if could say something to elizabeth that was left unsaid, what would you say?
Mateo paused for a moment to think before smiling, albeit a little sadly. “I’ve said everything to her that I wanted to say. If there was anything though that I’d want to remind her of is to not forget that she’s deserving of the love that people want to give her. Even if she doesn’t think that on her worst days.”
do you regret giving up medicine?
“I do. Any time I think about taking it up again, I doubt whether or not I deserve to be working in medicine again.”
Do you miss being a Witch?
“Yeah. Some days it feels like my body knows it’s missing the magic it used to have. It’s like a phantom limb. It’s an odd feeling.”
What do you fear the most, why?
“Hurting anyone I love.”
t r i c k: you regret being turned into a vampire
Mateo doesn’t say anything for a moment before letting out a quiet laugh. “I’m not sure if regret is the right word. Maybe...mourn the fact that I was turned into one? That may be more accurate.” Despite the answer he smiles through it. “But there’s no point in being mopey about something that’s irreversible now, is there? I just...prefer not to think about it if I can.”
DAY + 2, 5, 15
2. What scene did you first put down?
Physically writing, it was the prologue. I write from beginning to end, but the first idea that I jotted down in like bullet points was the scene where they use the mirror in Emma’s nursery to contact the future.
5. What part was hardest to write?
Every, single, mother fucking fighting scene. For an avid lover of the fantasy genre, I detest writing sword fighting scenes.
15. What did you learn from writing this fic?
That sword fighting scenes are the bane of my existence. Also, don’t start a story unless you know EXACTLY how the big climatic moment is gonna happen, otherwise you’ll spend a few weeks with your head hitting your desk and moaning to your sounding board about being a dumb ass.
