ARTEMIS Type Naples: "The Goddess of the hunt is shown advancing rapidly, her quiver slung around her body. With her left hand she lifted an edge of her dress, whilst in her right she held a bow and arrows. Statue in the archaizing style of the early Imperial period, also known from other examples. White fine-grained greek marble with traces of red paint on the robe, inserted eyeballs were made of different material. Probable provenance - residential building [Caserta, Campania ?], was stolen [1994] from the area of Caserta, recovered [2001] in Switzerland. 1 AD.
