10. When Spock Wears a Beanie
RIP Teri Garr (December 11, 1944-October 29, 2024)
Known for Young Frankenstein, Tootsie, and Friends, she was also the brightest spot in Star Trek's otherwise lackluster backdoor pilot of a Season Two finale, Assignment: Earth, as Roberta Lincoln. (After all, we know Kirk has a fondness for Lincolns.)
I need more fics about mr spock raising cats, he's such a cute cat lady
N and I finished watching the second season of TOS (and we only have the third left), which now feels even sad, because we didn't think we would become so attached to this story when we started. Assignment: Earth is actually a fascinating episode, in how it's perceived as a crossover, and how the focus shifts away from the main characters of the series. Besides, this is probably the only time I've really liked the "female character of the episode." I would love to see a spin-off about her, honestly. She reminded me of the better days of Nancy Drew, and I always miss that vibe.
and it was unexpectedly funny to see how useless Kirk and Spock were this time (sorry, guys)
THIS IS SUCH A STUPID OUTFIT LOOK AT HIM!! SPOCK IS WEARING A BUCKET HAT!!!!
i think roberta lincoln and isis the cat from star trek tos 2x26 "assignment: earth" should have lezzed out
No one does it like Gary Seven from 'Assignment: Earth', the time traveller who carries a cat around with him LITERALLY everywhere he goes and has a day job disabling nuclear threats
Also respect for Roberta Lincoln who instead of dealing with his bullshit put him under hostage with his own weapon then criticized the cold war
God how I wish they could've become a spin off series!!!!
Not to forget that this episode also gave us Spock holding a cat:
