It’s been kind of a shitty time this week. But I now have some major distraction.

I have access to HBOgo and Starz online service. I have a bunch of series to watch now.

Tax Season

Every other tax season, mum pays to upgrade my PC as payment for my doing her taxes, and for keeping her laptop running.

We had to get a GPU last year, so that part’s been skipped. But I just ordered a Ryzen 9 3900X, Asus ROG Strix X570-E motherboard, and a Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB (2x16GB) kit.

I eventually need to get another SSD, but my current SSD and HDDs can manage for now.

It’ll all be here by Saturday, and once everything’s set up, I’ll be getting back to doing stuff on Twitch. I was getting a bit of lag any time I tried to play Star Wars - Jedi: Fallen Order along with some weird sound stuttering. Hopefully, it’s smooth once I upgrade.

Extended Hiatus from XIV

I’m taking a break from XIV, with no set time on when that’ll change.

The past year and a half, two years have had way more bad than good in them. A lot of the bad has come specifically from being involved in XIV. As more and more incidents occurred, the more I questioned whether or not sticking around was a good idea or not.

While I’m not cancelling my subscription, I’m not going to be doing any community-based shite. I might log in to try and keep up on content, or to decorate one of the living spaces I have, but most...I’m just done with XIV right now.

Everything has just left me with the lowest amount of faith in people I’ve had in the past 10 - 20 years. I really can’t think of any other thing I’ve been involved with that’s resulted in this much apathy and lack of desire for interaction.

The content-focus for this Tumblr’ll probably change because of this. If you started following for the XIV content, unfollowing now is totally understandable.

I’m just very done.

It’s Amazing...

...how the moment a person becomes single, IC or OOC, the vultures descend and start pushing the person for a romantic relationship. No one gives people time to go through the stages that occur after the end of a relationship anymore. They don’t seem to react well to the words “I have no interest in romance right now”, and some even argue against it.

It’s really pissing me off. Be my friend (or my character’s friend) to actually be my friend, not to try and get me (or my characters) into a new relationship before I’m (or they’re) ready for it.

Is that really too much to ask for?

More Updates

Obviously, I am still alive and getting a bit better.

I’m forcing myself to lay down whenever the pain starts to ratchet to 7 (it’s tending to sit at 6 or so) to avoid another trip to the ED.

Sometime today (Monday), the OTC version of lidocaine patches along with some thick silk tape to keep them from slipping off due to movement, thanks to the free next day delivery a lot of Prime options have now. The back of the neck’s kind of a horrible place for patches, because even the smallest turns of your head cause them to mess up. That thick silk tape worked amazingly well to keep them on.

Hopefully, that and the lesser quality CBD oil I have (it’s still decent quality, just not Canna Trading level) should keep me semi-functional till the medicinal THC card turns up.

Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance

I just started watching this, and the opening narration alters the original lore for the setting. A lot.

Immediate worry.

They at least seem to have gotten the original Skeksis VAs, or people who can copy their voices close enough.

IDK why, but I’m having a random flare of contact dermatitis.

Fabrics of any type either hurts or causes extreme amounts of itching. Air from like the exhausts of the PC or from the heaters causes pain.

A shower helped, but GDI...this sucks.
