ghostflower make me sad bc I love Gwen and Miles but not together it’s just so???? Like I feel like e majority of their relationship was Mike putting Gwen on a pedestal but if I say it everyone will immediately call me a racist who doesn’t like interracial relationships like no???
I love interracial relationships I just don't like interracial relationships where it just feels like the white person is always the prize who has to be chased after.
Or in the case of bridgeton that person can basically do the most out-of-pocket thing but romantically they're still seen as the prize
Quite literally none of those crusty bridgertons don't deserve the people of color they end up with
That guy Penelope marries also doesn't deserve her but that's as far as I'll go with her because she's also racist...
I don't like Gwen and Miles together because they simply don't belong together I feel zero chemistry from them.
And honestly it's really gross how his crush on her overlaps him mourning his uncle. And honestly I don't even feel like those feelings for her are genuinely real I feel like they lean more into an infatuation and probably a distraction from the fact that he might feel guilty that his uncle died because of him. Which is also part of the reason why he goes so hard wanting to save people because I'm a be honest his feelings for Gwen never actually felt genuine they feel more like it's an infatuation and a distraction because those feelings are so fleeting that he can easily catch feelings for a girl Like Margo who he actually has chemistry with and actually seem to have mutual feelings with
I want to add that my personal opinions about Gwen being a distraction also stems from the fact that he's a 15-year-old boy who went through something traumatic and probably also doesn't know how to communicate what he's going through to himself because the movie also shows that he lives a fast paced chaotic life and has a lot on his shoulders as a hero and as a civilian outside of that he doesn't exactly have the easiest work-life balance and sometimes putting yourself in this magical romantic La La Land helps as an escape.
But that doesn't make the feelings real especially since he's having potential romantic feelings for a person he hasn't been in active communication with and I feel like everyone forgets that..... These two have not talked to each other for a year they don't share social media they don't text.
And let's be so freaking honest you guys they only do each other for a few days and Gwen may have told him her sad backstory and they may have bonded but nothing they had going on in the first movie felt like I build up to romantic chemistry if anything his crush it just seems like it came out of just simple attraction to a girl and then manifested into an infatuation because at the end of the day he don't know her for real
The only one who probably actually knows when on a deeper level is likely Hobie
And this isn't even touching on the fact that miles is honestly better off without Gwen because I don't care what type of defense you have for her being a kid or whatever. What she did to miles in the second movie was a horrible betrayal because she straight up look this man in the eyes and basically was like.
Yeah man you have to be a statistic and be a black child without a father you have to let your dad die
Mind you this wasn't something that was probably a big deal to her because she basically ran away from home because her dad pulled a weapon on her.
So she don't really care about fathers at the moment.... Not to mention she did not want to defend Miles when Miguel was being needlessly nasty toward him and isolating him.
But because of how the movie is constantly being edited.... And because of how the world is right now. I don't trust that the results between their relationship is going to be something that pleases me because they also got rid of Miles as black girlfriend in the comics which just feels like they're getting ready to try to push him to be with Gwen there too. And honestly they're about to make me hate a character because they're centering him around a white girl who does nothing but had chaos and disruption to his life.
When narratively he seems to be more at peace with a black girl
This isn't even saying interracial relationships are bad .n these relationships are just bad when it seems like the white person does nothing but bring disruption to that person of color is life.
