Darla Dimple
Darleen ‘Darla’ Dimple had been a hugely successful child star in the golden age of Broadway musicals. Although she presented herself as sweet and innocent in her performances, behind the scenes she was a cruel, entitled and egomaniacal tyrant. Darla believed she was owed limitless attention and admiration and she bullied and intimidated anyone who stood in the way of her getting what she wanted.
Darla took great offense when Danny Cat auditioned. She held a bigoted attitude that animals should be relegated to small, supporting roles and never be the star of the show. Threatened by Danny’s talent, Darla set in motion dangerous schemes to ensure Danny’s failure.
Darla orchestrating a disaster where the theater was flooded and framed Danny for the occurrence. Later, she boasted to Danny how she was actually responsible for the flood, unaware that she was near a boom microphone that broadcasted her words to the entire audience as well as the theater's owners. It resulted in Danny’s being exonerated and Darla’s career was ruined.
Actress Ashley Peldon voiced the villain in the 1997 animated feature film, Cats Don't Dance.
