Alternatively, Vertoid (from verto; to turn, swap, alter) – example usage: “I am vertoid. I am vertoid with cats. Cats are my vertoid. I am catverto. I am vertocat.” You may use however you like. Alternative names are encouraged and welcome.

Any type or form of identity that one attributes to altered states of consciousness, altered mental status or altered states of awareness.

Forms of ASC include hypnosis, trance, mania, sleep and dreamstates, psychosis, dissociation, flow, euphoria, tranquility, intoxication (getting high, drunk, buzzed, etc). Many emotions can be intensified to cause ASC (like rage, anxiety, fear or depression.)

Any aspect of ones identity, from interests to appearance to gender to alterhumanity, can be caused, influenced by, or attributed to ASC, either by choice or involuntarily. It can be positive or negative, temporary or permanent even after one returns to their normal waking state.

Can be used on it's own or in combination with what one identifies with/as in their altered state. May be able to suffix what kind of altered state one attributes to their ASCid or simply place the word behind ASCid/vertoid. i.e "psychotic plural ASCid. Manic vertoid with idols. I am genderfluid because of my Intoxicated AMSid." You can state what terms/labels you use within or because of your ASC, too.

Name can be altered to fit what you'd like... Vertotype, otherverto, vertokind, transverto(id), verto(id)gender/ASCgender, etc...

One's identity doesn't have to be any less valid or real because it only exists within an altered state or only exists because of ASC. You may want to use this term because the identities you have while in ASC are important to you or affect you in a notable way, or you want to communicate what identity(ies) are due to ASC, or why you identify a certain way.

No flag as of yet, everyone is free to make their own flag based on what their experience means to them.
