So in the video where you rewrite sapphire, you said that stars are important to gem religion, does this means something about the crystal crusaders simbol(a star) or i just thinking too much?
Second does the gems in this rewrite messed up the earth so much to the point of changing continents like the original?
Also last but not less important does the su starlight human history timeline is different from the original su or its exactly the same?
Sorry if im bothering you,i just got really curious about your rewrite and im someone who loves lore and worldbuilding o(≧▽≦)o
OOF it’s been so long since i’ve talked about my SU rewrite but trust im still thinking of it
1) alright so in SU: Starlight, early gems pre-diamond empire worshipped celestial bodies and revered them as gods (seen with Lapis Lazulis and the moon). the most popular gem religion was, of course, star worship. 4-pointed stars specifically symbolized divine power (for lore reasons yet to be revealed).
when the Crystal Crusaders were formed, gem religions had been dead for millennia, so they adopted the star motif and added an extra point to symbolize reconciliation (tied into lore as well).
2) i know russia was obliterated in SU as a “fuck you” to overseas censorship but i can’t recall if any in-show reason was given lol. so in this AU russia was left alone due to the permafrost and also gem hunters (will elaborate). places like deserts were attempted to be used as kindergartens, but the harsh conditions and lack of resources to drain led to defects like Amethyst, so it was abandoned. Earth is very small yet much more full of life compared to Homeworld, so most kindergartens were lost to time and flora.
3) racism doesn’t exist in this world (hooray!) because humans were way too busy fighting alien gems off their turf. however, with most gems defaulting to what we perceive as feminine, it’d be an interesting idea if that were the cause for misogyny on Earth. also nearly every culture’s reason for wearing gems shards as jewelry stemmed from hunters wearing shattered gems as trophies. the bigger the shard, the harder the fight. humans can adapt to their environment, but gems aren’t programmed for that, which is how humans won in the first place (kill living rock with bigger rock!).
perhaps a small amount of humans began to worship gems? they’d probably see the diamond invasion later in the show as some sort of doomsday event lmao
tysm for the ask! i hope this wasn’t all over the place! i too love lore and worldbuilding ❤️
