Why I like them: I like his repressed yearning swag and his strong moral character and gentleness and a ? Solidness in his ideas of duty and goodness and such that brings him much conflict... And his yaoi relationships and his love for his brother + the positions of him and wangji.. his hektor breaker of horses from an iliad qualities. Isn't it funny how hard it is to describe a good man? He is. A very good man. However he didnt consider the Themes. I like getting to chew on all of this and it makes me very fond of him. ....I also think he's quite handsome in cql, and in mdzs he has big handsome energy that's not at all tied to the in universe attractiveness rankings bc those are just propaganda. I just know he's hot I can sense it (I'm an empath)
Why I don’t: i just like him... ummm i do think hes a corporal punishment apologist as part of his embodiment of a lot of lan sect ideals and well i think he's wrong but this too is fun to play with..

Why I like them: wow I love his everything. His bitchiness and the way he flirts and the silly vulnerability he shows with xcy.. and i like how he's internalized his dehumanization and his edgy monologues about being made of hatred and the sense of guilt and responsibility he feels.. i just really like seeing him all the time because of the way he always seems like he's on this really delicate balance all the time. very enigmatic. very beloved. the way that he met qi huilian sculking around the temple of guilt and qhl was like lets have a fucked up mentor disciple situation and szc yessss and then like five years later qi huilian was like ummm you need to chill you're kind of freaking me out..
Why I don’t: this might just be on me for not paying enough care and attention to puzzling out the politics of it but sometimes i feel like sometimes his political vision doesn't really compel me that much to, like, want him to win over everyone else? Or well generally i think #voteforlanzhou but i do feel like he has his blindsides and especially as his worldview overlaps and clashes against similar ones there's places that don't quite fill out for me. Maybe i'll develop more on the reread. im not super invested in him in

Unpopular opinion: i dont even know what the current state of qjj discourse is. i guess im kind of between positions on how i think szc processes and is deliberate about his feminization and sexualization ? certainly people do say things to him about it and he's aware of it but the extent to which he engages with it / wants to engage with it is something that i think people overplay or view in a wrong way.. ? so to say? szc and women is interesting though in ways i dont see explored a lot.. i mean i think he himself does seem to not have women on his mind that much / not really deviating from the misogyny apparent in society much but that very small strain of his mother's memory and her legacy and the way he's paralleled by two other caged women in the text who become his two major rivals in the book's power plays...
