what motivates you to do med & what got you into the profession?

oh no i didn't see asks i got, my bad!

actually it wasn't my first choice....

first choice - i wanted to study sculpture after my art school (which was during normal school) but i think u understand what happened then

*my both parents are programmers and mom also studied applied math being pregnant w/me and even graduated afterwards without taking maternal leave*

second choice - to study at naval academy, but my dad didn't even allow this possibility

third choice - physics; one prof of that uni said me on the open doors day "women have here nothing to do"

and then it happened somehow that i bought a dictionary of pathology on one book event (there were even no pictures!) and i thought holi macaroni diagnostics are so interesting! i was always interested in how our body works and why diseases happen...

so my interest for microbiology, pathology and genetics was born

and then i discovered histology and cytology, so world was never again the same for me

bad news: i never wanted to help anyone, my intrinsic motivation is curiosity...

but that makes a good scientist of me... labrat is my spiritual animal.

i could never work with animal models though, but my borderline for causing pain lays on "cells"

wish i had time to play it on PC, because it's almost never ending thing and it makes no sense to not play it everywhere when you have a bit of time

i also love undertale and yume nikki very much !

next time i when i have time to play on my gAmInG sTaTiOn PC i'll going to play "Don't feed the monkeys"... i'll even going to install it on my PC next days because a friend of mine going to live at our place and take care of our fur BEBIS and i'm pretty sure he will like this game a LOT (i've seen a letsplay a little bit and want to also play it myself)

what’s your favorite book? :D

aaaaaand thank you for the first ever question since my years on tumblr! :D

this is the hard one, so i got to sleep overnight about it because i didnt want to give most obvious answer ever

but

actually i started to track books i read just in 2019 so i have no idea what happened before that and just remember stuff occasionally and write it down.

i can say - actually im huge fan of Fedor Dostoevsky and enjoy his writing a lot

im not kind of person like OMG THATS IT but here are some, unfortunately some of them are only available in russian, but i read also in english, german and dutch

i thought before my favourite book was Siddhartha by Herman Hesse, but i dont feel it ATM

and i also reread sometimes the series of The Labytinths of Echo by Max Frei

actually the best book was one by the russian biologist Nikolay Kukushkin who works at NYU but for some reasons he published it only in russian and i’m waiting for his original translation so that i can show this amazing thing to my non speaking russian friends - „Хлопок одной ладонью: как неживая природа породила человеческий разум“ (One palm clap: How inanimate nature gave birth to the human mind)

ok there are some more i cant choose between because they all three shook me AF and i may read them once again

Marina Abramović - Walk through walls (this was a present for end of the year by my mentees and they got the point!)

Jack Spenser - Diary of a malpractice lawsuit (a pathologist‘s MUST READ) TW this thing hurts even more than one by Abramovich

collection of esseys by Milorad Pavić (in russian the book called „scary love stories“ but i cant find this collection in any other language, just the texts one by one)

Umm Hii........I saw you completed your MD.

That's kindda cool you know. Actually, I'm a 12th grade (last year of high school) student.

I hv my medical entrance exam in May 2022 and idk why but I just cannot focus anymore.

I think I have issues with being consistent and i don't think so I have any kind of self discipline.

Do you think you can help me? Like just give me some tips on tackling slump and the constant feeling of not being motivated.
