"  𝐢  𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤  𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐞  ,  𝐢  𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰  .  "  the  blonde  announces  as  she  emerges  from  the  dressing  room  in  an  emerald  mini  -  dress  ,  one  of  the  newest  arrivals  from  the  latest  shipment  .  it’s  an  hour  past  close  and  the  boutique  is  empty  except  for  the  two  women  and  a  couple  boxes  full  of  clothing  ready  to  be  placed  on  display  .  serena  has  taken  it  upon  herself  to  model  a  couple  of  the  newest  looks  for  her  friend  ,  and  the  current  dress  on  her  body  certainly  wouldn’t  be  the  last  .  “  green  is  totally  my  color  ,  right  ?  ”  she  teases  as  she  drops  into  a  seat  next  to  faye  ,  a  hand  running  through  her  hair  .    “  did  you  see  anything  you  like  in  there  ?  you  can  take  whatever  you  want  .  on  the  house  ,  of  course  .  ”

this  wasn’t  a  situation  he  could’ve  ever  imagined  he’d  be  in.   adam  had  anticipated  this  night  going  much  differently.  and  more  importantly,  with  the  events  panning  out  as  he’d  thought,  he  would  be  crashing  on  his  couch.   now  he’s  well  into  the  night,  laying  on  his  side  and  keeping  his  distance.   his  bed  wasn’t  exactly  designed  to  be  large  enough  for  two,  but  he  made  it  work,  assuring  she  had  enough  room  to  be  comfortable.  adam’s  eyes  had  been  searching  the  length  of  his  bedroom  wall  for  what  seems  like  hours,  hoping  he’d  drift  off  into  a  deep  sleep  he  could  wake  from  in  the  morning  and  avoid  the  awkwardness  of  the  night  before.  but  that  doesn’t  come.   “  faye  ?  ”   adam’s  tone  isn’t  anything  harsh,   just  enough  of  a  whisper  to  get  his  voice  across.  “  are  you  awake  ?  ”

“No, I wasn’t,” Aziraphale answered, turning towards the sound of the familiar voice. “But it’s certainly a pleasure to see you again.”

Was it really, though? Aziraphale still remembered the disgusting, macabre goading down in the basement, and he had yet to find the humor in it. Nevertheless, he kept his reservations to himself and forced a pleasant smile to his face.

“I trust you’ve been well?”

“  i  never  thought  i’d  be  so  happy  to  see  you,  faye.  ”    adam  could  always  rely  on  their  playful  teasing  to  express  his  sincerity  with  her.   he  wouldn’t  give  her  the  satisfaction  of  openly  admitting  his  concerns  for  her  the  past  few  days,   but  he  hopes  she  knows.   he  was  ill  with  worry  for  most  of  it.   both  for  faye  and  whoever  she  was  stuck  with,  of  course.  “  unless  that  was  another  one  of  your  tricks.  ”   he  knows  it  couldn’t  be.  she’s  powerful,  but  not  to  that  extent.  he  was  without  his  abilities  and  that  must’ve  meant  she  was  too.

 bree  knows  her  existence  is  a  dangerous  thing.  she  wasn’t  supposed  to  be  here.   she  was  killed  for  a  reason.   it  pains  her  to  think  of  rebuffing  some  of  the  only  genuine  concern  she’s  had,   but   it  has  to  be  done.   “   it’s  better  if  we  didn’t.  ”   she  was  kind.   bree  didn’t  want  to  think  of  what  could  happen  if  the  cloaks  came  back.   the  last  thing  she  wanted  was  to  find  out  more  laws  were  broken  and  for  others  to  be  punished  for  it.  “  i’m  no  good  at  talking. ”

Library - Aziraphale and Tessa Gray  (@astcroid)

Aziraphale paced the aisles, occasionally running his fingertips along the tops of the books to check if they were wet. Somehow, miraculously, the library had been mostly spared by the storm, especially in comparison with the likes of the Siren’s Bar. All of that thudding and thumping he’d heard from within its basement had in fact been the first floor’s ceiling caving in, ruining the top half of the building. Upon leaving the bar, Aziraphale had expected the rest of the town to mirror its shambled state. To his relief, only one other building had incurred any significant damage, the Mermaid Inn. Aside from this conspicuous exception, the storm had shown unprecedented mercy. Not a single house, not a single shop, not even a single book within the library’s walls had incurred its wrath, and for that, Aziraphale was grateful. 

Aziraphale turned a corner into the next aisle and came face-to-face with one of his dear coworkers, Tessa Gray.

“Ms. Gray!” he exclaimed, quickening his step as he approached her. “Are you alright? That was quite the storm, wasn’t it? Forgive me for not checking on you sooner...phone trouble. But you were at home, I hope?”

 𝒕𝒘𝒐-𝒃𝒊𝒕  𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅𝒔  𝒕𝒐  𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆  .  .  .  a  show  out  of  it.  he’s  found  laughter  is  really  the  way  to  the  heart  ,  after  all  it’s  not  really  his  face  that  does  the  trick,  and  his  boys  always  liked  to  remind  him  of  it.  there’s  a  girl  by  the  cellar  wall  ,  on  her  lonesome.  he  stumbles  towards  her  ,  like  he’s  going  into  cardiac  arrest  or  something.  when  he  gets  close  enough  ,  he  dramatically  falls  to  his  knees  in  front  of  her.  “i  hope  you  know  cpr,  baby,”  he  gasps  ,  knees  scraping  (  actually  quite  painfully  )  against  the  floor.  “because  you  just  took  my  breath  away.”

"  𝐢  𝐚𝐦  𝐚  𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡  𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡."  she  announces  to  no  one  in  particular  as  her  gaze  fixates  instead  on  the  shot  of  whiskey  sitting  on  the  bar  in  front  of  her  .  meredith  has  never  been  shy  of  trying  new  things   ,  but  seeing  as  she  was  already  several  shots  of  tequila  deep  ,  the  glass  of  brown  liquid  looks  almost  distasteful  to  her  now  .  she  turns  to  chloe  ,  regret  already  coloring  her  features  .  “  remind  me  again  why  i  thought  this  would  be  a  good  idea  ?  ”
