January 25, 2026, American rock climber Alex Honnold made history by completing the first-ever free solo ascent of the Taipei 101 skyscraper in Taiwan, scaling the 1,667-foot (508-meter) structure without ropes or safety gear.

Even though I've posted it before, I still hear him saying this in my head every time I look at this photo. Made me wonderfully sentimental today and drove me to get another section of the home office plastered and taped off and ready to prime tomorrow, despite this horrible headache making me drag my feet. Really want to get it finished so I can get stuff set up in there where I'll have a quiet place to write and work on art.

Wish my character didn't have to have the helmet on here, but it's still one of the best photos I ever managed to get with him. ❤️

Today's design dabbling: Revisiting black-and-white, with a dip into some grid-based layout. I tried manually adjusting the title character letterforms as vector curves, but kind of botched it. I didn't go into it with enough of a plan, and the angles and spacing are a mess. Look at that awful S in particular.
