You and Jake are on a road trip to visit his sister and you have the most important job, passenger princess.

You leaned your head against the window, watching the scenery go by in a blur. Jake had insisted that instead of flying to see his sister in New Mexico, the two of you should drive the 700 miles instead.
The thought of a 12 hour drive hadn't been appealing at first but Jake knew how to convince you. Sitting in his truck in the Hard Deck parking lot he had pulled you into his lap, kissing you senseless before lavishing your neck with attention, bruising the delicate skin while your noises filled the cab. Knowing you were putty in his hands, that's when Jake asked,
"Don't you want to be my passenger princess, darlin'?" When you finally gave in, he made sure you had nothing but good memories of the passenger seat (and the backseat just to be safe).
Now you were curled into yourself in the passenger seat with one of Jake's larger hands resting on your thigh, fighting off a yawn and failing.
"Take a nap, darlin',"
"M'not tired." You spotted a sign for one of the nicer gas stations, "Get off here, baby. I just need some sugar."
"I can give you some sugar," Jake dropped his voice making you giggle.
"Shut up," He laughed as you batted his hand off your thigh for wandering too far and took the exit as requested.
Jake guided you into the gas station, his hand in your back pocket. He kept himself pressed against your back, making sure no one even thought about coming near you and even though it was a tad over protective, you loved it. Jake was always like this in new places, not trusting strangers anywhere near you.
"What does my girl want for her snack, hmm?" He kissed your neck as you debated your options.
"I'm between the gummy bears and the M&Ms." Jake grabbed both and guided you towards the drinks,
"Is there a reason you're rushing me, Lieutenant?" He squeezed your ass,
"Just want to get back on the road and to our hotel room."
"We'd be there by now if we had flown," You laughed, grabbing two waters and a soda from the coolers. "But no, someone just haaaaaad to drive." Jake shook his head at you, stealing a chaste kiss that left you wanting more as he paid and pulled you back to the truck.
Despite the candy and caffeine, you fell asleep not long later with Jake's hand holding yours, his thumb smoothing over your knuckles. When you woke up a few hours later you blindly reached for your gummy bears, only to find the pack empty.
You want to enjoy a night in bed with your husband but he has to study for a test.

“What are you reading, Bobby?” You snuggled up to your husband in bed, worming your way under one of his strong arms to rest your head on his chest. Bob chuckled, kissing your temple.
“F-18 NATOPS, boring stuff, princess.” You slipped a hand under his plain, white tee shirt, softly tracing his abs.
“Can I persuade you to do something more interesting?”
“Better than anyone I know,” Bob adjusted how he was holding the manual so he could pull you more on top of him. His hand slid beneath your waistband, resting on your bare thigh. “But I’ve got to study for this test tomorrow or Cyclone is going to chew me out.”
You sighed, kissing his chest before relaxing into him fully. He smelled like your body wash, he liked to use it when he was stressed. Bob said that being surrounded by your scent made him relax better than anything else in the world.
You loved your husband, he was the sweetest man on earth. He was always coming home with flowers or your favorite snacks just because. Bob made sure you never wanted for anything, at least not for long. If you looked at something for too long in a shop but left without it, or mentioned something you liked in passing, you’d find it on your bedside table within a few days.
“Read it to me?”
“It’ll put you to sleep, princess,” Bob chuckled, turning the page. “You just want to hear my voice, don’t you?”
“Yes, please,” You kissed his chest, eyes fluttering shut.
“Chapter twenty, extreme weather conditions. In freezing conditions, water draining beneath the left engine…” Bob’s voice lulled you to sleep, his thumb smoothing comfortingly across your thigh.
The next morning you woke up to an empty bed, Bob having already gone into work. You rolled over, smiling at the sight of a small bag from your favorite store on your nightstand. Leaning against the bag was a note.

Natasha knew it was coming from the moment she ejected. She knew they would call her emergency contact and she knew you would drop what you were doing to rush to her side. She also knew you'd be mad as hell.
"Natasha Trace," The gaggle of big, strong, pilots surrounding her bed parted like the Red Sea at your angry tone. "I am too young to be a widow."
You stomped past her squad without a glance to them, focused solely on your wife, who besides a few bandages and the IV in her arm looked perfectly fine.
