'Tokyo Majin Gakuen: Kenpūchō'
[PS1] [JAPAN] [MAGAZINE] [1999]
"Tokyo Majin Gakuen: Kenpūchō is a must-have [life simulaton game (SLG)] for fans of the worlds of works like Satomi Hakkenden and Kikuchi Hideyuki. The protagonist transfers to Shinjuku's "Shinkami Academy," where he meets friends and awakens to his "power," battling enemies that threaten Tokyo. The game is roughly divided into an [adventure game (ADV)] part and an SLG part. The story progresses as the player lives school life in the ADV part, while the battles take place in the SLG part (each episode is presented in the format of a TV anime. 26 episodes in total + 2 side stories). In school life, "emotion commands" are used when talking to friends, and by responding to their questions with "love, friendship, joy, sympathy, sadness, anger, coldness, emptiness," you can raise or lower your friends' favorability. This favorability determines the branching of the game, making it a game worth playing for a long time." ~Gamejin (December 1998, Vol. 06) [BMT🤖]
