alright lords, ladies, losers, and everybody else. if I log onto Pinterest one more time to find stolen artwork I am going to throw hands. it’s to the point of i’m NOT EVEN AN ARTIST. and I am pissed off by it.

@euterpse @ratcarney @roadtohadestown @meetthefatess @kafeino are among those whose art I was able to recognize as stolen/uncredited within 30 seconds.  (edit: pretty sure @xiaxxx is also on this list)

I know that there are some fans whose knowledge/extent of participation in a fandom is making boards on Pinterest. Heck, that’s how I got my start. But when I learned that 95% of the art I loved so dearly was stolen, I STOPPED. deleted all my boards and pins with art on them, etc. 

I won’t publicly post links/names of Pinterest accounts that stole artwork and imported it to Pinterest, because as we all know snitches get stitches, and that’s just flat out rude. If I tagged you in this post or if you are concerned that your artwork (hadestown related) (or great comet too ig) has in fact been stolen please feel free to dm me, I would love to help you find a way to rightly gain credit for your beautiful art that you all worked so hard on.  I understand that this is a problem that is near impossible to solve and stop completely, but I want to be able to contribute in any way I possibly can. In the future, let’s remember that REPOSTING ART WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF THE ARTIST, ESPECIALLY WITHOUT CREDIT, IS NOT COOL.

Since I haven’t really made it clear on here, I do not allow reposting of my artwork even with tagging.

Some people migh ask “Why? You’re credited” yeah but that’s not the point. The pictures people rip from wherever else I posted are already compressed for that web platform. Ripping them and posting them here leaves them pixelated and grainy. Now where I have spent several hours drawing details into that picture you can now no longer see.

Also engagement- I really do love seeing what you guys have to say about my work and I like to try and answer everyone who comments! Sometimes I even get to share my creative process or sketches with you! But I don’t get to see any of that if I’m just tagged in my own artwork. I won’t see any comments, likes, or reblogs. 

Please understand that even though you may have good intentions, reposting artwork that isn’t yours- especially without asking- hurts the artist.

It’s a general rule that reposting artwork that isn’t your own is bad, but if you’re unsure it’s allowed please at least ask before you do that. It is not your work to share and some artists only want their work on certain platforms. Please be respectful.

Art Theft (Signal Boost)

Hey I’m still depressed as fuck but I noticed this while googling one of my old deviations for kicks but there’s this website called GraphicsBuzz that I think reposted some of my art without my permission. Now there’s some old deviations and even some of my recent ones and what the fuck man. This shit never happens to me.

Now it looks like this site is still at least crediting me and even linking back to the original deviations themselves (and also adding stuff from my old favorites or even just that have “requiem” in the title) but this is what their “about” section says...

“www.graphicsbuzz.com - graphics with a buzz! , huge collection of free graphics on this website we have a large resource of free graphics and vector images feel free to browse and download for use in your own projects or use as inspiration to design your own in photoshop!”

They’re basically portraying my artwork as free stock to use. Like again, what the fuck. I’ve never had this happen to me before and it’s kind of pissing me off. Not to mention, even their contact page looks buggy. I’m just posting this to get the word out there and if you go there yourselves, be careful because every time I went onto the “contact” and “about” page a weird pop-up came up so God only knows what kind of viruses or trojans this piece of shit website has. I don’t know if it’s just an algorithm that’s trolling for the artwork but still, they shouldn’t be happening.

I do NOT give my permission for my artwork to be used this way by any means.

This is a complete invasion to me and incredibly demotivating and disrespectful. My watermark can STILL BE SEEN in some of the pictures.

I have already filed DMCA’s with no response

people saying that you should be "honored" when people trace over your artwork bc they "liked it so much" is honestly the dumbest shit. yeah what an honor that someone traced over something that i put time, work and effort into. what an honor that someone is getting recognition over artwork that isnt truly theirs. what a fucking honor that my artwork is "good enough" to be stolen. its a fucking joke. "imitation is the highest form of flattery". stop making excuses for art theft. stop justifying that. stop

ATTENTION ALL ARTISTS!! SIGNAL BOOST!!

So today I was looking on the site redbubble.com for homestuck related things and I happened upon one of my friends artworks of Kankri Vantas. She hasn't given anyone permission to sell her artwork! The person's username on there is Charlienitram29 and this person has another artists artwork on there as well. I do not know if they gave this person permission so I advise you all to be very cautious about your artwork! If you happen to reblog someones artwork and see it on here afterwards please notify them immediately! Theft of someones artwork is not cool!