"You're married?" Rooster and Hangman exclaimed together, looking between Phoenix and her wife in surprise. You didn't notice, grabbing Natasha by the chin, twisting her head to get a better look at her injuries.
"Baby girl, I'm fine. Just a few bumps and scrapes,"
"Is Bob okay?" You looked around, spotting the backseater lying in the bed on the other half of the room, asleep. Your anger dissipated, always quick to start and quick to leave. "Oh, Bob."
"He's okay, just tired," Maverick assured you but you crossed the room to inspect him as well. Natasha smiled softly, watching you smooth the man's hair off his forehead.
"You're married?" Hangman asked quietly, pointing at you as if you were an apparition. "To her?"
"For two years this June," Natasha beamed proudly, pulling our her dig tags and showing the delicate silver band that hung there. "She is the love of my life."
"Damn right," You kissed Bob's forehead before rejoining your wife, kissing her on the cheek. Natasha was enjoying the look of shock on everyone's faces and by the embarrassed giggled you smothered by burying your face in Natasha's neck, she knew you were too.
"Why the secret?" Fanboy asked, eyebrow quirked. Natasha shrugged,
"Had a bad experience with a squad once when they found out I was gay."
"That won't be a problem here," Maverick said in a tone that left no room for argument. "Come on, guys, let's leave Phoenix to get lectured my the missus in private."
"No, no, you can stay," Natasha pleaded when your glare returned. "Please?"
"Not a chance," Rooster laughed. "Maybe if I had been invited to the wedding." The door wasn't even shut for five seconds before you launched into a worried tirade but Natasha took it all, holding your hand, promising that when she got cleared by the doctors, she'd show you just how fine she was.
Bob helps take care of you during your time of the month.

You had been in pain all day, suffering through the cramps and moodiness in silence throughout work. When you finally got back to your apartment you were ready to cry in frustration but the first thing you saw on the counter was a note from your boyfriend, Bob. He must have stopped by while on lunch. You picked up the note first, smiling at his messy handwriting.
Hi princess,
I’ll be over as soon as I’m finished with my hops. Don’t worry about dinner, I’ve got it covered. Take a bath and relax, I left a few things in the bathroom for you.
Love,
Bob xoxo
Bob was your perfect man. A goddamn unicorn as far as you were concerned. He took you on cute dates, texted you sweet nothings throughout the day to let you know he was thinking of you, and always knew just how to take care of you.
You weren’t sure how he always knew when you were on your period. When you were more likely to be frustrated, when you’d be a teary mess, and when you needed nothing more than to be held. Your period wasn’t something you talked about which made it all the more special that he had figured it out down to a science how to handle it.
When you opened the bathroom door, tears pooled in your eyes. There was a bath bomb sitting on top of a folded set of his pajamas, which he knew you loved to wear. Bob had known exactly what you needed without having to be asked or told and it just made you love him more.
You had just finished getting dressed when you heard the front door open, Bob calling out your name. You wasted no time joining him. He was standing in your kitchen, preparing a hot water bottle for you.
“How’s my princess doing?” Bob held out his arms and you rushed into them, practically dead weighting against him. With his arms wrapped around you, you couldn’t help but start crying, letting out all of your frustration from the long day of suffering silently. “Let it all out, shh, I’ve got you.” Bob kissed your hair, running a calming hand up and down your back.
“Can we watch a movie?” You sniffled, looking up at him. “And cuddle?” Bob kissed your forehead then your nose and finally your lips.
“Of course, princess. I called for delivery from that place down the street, it’ll be here soon.” He led you to the couch, sitting down against the arm, long legs taking up all of the cushions. You laid between his legs, placing the heated water bottle between you and the cushion, and rested your head on his chest. Bob pulled a blanket over the two of you.
“I love you,” You wrapped your arms around him, eyes drifting shut at the feeling of being totally relaxed, surrounded by the man you wanted to marry someday.
“I love you too,” Bob put on your favorite movie before returning your hug, one of his hands slipping beneath your shirt to rest on your bare skin. “Now just relax, I’m going to take care of you.”
Bob comes over to find you utterly exhausted from work and takes care of you.

