Hate is a strong word, but anyways there's a lot more, but don't worry, if you think I'm biased, David isn't much better. I can tolerate him more because in a survival situation he's probably more reliable. They both suck tho. And so does Gabe lmao. The writers wrote a really... shitty family

Oh Ben, oh boy

I think Ben Paul is great character for the narrative of Season 1. He’s scared, flimsy and makes a shit ton of mistakes. While I don’t really have any personal connection or real “love” for him, I feel like he perfectly rounds up the Season 1 crew.

I believe it was cut content, but the bandits were the same people who… did things to those who lived alongside Ben at his camp, so him being scared of them totally makes sense to me and should genuinely be a common consensus around the fandom.

The one thing I won’t forgive him for doing is living Clem on the street alone, but otherwise I feel like he fulfills his purpose as the scared kid (I think he’s 17-18 tho? Still a kid compared to the others) who can’t seem to get himself together

As for his deaths, I think those are very good actually. The Bell Tower one has good meaning, Ben knows he’s fucked everything up and just wants it to end and Lee can either grant him his wish, or keep belief in him.

The Alleyway death, while I feel like the way he fell was a little flimsy, is a great way to round off his relationship with Kenny and to end his arc of panic in a peaceful way.

All in all, I think when it comes to how he was written, Ben is an A tier character in my opinion. As for my personal favorites, I’d have him Low A-High B.
