expect from a cadet raised by the Doctor.
You certainly belong in Class Zero.
[Ace]
It'll take quite a while to activate the technique.
In the meantime, I can only hope there won't be any casualties...
[Arecia]
There's no need for you to worry about who may lose their lives.
After all, the Crystal will alleviate you of your memories of the dead.
[Miyu]
"The Oblivion of Death"...
That is the law of this world.
[Arecia]
Correct, we lose our memories of the ones who die.
Say, if you happened to lose an acquaintance, your memories related to them would be deleted.
It's to prevent mankind from being trapped in the past.
You could think of it as the mercy of the Crystal.
[Miyu]
Still, that said, cadet lives aren't something that can be offered up for free!
I'm counting on you, Ace.
Our Akademeia must be protected by the hands of us cadets.

Chapter 3
Japanese title: The Will of Those Who Fight
English title: Will of the Fighters
Chapter 3, Act 1
Isolated Dominion
The capital of Concordia was destroyed by the Ultima Bomb.
As a result, the Azure Dragon Crystal was captured by the Empire.
That spelled not the end of another country, but the beginning of further adversity for the Dominion.
[Setting: Consortium of Eight meeting room]
Khalia: ...Miss Miyu. A moment ago, Concordia annulled their agreement to an alliance with us.
Khalia: Henceforth, Concordia will be on the side of the Empire, making an about-face to become our enemy.
Miyu, shocked: That's impossible...! Why would Concordia--?!
Miyu: The Empire bombed their capital! Why would they become their ally?!
Arecia: Cid captured the Azure Dragon Crystal so he could use it as a shield to strong-arm Concordia into making an alliance.
Arecia: He likely informed them, "If you don't help us defeat Rubrum, we'll destroy the Azure Dragon Crystal"...
Arecia: If that were to happen, the people of Concordia would lose their powers. With their Crystal in the Empire's hands, they have no choice but to abide by their rules.
Khalia: Even if their capital has been destroyed, many Concordian troops still remain in various places.
Khalia: Cid intends to use them as pieces in his own army to crush the Dominion.
Arecia: Well now, Cadet Representative, I wonder what you'll do. In the midst of a raging war, will you continue aiming for Agito...?
Miyu, scowling: ...!
