I feel like with Reunion and what little we know if why Amanda and Max broke up, the song 'Atlantis' fits so well for them. From both POVs. It feels like Amanda didn't really get a say in the break up and Max didn't know how to fix it. I am so sad they had no chance at all. And I am happy for the pricefielders but damn I feel like it would have shown a lot of character progression on Max's part if she had tried for Amanda harder.
Plus if Chloe and Max stay friends it is implied that Amanda still has feelings. As she says she is happy to wait. Girl is so head over heels for Max and man... I wish she got that.

So maybe you haven’t played Reunion or missed it? But the reason Max and Amanda broke up was because Amanda was increasingly paranoid about Max’s powers. If they had a small fight or something happened she would say things like “Don’t rewind this!” Etc.
Then “storm amnesia” kicked in. She started to forget everything that was set up in DE. Two worlds, Max powers, etc. When Max saw the more she forgot, the happier and less scared she was, Max stopped reminding her.
Max couldn’t stay in a relationship with her once she completely forgot. Max still cared for her and loved her absolutely. But it wasn’t right so she broke them up.
And because of this Amanda canonically doesn’t understand why the broke up because they work so well together. Yet when Chloe mentions that Max has a feeling of the fire Amanda is instantly like “No whatever that girl says, I believe.” Love writing the contridicts itself lol She also still holds feelings for Max depending on how a players play through goes. (I got this option in mine).
WITH ALL THAT SAID.

I don’t see Amanda being that paranoid. Storm amnesia was a cop out. Personally, for me. Bad writing.
BUT,
If I had to go with what the game gave us, Max comes back to Caledon pretty quickly. She’s apologizes to Safi for leaving and really makes her see she’s there for her.
And Amanda? Yeah, Max comes back for her, HARD. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it. Amanda says she wants to be found and Max won’t ever stop looking for her this time around.
That’s my head canon.
