it just occured to me that if Galli can create ice in Cusmo, a desert city... he can freeze the ground and we can do ICE SKATING. For fun and dates. Potentially. 😍

Freezing the entire city might expend enough energy to put him in a coma, but I bet he'd do it if Asfia asked, haha! But who knows how powerful Galen is.

I feel like I just adopted Heka, Gally and that iced kid all in one go this update. Why are there so many poor kids running around unparented? Alright, technically, Heka has an amazing mom and isn't a kid, but seeing that room has not even any decent bedding and he's basically chilling in a crypt? Kid. Gally has a guardian and can take care of himself, but he clearly needs some care and attention. I loved that Yusra went from "have to protect Asfia" to realizing Gally is even younger and also just a kid and went immediately to needing to feed him. That's my guild parent number three! The third kid is adopted simply to spite the Jackals to be honest and to show that look street urchins. You can go be abused and starved and sold or just come to us, get fed, learn stuff and have real friends. It's a total propaganda move, but also... kid needs monitoring. And maybe to not report back to the Jackals that there's a battle mage running around our guild. ....I have a feeling they will find out regardless, but Gally's role will strictly be guarding the other kids. And maybe learning to read and write? Thanks Asfia for basically recruiting a really overpowered bodyguard for yourself, you really are my MCs favorite kid. (also bc she was trying to feed the kid even after he acted weird and threatened her, so proud!)

I loved this ask and now that the main demo is out, I can finally respond!

I really love the kids in the story, and it's so fun to see the reactions you as readers have to them too!

It seems like Amatus would definitely agree with you on the adoption/recruitment business model.

Asfia really has it going on right now. She's pretty much ringleader of the kids in Lower Cusmo, and now she has a battlemage following her around. It's interesting that you brought up Galen protecting the other children. (Muhuhuhahaha!)

Hi! It’s totally ok to ignore this but I was wondering if there could be more side stories in your Patreon with some of the side characters 👉👈

Specifically, I was really curious on how Amatus got Yusra (and Asli) as cooks for the guild! I’m also especially curious on how she reacted to seeing our MC again after everything haha

Personally, my MC has basically already mentally adopted the two as family! I headcanon that when my MC met Asli again they’d conclude that if anything happens to her then they’ll kill everyone in the room and then themselves.

My MC, after interacting with baby/toddler Asfia for the first time: “I’ve only met Fia for one hour, but if anything happened to her, I would kill everyone in this room and then myself.”

SHE’S SO CUTEEEE!! I know Fia only appeared for like 2-ish? pages but me and my MC are literally willing to kill for her 😭

Yusra’s got a free bodyguard for her kid and I blame it on Amatus for (unknowingly) passing down his mama duck instincts 🥺

Is Yusra doing better now? I honestly wish that she and Kamau have happy lifes, not neccessarily together but just... they're both so sweet, I want them to be happy😭

You see her after the prologue! She was hired by Amatus to work in the guild and you meet her daughter Asfia too.

So she's doing better...for now.

She still has the same husband and Kamau is still working in the mines.

But things can change.