Bob was looking forward to seeing you. You had been stretched so thin at work for the past two weeks that you had barely had time to text him, let alone see him and it was driving him crazy. The two of you had only been dating for a few months but he was obsessed, having printed out a picture of you for his locker, flight suit, and to have in the backseat of the jet. The guys had teased him mercilessly for it but he wasn't ashamed. He knew you were the one and wanted everyone to know it too.
Bob had seen you at your best and at your worst but the scene he walked in on, letting himself in with the key you'd given him just a few weeks prior, had him worried. You were standing in the middle of the kitchen with your eyes shut and your hands over your ears, face scrunched in what looked like pain.
"Princess, what's wrong?"
"I don't know," Your voice cracked and as he slowly approached, taking in the details around you, it clicked for him. You were still in your work clothes even though you should have been off a few hours ago, your body was swaying, and there were deep bags under your eyes. You were exhausted. Bob kicked himself for not taking better care of you, letting it get this far.
"I've got you, princess," Bob gently pulled your hands away from your ears, kissing your palms, then your nose, and both of your cheeks. "I'm here now and I'm going to take care of you."
"I- I don't know what's wrong," Your voice shook, pulling at Bob's heart strings.
"You're exhausted, sweetheart. Your body is fighting you for pushing it so hard," You groaned in frustration but leaned into Bob's touch as he cradled your face. "Come on, Princess. Let's get you into your pajamas."
Bob lifted you into his arms without issue and you buried your face in his neck. He hated to see you like this but he'd be lying if he said he didn't enjoy taking care of you. He laid you down gently on the bed, grabbed a set of comfy pajamas from your dresser, and then helped you into them. He paused every few seconds to kiss you sweetly, whispering words of affection and affirmation.
"I love you," He kissed your shoulder after pulling on your shirt. "I love you so much."
"I love you too," You crawled into bed, making grabby hands at him when he didn't immediately follow you. Bob chuckled, kicking off his shoes and jeans before joining you in the bed. He laid back against the pillows and you crawled on top of him, resting your head on his shoulder.
Bob hugged you tight, kissing your hair. He could feel the tension leaving your body with each passing minute, loving the way you relaxed into him.
"Take a nap, princess. When you wake up I'll run you a bubble bath and order your favorite for dinner," You hummed happily. "Then I'll rub your shoulders and we can watch that show you like."
"I love you, Bobby," You yawned and then you were out. Bob listened to the soft sounds of your breathing, keeping his arms tight around your waist, and drifted to sleep beneath you.

Tasha’s squad mates had insisted that they meet you after they had spotted a Polaroid of you in her locker. It had been a month since the two of you met at the Hard Deck and things had been going better than you could have dreamed. Tasha liked to come over and meal prep with you, making sure your fridge was filled with meals you could easily heat up at work and when you got home. And she loved the sleep-drunk voice notes you’d send her when you could barely keep your eyes open, rambling on about your day and saying how much you missed her.
But Tasha didn’t want to share you just yet, you wanted to meet her friends eventually, but you weren’t complaining about being able to monopolize her time outside of work. You were slotted between her legs, back against her chest as she flipped through movies, reading out random titles.
“Baby girl, are you listening to me?” You were not but you hummed affirmatively, enjoying the weight of Phoenix’s arm around your waist. “So, you’re okay with a horror movie?”
“Are you going to hold my hand if I get scared?” Tasha chuckled, kissing the top of your head,
“Of course, baby girl. I’ll protect you.” She clicked on the movie and settled back, both arms wrapped around your waist. Your apartment was neat and tidy, the air filled with the scent of popcorn, the candles you lit, flickering in the dark living room setting the perfect atmosphere for a spooky night in.
You severely overestimated your tolerance for scary movies, twenty minutes in you were shaking and jolting at every sound, both from the movie and in the house.
“I’ve got you, baby girl,” Tasha tightened her hold on you. You pulled the blanket higher around you both until it was tucked under your chin. When the music started to pick up, so did your heart rate, but you couldn’t force yourself to look away from the screen, paralyzed in a mix of terror and interest. You did the only thing you could think of, grabbing Tasha’s hands and using them to cover your eyes.
Tasha laughs and your cheeks are hot with embarrassment but it fades when your girlfriend kisses your head.
“It’s okay, sweet girl. The only monster that gets to eat you is me,” You giggled as she nibbled on your ear, the fear you had been feeling lessening. “We can turn it off if you want. All you have to do is ask.”
