In The Flesh is one of the most stand-out programmes for me this year, it tackles some really relevant issues for a lot of viewers, including anxiety, self esteem, and depression, and through this it gives people representation and support.
This wondrous programme also has a homosexual (or bisexual) main character. Kieren is the most human real fictional character I have ever come across, he offers support to those with anxiety and shows people they aren't alone and he also represents the gay community that is poorly represented in the media.
The female characters have proper, relevant, incredible roles. Amy, Jem and Maxine are perfect, perfect characters because they aren't stereotyped or there to be a sidekick or a love interest, they are there to be a part of the story, and that is really special and for me as a woman makes me love the programme more.
Dominic Mitchell writes the most intelligent, witty, interesting scripts and that is portrayed absolutely beautifully on screen by the cast and crew, and this show is just absolutely perfect.
I have never been a horror fan, but this show has so many levels and points of interest that there is a chance of a huge audience to tune in and enjoy, and I see daily that this fandom is growing.
Please, please recommission another series of In The Flesh, it is such a relevant, wonderful, and worthwhile programme to make and to air, it's very special to me and to a lot of people.
