The only comfort is that everything that Trump runs, fails. Since he's spent nearly a year out of his term golfing, perhaps America itself will endure, while the GOP, whom he's been molesting from the moment he got the nomination, will literally die to his plague. And yes, it's his now, for his failure to even try and contain it. He didn't even try, and still barely is. We must not let history forget. Millions sick. Hundreds of thousands dead. All for a shitty reality TV host..
I read this bit in WaPo yesterday that described the virus and its slow, steady spread through the highest levels of Trump’s criminal enterprise to the highest ranks of the GOP (that Venn diagram is a perfect circle) as a perfect metaphor for the GOP’s embrace of Trump and his Fascism. They pretended the sickness away, until it caught up with them and shattered the lies they’ve told themselves and their cultists.
For the too-brief 18 hours or whatever it was that he was out of view and offline, I actually felt RELIEVED that the president of my country wasn’t fucking things up, even if it was just a brief reprieve from his chaos, incompetence, malevolence, treason, and abuse.
This is just beginning. He’s going to get worse. Enablers of his who are pretending to be well and in the clear will test positive. This is going to unfold and the true extent of the spread he encouraged and created won’t be fully revealed for a couple of weeks.
He brought this on himself. Every single one of his enablers who got sick because they followed him deserves every second of suffering and fear they are about to face.
There are about 210,000 Americans dead from this virus (the actual number is much higher, but that’s the official count), and these fuckers acted like they were invincible, somehow too rich and powerful to get the virus they haven’t given a flying fuck about this entire year. They deserve everything they are going to endure, and I hope it is terrible for them. I only hope the innocents in their lives do not get sick, as well.