“I’m okay,” You promised, guiding her arms back around your waist. “But we should watch something silly afterwards.”
“Whatever you want.”
After the movie ended, Tasha turned on some cartoons and shifted you so you were facing her. She kissed you softly and you melted into her, sliding your hands into her hair.
“Is it bad that I kinda want to take you to a haunted house now because I know you’ll jump into my arms for protection?” Tasha teased, you groaned, embarrassed again but she kissed it away. “Don’t worry, I like being your protector.”
How does any one of the Daggers, Colter, Eddie or Buck help you deal with working from home and freaking slow computers that all you want to do is throw them out the window and scream?
👀
I have a feeling I know who this is 🤣💖
💖 Phoenix: She would sit next to you and run her hands through your hair while both soothing your nerves and telling you all of the different ways you could "make the computer suffer too"
🩵 Bob: He'd assume you were hangry and tired since you work too hard, bringing you snacks and a drink, then sitting by your side and listening to you rant if you wanted him to
🧡 Roo: He is not a man known for making great decisions and would try to convince either to 1) take a break and dance with him/make out/go for a drive or 2) go out and buy you a fancy new laptop
💙 Hangman: He would give you the best shoulder massage ever and listen to you rant, occasionally kissing your hair/neck
💘 Colter: He would 100% suggest ditching your job and going freelance with him, that way you wouldn't have to worry about slow computers AND he would bribe you with kisses and spending more time with him
❤️🔥 Eddie: He is a straight up technology hater and would complain with you. Then he'd order your favorite food to make you feel better (he can't cook 😅) and call Buck to see if he can fix the computer
💝 Buck: He would try to fix whatever is wrong with the computer and if all else fails, he disappears for an hour and comes back with a new computer for you. Expect a home cooked meal and snuggles after work
Okay, so technically there's 2 versions of this in the same document but I'll share the one that's longer. This was a magic! AU where Buck is a siphon witch (gets his powers from others) and feels like a burden (Buddie!)
Buck was covered in bruises. It was unavoidable after the shift they had finished. Back to back calls that had required him to use his magic to keep his partner safe. If he didn’t know better, he would have thought someone had said the “Q” word at the start of the shift. The straw that had broken the metaphorical camel’s back had been their final call, a structure fire that had taken two companies to knock down. He and Eddie had been looking for victims when the floor had cracked beneath Eddie’s feet and if it hadn’t been for the fact that Buck’s magic had always worked faster than his brain, Eddie would have fallen at least two stories through the floors.
Buck’s heart had stopped when he heard the crack, followed by the muffled shout of surprise from his partner. Not only had Buck used the last of his dwindling magic supply to catch Eddie, he had also decided to stabilize the floor until the two of them made a quick exit via the outside fire escape. When they had hit solid ground, Eddie had turned around, grabbed Buck’s shoulder, and watched as Buck crumbled to the ground.
Hen had given him an earful, followed by a lecture from Bobby, and Chimney had been giving him the stink eye during both of those. They all had magic of their own but none of their magic worked like Buck’s. Buck was a siphon witch, which meant he didn’t create his own magical energy at the same pace as normal witches. No, Buck, whose biggest fear was being a burden and inconvenience, had to fuel his magic by draining others.
When he had passed out, someone, no one would tell him who, had to have touched him and allowed him to feed off of them. He suspected it was Chimney because the man had immediately made a pot of coffee upon arriving back at the station and drank two cups. If it got back to his sister that Buck had passed out from exhaustion, Maddie would be the next one to lecture him and Buck was not looking forward to that phone call.
Maddie had been warning him since he was a kid that he needed to be careful with his magic, that he needed to feed, for lack of a better term, or else he could die. That hadn’t really been a problem when he was having sex with dozens of random people on a regular basis, it was easy to take a little bit of energy from her and a little more from him, to keep his reservoir full, but since Buck 1.0 had upgraded, the reservoir was more like the cup that philosophers debated on being half-full or half-empty.
“Shit man,” Eddie’s voice pulled Buck out of his thoughts, he had been staring at the bruises in the bathroom mirror, wondering how long it would take for them to fade to the same yellow-green color as the rest. “Come here.”
