HAPPY ARPEGGIO'S BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!! To celebrate, here's a dumpy of illustrations from my 2018 fanfic Birds of a Feather! I have slowly been uploading chapters onto AO3 the last couple years (I keep forgetting and going months without uploading for reasons I don't understand lol brain so silly) and I plan to finally finish uploading them all this week or next! so I didn't include some of the final chapters' illustrations here just in the off-chance they include spoilers for the climax and ending.

You can read that whole disaster here! I'm still really proud of it after the years have passed, and I am delighted I did it all with Arpeggio, a villain that is wildly underrated and underutilized.

Millenial!Chasse - Killing Time

(Forgot to post the finished one after I posted the sketch a while back!) She's playing Kataklysm RPG on her phone's sick 50x50 color display. You can't see it here, but she's wearing her Seepage hoodie (and obviously listening to Seepage on her portable CD player).

Also, artist self-nitpick: I originally had her skirt just riding over her tail (since Rozenich have thicc tails, and no modesty taboo), but in this pose you get less of the pleated-ness and a less cohesive outline if the skirt stays over the tail. So I guess the cutout for tails is large enough even for a floofy raptor empennage.

More inked art for the decreasingly new year! I've been experimenting with brush settings to get away from the default brushes I've used for a long time now, and to introduce a bit of the grit inherent to real ink on paper.

Chasse also making a finished picture appearance in her canonical form for once (and will her ruffs raised too)! Despite having a (relatively) more fleshed out story and relationships in her default rozenich-world setting, I just seem to keep drawing her (finished pictures, at least) in various, sometimes ridiculous AUs, that tweak her character a little...

These have all been a lot of fun, but now it's time to get back to the original huntress @alfafilly designed for me way back when!

More fancy pinup art for the decreasingly new year! In addition to experimenting with brush settings, I've also been trying to improve my rendering of light and shadow... Chasse' shiny scales, glossy plumes, and matte feathers provide a good variety of surfaces to apply lighting effects to, and even in her more natural form, it is still fun to experiment with colored lighting (or perhaps her dark feathers and scales have an iridescent effect to them similar to a starling's).

I wanted to explore ways to develop the look and feel of my line art, and this portrait is a quick test using elliptical brushes with a bit of noise (I've just used basic round brushes for a long time now)... I'm surprised at the difference just the brush shape alone makes though!

I'll keep experimenting until I find something I like well enough to use for larger pieces. What do you think? I'm happy to hear comments and suggestions!

Super rough sketch comic that I probably wouldn't have posted had I not ended up adding on to it (hence why it goes from a pen sketch to digital)... Some "reality" warping going on here, but through shitposting, all things (and ships) are possible! Even though this comic is basically a shitpost, it is still a bit of an exploration of Chasse' involvement with Linda, Forte, and now also Harlie... For lore context, Chasse is a newcomer to Linda's tribe. Linda is pretty open and casual when it comes to having fun with others (not unusual for rozenich in general), as is Chasse, so they fool around as Chasse tries to get a feel for everyone's attitude/power level. Forte is effectively Linda's boyfriend, and Harlie is ostensibly her chosen mate--but only for the purposes of reproduction? idk it's complicated. Harlie is kinda jealous of Forte, and despite both being rather intellectual for their species, they can have a hard time getting along... I figured that something interesting might happen if the existing love triangle of sorts was turned into a love square of sorts with the arrival of Chasse.
