A hooded figured walked up towards the guild. He was pointed in this direction for provisions. Apparently this was the place he should go to look for aide. An inn keeper had given him the tip and hopefully it was out of kindness and not scam.
Kisumi walked carefully around the corner and saw the stables. A beautiful grey horse caught his attention. The thing about Kisumi was he was always a sucker for animals of any kind. The large mare just gave him that doe eyed expression and he couldn’t help himself from stopping to greet the other before heading inside.
“Aren’t you a beauty…” he murmured gently towards the other, his hand pressed gingerly to her stout. The mare seemed calm and pressed further into his touch that only filled Kisumi with warmth in his chest as he allowed himself a moment to appreciate the animal. Business could wait.
On The Recent Artemiy Kopych Controversy
ADDENDUM (July 30, 2024): Recently, I’ve noticed this post has been getting quite a bit of attention. I don’t regret making it, as the topics mentioned would often get ignored or unjustifiably dismissed at the time of its creation. As such, I will keep it up for informational purposes. That being said, the “breaking point” stuff to the wider public like with NeesterHere and SplatJack seem to have been resolved. There have been several displays of amiciability between those creators and Artemiy which are easily searchable. While some recent Incredibox drama has maybe left their current status up in the air (not that it’s anyone’s business), the drama this post mentions between them, related people, and him at the time has been overall done and dusted. In addition, Artemiy hasn’t - to my knowledge - done anything bad that warrants mentioning since this post has gone up.
This isn’t to suggest I’ll go back to supporting Artemiy. Honestly, I doubt he’d like it either. I also have a general hard time trusting him due to some of our interactions combined with the previous backstory - though to give him credit, he’s a lot better than some other assholes I’ve met in the past few months. But please do not get on anyone for the drama I just mentioned in the previous paragraph/close to the end of this post. It’s likely a dead horse.
…
If you’ve frequented the Incredibox community for a decent amount of time, you’re probably familiar with an individual by the name of Artemiy Kopych. Artemiy is best known for his gameplay and review videos of Incredibox, as well as a few other video games including Friday Night Funkin’ in the past. By Incredibox fandom standards, he is very popular. With a subscriber count of over 60K as of this writing, he is the second most subbed to primary Incredibox YouTuber (only surpassed by MateoForFun). Artemiy is not immune to controversy, though.
Recently, there have been several allegations levied against him. These include allegations of him harassing other content creators, being aggressive towards several artists - to the point of trying to guilt trip one after they were uncomfortable drawing suggestively, using people to threaten other people, and just being a toxic person in general. Artemiy did make a now unlisted apology video to address some of these:
He did provide some screenshots of his poor actions along with his confessions. However, he was a bit vague at certain points and glossed over the allegation of him attempting to guilt trip an artist after they were uncomfortable with an art request he made.
I should preface this by saying a few things. Firstly, I’m not really involved with the situation at hand. I did comment negatively on one of Artemiy’s community posts (which I’ll be going into later) and contacted him in private once in a conversation which went badly, but that’s about the extent to which I had any involvement - if you can even call it that. I’m otherwise just an ex fan of his that used to watch his content a lot and liked and commented on his videos.
Secondly, I have not been able to find proof (screenshots, call recordings) of all the allegations. In particular, I’ve been looking all over several platforms but have not been able to find any screenshots of the aforementioned suggestive artwork situation. It’s very possible these could come up in the future. But as long as nothing on that comes up, I’ll be holding off judgement on that case.
Thirdly, unless it turns out that Artemiy’s a straight up abuser, bigot, or the like, I do not wish for him to be cancelled completely. I don’t wish any actual harm on him, and I hope you’ll do the same. Regardless of what’s happened, he’s been through a lot these past few years - including witnessing a literal war. This post is not a tool for harassment. Please do not harass Artemiy or anyone else involved.
The purpose of this post I’m making is to show that Artemiy’s recent poor actions are almost certainly part of a pattern. Similar behavior has occurred over the past few years, and this should not be swept under the rug. While his recent apology video is somewhat decent if you ignore the other allegations, after everything that has happened I’m not really sure I can trust him.
At either the end of 2021 or the beginning of 2022, Artemiy made a video titled “My 2021 Struggles”. It is now off his channel, and I’m not sure if it’s unlisted or private now. I thankfully have a backup of it:
In this clip of the video, Artemiy mentions being kicked out of a game mod team/friend group due to misunderstandings and drama. He stated he was hurt by this. He also vents about people wrongly perceiving him as a bad person. As someone who’s been in a situation where I was exiled from a community due to being ganged up on and taken wildly out of context, I can somewhat get where he’s coming from. But he leans rather hard on the statement that he “did not hurt (people) intentionally” and that he “didn’t do anything personally”, not to mention using his poor mental health a lot. He also mentions being “aggressive” and “screaming a lot” while simultaneously saying that is not him. This video did ring a small warning bell when I first watched it, but due to lacking a lot of context and the fact that he seemed generally nice in his videos I didn’t really think much of it.
But as you can tell from the existence of this post, that’s just the beginning. After several months, Artemiy reached 50 000 subscribers. He made a video to celebrate this milestone. This video is also now gone from his channel. I once again don’t know if it’s deleted or just unlisted. Unfortunately, I don’t have a backup copy of this one. What I do remember was that some parts of it sounded vaguely similar to the “My 2021 Struggles” one in the worst way possible. I’m just going off my memory though, so take this with a grain of salt.
Time passed, and Artemiy made a 5th channel anniversary video. As of this writing, that one is still up:
In addition to celebrating five years of his channel, he also vents a bit about the stressful situations in his life. At one point, he mentions losing a lot of friends and being rough. Here’s a clip of some of that:
It wasn’t focused on as heavily, so I still didn’t think too much of it. I did start to become a bit more suspicious though…
…That is, until a few months later. Artemiy announced in a community post he would be taking a hiatus from social media.
Hi, my name is Artem. I'm Ukrainian boi. I love making videos about such game called "Incredibox". If you're a fan of such game, you should
Why? First of all, stress (pretty understandable). But it was also because he got called out by people for being toxic and passive aggressive. Does he apologize? Yes. But it comes in a package consisting of him blaming his poor mental health and insecurities, calling it unintentional, and blaming other people for his outbursts. This frustrated me, so I left a rather negative comment on the community post:
Surprisingly, Artemiy actually responded to it. Unsurprisingly, he hid the comment. Around this time, I was privately in contact with him. I have been asked to keep the conversation content private, so I won’t be going into what it was about. But that conversation was the final straw for me when it came to Artemiy, so I stopped watching his content frequently.
Months passed, and this is where things really started to heat up. Discussions and screenshots of his poor behavior cropped up in some Incredibox Discord servers - including those of SplatJack and NeesterHere. As a result, many people turned against Artemiy. This spurred Artemiy to make the now unlisted allegation addressing/apology video. It was met with a mixed response, and Neester made a community post criticizing it:

And here we are now. Despite the fact that I already stopped watching Artemiy a while back and the fact that I wasn’t really involved in the main situations, I can’t help but feel a little disappointed. Artemiy was a huge inspiration for me to start making YouTube videos, even if my channel focus was and is completely different from his. I didn’t idolize him. But I did respect him, and it’s sad to see it all came to this.
I don’t think he’s irredeemable. If he properly addresses everything and makes a good apology, I might come back to his content after a while if he proves himself to not repeat the behavior.
But as is, I just can’t support him.