“M’fine,” He was in fact, not fine, but that was neither here nor there. What Buck needed was to go home, eat his body weight in Thai food, and sleep until his next shift in twenty-four hours. “Don’t you dare,” Buck glared at Eddie when he reached for him and Eddie glared back, undeterred.
“Why won’t you let me help you?” Eddie’s frustration flickered the lights in the bathroom and even if it hadn’t, the frustration was evident on his face. This was a constant point of contention between the two of them. Buck would occasionally (and under protest) feed off of the energy of everyone else in the crew besides Eddie because taking energy from someone hurt and Buck didn’t want to be hurt by Eddie.
“I’ll be fine,” Buck tugged on a shirt, covering the bruises. He didn’t used to care about accidentally taking energy but Christopher and Eddie changed all of that, now he was more careful about wearing long sleeves and had even taken to wearing gloves as an extra precaution. Christopher thought that it was funny and had even convinced Eddie to buy him a pair of gloves, which he called his “Buck Gloves”, so that he could match Buck. “I just need to rest.”
“You do,” Eddie grabbed his arm, pulling Buck in for a hug. “Which is why I stole your keys and you’re coming home with me.” Buck could hear the smugness in Eddie’s voice and couldn’t help but laugh because of course he did. “And we’re going to nap, eat pizza, and watch movies with Christopher.” That sounded perfect. Spending time with the Diaz boys was how Buck wanted to spend every minute of his day and even though he knew that Eddie would try to sneak a few touches in, it would be the best way for him to relax and recover.
“Okay,” Buck sighed into Eddie’s shoulder, leaning his weight onto him as Eddie smoothed his hand up and down Buck’s back. “But only because I don’t want to embarrass you by wrestling my keys from you.” Want to go for the title? The words echoed in Buck’s head, making him smile. Eddie laughed
“Sure, buddy, that’s how that would go,” Buck shook his head, pushing back from Eddie with a chuckle. “Let’s go home.”
-
When Eddie had first met Buck, Buck had been so focused on “establishing dominance” that the younger firefighter didn’t realize he just looked like a pissed off puppy dog the whole time. It was adorable and Eddie had had fun riling him up but all of Buck’s snapping and snarling had changed the second they shook hands and agreed to have each other’s backs. Then the pissed off puppy had turned into a puppy who wanted belly rubs and head pats, which was even more adorable if he was being honest.
Eddie didn’t know how he had gotten through life without Buck before moving to California. He had managed to intertwine himself with every part of Eddie’s life and while Buck liked to make comments saying he forced or wormed his way into Eddie’s life, the way he saw it was more like Eddie had opened the door for Buck to walk through, locked the door behind him, and Buck hadn’t tried to leave since.
Maybe Hen’s jokes about Eddie babytrapping Buck were less of a joke and more of a statement, so what?
The only stressful part of their friendship was Buck’s need to siphon energy. Buck hated that he needed to take energy from others and wouldn’t accept touches from anyone else he was on the brink of death. The 118 crew was always ready to let Buck feed off of their energy but there was a hierarchy to things Eddie had noticed. Buck would grumble the least if it was Bobby and he would sit there the longest, Hen and Chimney could get Buck to hold their hands with enough glaring and threatening, but where Buck drew the line was with Eddie. Eddie was more than willing to hold Buck’s hand, press his forehead against Buck’s, run his hands over Buck’s muscular arms…Help. Eddie was more than willing to help.
“You asleep?” Eddie whispered a little louder than necessary, watching for any signs that Buck was awake. The man was sleeping peacefully, hugging Eddie’s pillow like a teddy bear, snoring softly. Eddie climbed into bed and within seconds found himself pulled against Buck’s chest. Buck being a cuddler had been a happy discovery during quarantine, partially because Eddie was in love with him (which was something he would never admit aloud, even if Frank waterboarded him) and partially because it made it easy for Eddie to slide his hand over Buck’s un-gloved hand and push energy into him without Buck knowing.
Chimney had described Buck siphoning energy like being hooked up to a TENS unit, low grade electrical shocks but for Eddie it felt like stepping into the sun on a cloudy day, warmth washing over him. Buck mumbled in his sleep, nuzzling his face into Eddie’s shoulder but he didn’t wake. Eddie would have loved to fall asleep like this every night, secured in his partner’s arms, giving Buck all of the energy he needed.
