Hello, do you know if a private clinic would accept an NHS referall. I am on the NHS waiting list for top surgery but I'm saving up, so I was wondering if I got my first signature from an NHS doctor then (miraculously!) had enough savings to go private if I'd need two new signatures or if the NHS one would count? Thank you, Arkan.
A private surgeon might accept a letter from an NHS clinic that isn’t a referral (e.g. a letter from the end of your assessment period with the clinic, where they conclude that you have gender dysphoria), but they will sometimes want it in writing that the clinician would support a referral for top surgery, or an explicit surgery referral letter. If the situation came up, you could contact the surgeon you’re interested in to check what their requirements would be.
