So in mythology we're learning about the matriarchal society, because in the middle east it was believed that we lived as that kind of community until the patriarchy took over, and it's a whole thing but since my brain is rotted with Magi all I could think of was Artemyra and how there's no way that Ohtaka didn't know this stuff when designing that country
ESPECIALLY since it almost displays the exact same themes as most creation myths do with the patriarchy (Sinbad) defeating the matriarchy (Queen Artemyra) because he was better in terms of magical ability, which is explained in the story told in the Enuma Elish
But with that comes some pretty dark stuff that I find interesting
In a matriarchal society the youngest daughter is the most important in the family (as opposed to the eldest son) which makes Pisti Mira's most important child out of her many daughters
Pisti's sisters (especially the older ones) actually might be products of *ahem* incest because in the past matriarchal society the Queen would take a king for a year that would either be her brother or her son, and when they died it would be a youth that symbolized her son
And the reason they would only be king for a year is because at the end of that year that king would be sacrificed to the mother earth and the priestess would eat their flesh to gain their powers of fertility and then their blood would be poured onto the crops in order to secure a healthy harvest
There's other things as well like women being head of the households so they would stay at home with their brothers to help raise their children while their husbands stayed in their mother's homes to help with his sister's kids, etc.
And I'm thinking there's no way Ohtaka didn't know that
So now I'm over here assuming that Artemyra just functions exactly like this and I would not be surprised if it really did
Unless there's something in the manga that I'm missing, I haven't read the SnB/AoS manga so I don't know for certain
