December 1987 edition of the Radio Times commemorating 100 years of Sherlock Holmes
Sherlock Holmes's Fatal Hour (1931) is the first film I've seen that draws attention to Mrs. Hudson bringing up food for Holmes and Watson as something unusual. In the Victorian era, of course gentlemen wouldn't do their own cooking; they wouldn't have even had a kitchen in their flat, but clearly by the 1930's that had changed.
went to a new (to me) used bookstore today and found some absolute BANGERS. sherlock holmes v. dracula feels particularly appropriate considering the fic i am currently working on
