Ok, so I've asked other people about the casting of Leah Jeffries as Annabeth and some of them say that it would be unrealistic cause Annabeth has blonde hair and gray eyes (just so you know I disagree with that statement cause she's a great actor and I think would be perfect for the role). Thoughts on this?

This was an old ask, so I’m sorry for the delay but life gets in the way.

In a lot of previous posts, I had made clear my opinion that Leah is amazing, and now that I have seen her as Annabeth, that opinion is stronger than ever.

Annabeth’s entire personality and journey isn’t about the fact that she is a blonde. It is based on the idea that she faces stereotypes just because of her appearance. Do you know who else experiences that? Young girls of color.  

Her casting was on point for me, and for the creator of the character. If the only argument against her is that she isn’t a blonde, then that is a weak one.

Bro I dunno which to point at more, your casual attitude around how much time, effort and money goes into making a character for a fighting game, especially a 2D one, or your idea that FUCKING NEPTUNE will get into the game.

*very minor spoilers*

I really liked the first two episodes!! I like most of the changes they made and the actors POPPED OFF FR FR (though I wish they casted someone who is/would look 12 years old for Clarisse, but that’s a minor thing). And the humor?? Top notch.

The only things I wish were done differently would be Gabe (he’s pathetic and a jerk, but not deserving of Medusafying as of now imo) and I kinda wish Annabeth was in the second episode a little more since in the book she’s been there with Percy ever since “you drool in your sleep”. Though I appreciate that we get to have a better look at Luke and the other camapers this way.

For Clarisse, I think she is a little bit older than the rest, because in HoO she is already in college while the rest are still in high school. So is understandable the actress will be older.

Regarding Gabe, I was also confused about the change in the character, the only theory I have for this, is that they choose to tone down the relationship due to the rating of the show in Disney+. Or that they are taking a different direction with Sally and Gabe, but we will need to wait to see.

I do agree on the need of more Annabeth, because Leah is amazing, but I’m pretty sure we will see a lot of her in upcoming episodes. Also enjoyed seeing Luke being Percy’s first friend at camp, it will be heartbreaking at the end that is for sure.

my favorite part was watching grover watch everything happen on half blood hill. I got emotional as I REALLY realized for the first time that he thought he was about to lose Percy in much too similar of a way as he lost Thalia.

I also enjoyed that scene, especially the expressions in Aryan (Grover’s actor). You could see the fear and grief of going through the same, all over again.

That was so sweet! And the kind of extra content you can get in adaptations, I think it was a nice detail.

Hi! Not sure if you're interested, but I am writing a blitzstone prequel novel called "The Journey to Find Mimir". It takes place two years before the Sword of Summer, and follows Blitzen and Hearthstone as they meet, team up, and go to find the god Mimir. The first 23 chapters are on my AO3 and Wattpad under "welshaphrodite". I have been writing it since November of 2021. It is a novel, with a plot and dynamic characters and all.
