Ask game time!
Something thing you struggle to draw?
How many artstyles can you work in confidently?
Whats something youre proud of about your artstyle?
Heeey!!!!! Thanks so much for playing the ask game!!!
1. Something that I struggle to draw?
I do have trouble freehanding more geometric shapes since I still have shakey hands. I will use rulers, references, and tracing because I'm a trained illustrator and imma use all my tools. I also still struggle with drawing feet because imma be honest feet weird me out to look at. But I'm able to freehand that.
I don't like drawing cars... so no cars from me XD.
2. How many art styles can you work in confidently?
Probably just my own, which is a mixture of anime and classical painting. I do think I could draw a pretty good Gohan... (i kinda wanna draw Gohan), but I doubt I'm going to do well with say, something that's little more abstract. I'm pretty secured in my drawing niche. I don't tend to experiment too much I guess.
3. What's something you're proud of about your artstyle?
How I'm rendering skin at the moment. I feel like I finally started cracking that all important "can you touch it" feeling that I've always admired from John Singer Sargent's work.
I'm also starting to like how I'm depicting hair atm. It's feeling more organic.

3. What ideas come from when you were little?
11. Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what?
14. Any favorite motifs?
Aaaaahh!! Hello, I've wanted to speak to you for so long!! 👋
3) I don’t think I can point out any ideas from my childhood (other than I'm a fanartist, so the whole thing is from my youth haha!) But I guess when I draw wee cartoons, rather than fanart, I'm heavily influenced by cartoons I watched in the 90s and 00s (Loony Toons, Dexters Lab, Cow and Chicken, Jonny Bravo) 🤔
But my fanart style probably is influenced by kids books illustrations. Idk, thats a good question, I'll need to think about that!
11) No, I have something on the TV playing most of the time and I dip in and out of it. But actually a mainly zone out any noise when I'm concentrating like that and - it sounds crazy but feel like I'm Wasting the Music if I'm not listening to it properly. But I don't feel like I'm wasting the tv 😅 (I was asked this yesterday and Ive had time to thibk about it now!)
14) This is tricky because. I dont always have one set style. But! I do like to take phrases I read and draw them, like little snapshots of what I see in my minds eye. So I guess a motif is like. trying to capture the beauty in different body parts or skin. or things that seem a bit mundane at first glance. But when I read the phrases they sort of rub the inside of my brain and I want to physically see them!
Thank you for the asks! 😊🙇
17 and 28? for the artist ask game :)
17: What’s something you’re confident about in your art?
Hair, eyes and metal! With the latter I fucking struggled, I did so many studies, watched so many tutorials… gold was my nemesis, and now I know how it works 💕
28: What’s a piece you would like to redraw at some point?
Which one of the older ones not, lol?! Well, the other day I thought about the only portrait I did of Canmal and I’d really like to redo that one with a real face claim and so on. I think that was like my third portrait that I did (and it was quite good got that?). Also one of Elenwen that has a lot of potential (tho it will never be as good as that one party dress portrait that I did of her) and one of the earliest I did of Moronturd! I put them below for you, hehe

#3: What ideas come from when you were little
Ohhhh all that I draw that's about stars and space and cosmiscity is what I've been obsessed with since I was a child. That, and the color schemes I use! Because one of my first memories of being a kid is that whenever someone asked "what's your favorite color", i used to, without skipping a beat, say, and in order, "Pink, blue, green, yellow, purple". And I think that shows. I've always been a sucker for very saturated colors- they just hit this part of my brain sooooooo nicely, i think that's definitely something that came from when I was little.
#14 Any favorite motifs
OUUUU that's an interesting one. I really like drawing stars. And hearts. I think you'll find little hearts (especially in clusters of 2-3) littered around all of my doodles and other pieces (I mean, my signature tag literally is a heart and a heartbeat :3) (On that note, i really like heartbeat kinda squiggles too.)
Another motif i think i'd love to use is lightning- except i can never draw it in a way that i like. I think over the years i've replaced that with roses? I love drawing roses. i add them everryyywhere.
Thanks for the ask Aurora!! This was suuuuper fun<333
Weirdly Specific Artist Asks~
adore Ur art, wish I could ask them all but - 4,5 & 20? :)
aw thank you so much!!
I answered 4 in a previous ask so imma skip that one
5. least favorite thing to draw
anything that isn't my ocs LOL. that list includes but is not limited to: machines, animals, portraits of real people (like commissions for family friends, etc.) highly detailed clothing / armor... the list goes on haha
20. a piece from this year that you're really proud of
probably this piece. I'm so happy with how this came out. took a lot more effort than my average piece too and I always think that ups the sentimentality of it haha
thank you for the asks!
35. if you had one piece of advice to give your younger artist self, what would it be?
ARTIST ASK GAME!
Please stop trying to emulate the "retro" style, you literally do not even like it that much WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!!
