I went to see a musical adaptation of a Shakespearean play at my local theatre and while I was sceptical at first, they won me over when the fight scene began with someone playing the darth vader theme on a kazoo.

"No?" Castiel echoes, dumbly.

As You Will has to be the shortest fic rec on this blog, but I don’t care. This fic has it all: marriage proposals, misunderstandings, angst, and a happy ending!

This story takes place during the Victorian era, and Castiel Engel is the fifth son of a Grand Duke. He asks Dean to marry him before the fic even starts - the opening line is actually Dean’s rejection of his proposal.

It’s frankly amazing how much ache Kototyph can cram in 1.8k. My heart twinges every time Cas mulls over the reasons for Dean’s unequivocal “no” and outright aches as Cas is forced to explain the situation to Gabriel (with plenty of self-loathing in his retelling).

Gabriel has fantastic protective big bro energy, and says my favorite line of all Destiel fics when confronting Dean: "Fascinating," Gabriel remarks snidely, folding his arms. "You are without a doubt the least intelligent being I have ever seen on two legs, and that includes most orders of poultry."
