This book was all about Ashley Patterson suffering an illness called MPD (multiple personality disorder). I've heard about that disorder some time before, this book just shone a new light to it, I think. Ashley has two alter egos..Namely, Toni Prescott and Alette Peters. Toni's the dominating one..She's quite a party girl and loves to interact with people through the internet. Ashley's the quiet and bashful one. As I read through the pages, I sense that there's a subtle elegance that lies within her. Alette Peters is more or less like Ashley for me. She's just more into arts and museums. PLUS she's very talented at painting. Ashley's sickness has been caused by a traumatizing experience from her childhood. Believe me, I was utterly gobsmacked when I found out WHAT happenings triggered that disorder to engulf her. MPD made Ashley do horrid stuff..specifically...killing men and then castrating them right after. Yes, you might be grossed out like I was upon knowing that she committed those crimes...But I guess I understood why in the end.
I'd rate this book : 2 out of 5 stars. Honestly, I can say that Sidney Sheldon has written more brilliant books than this one. Nevertheless, it's really interesting and a page-turner! :)
