‘Like a rainbow child, An indigo Wild
Having brazen Life, infatuated in rife
Believing in angels drenched in patrichor
Guiding me through every node Weaving magic and Designing the Dreams
Thus inspiring silhouettes in between .’
Being born and brought up in Mumbai, city of dreams, the hope of millions, an exuberant energy - a vibe that’s resilient with heart of every young soul in the world. I got an opportunity to get admitted in a fashion school right at the heart of Mumbai with mentors who sculpted our minds with Art Appreciation, Design Studies, Pattern making and Draping, History of World costumes and IndianCostumes. They truly opened a new dimension of not just in learning but the whole thought process of living life.
I was passionately drawn towards art and was influenced greatly by fauvism, the hues of Paul Cezanne, Georges Seurat largely spell bounded on my work. I displayed impressionist art and presented work with wide array of colours in most of my works. In fact, these have been my early influences which quite showed my interests in Costume work of my professional life too.
Travelling two drastic cultures of modern civilization United States of America and an ethnic culture of Japan gave a fresh spectrum of balance and has only matured me to bring in many layers in a garment. Fluidity of kimonos and me belonging to country of a zillion kind of drapes broadened me to see deconstruction in a never before way of seeing fashion. I give due credit to my extensive rigorous travel in India too.
Today however I am drawn to influences of what sensitises me. When I look within, I perceive that art moves us humans, us people. Sincerely, I am only dedicated on grounding myself as this unique masterpiece.
