I had an odyseidon AU brainwave (triggered by ur odyseidon so I had to tell u)

AU where Odysseus says fuck u and adopts Astynax

Then comes across Polyphemus, realises he’s a kid, also adopts him

Many kids

Aka, Ody is everyone’s dad, and Poseidon is lowk into it

Imagine... Odysseus makes a >:O face realizing Polyphemus is a big kid, and immediately takes accountability in a more gentle way and then some. Polyphemus calling upon Poseidon only for Poseidon to see Odysseus cradling Astynax in one arm and patting Polyphemus' cheek with his free hand.

Poseidon is HIGHKEY into it because hey..... I have a lot of kids, you're good with kids, let's make more kids together —

I could show off my designs for my Astyanax Lives AU with proper design sheets and turnarounds or I could be silly. tough choices.

Anyway,design notes under the cut

For Astyanax, I wanted to give him a generally warm color palette to represent how different he is from the rest of the crew, both personality-wise and with his backstory. He's the only person to survive Troy (in this AU atleast),the only kid,and the most peaceful (Personality wise he's like a mix of S1 Steven and B2 Aang). All three considered, he is the ''light'' or ''warmth'' of the crew so to speak

Polites gives him his headband during ''A Different Beast'' (In this AU he survives until Odysseus sacrifices his crew) partially to distract him while they were cutting the siren's tails and partially as a comfort item to help make witnessing the horrors(tm) a bit easier.

For Odysseus,like the rest of his crew,I wanted to keep him with mostly cold/neutral colors and show the blue in his cape get darker and more muted as he spirals into his villain arc

I give him blue eyes to match Poseidon's. At the start, his are more muted but they also get darker and closer to Poseidon's eyes as he spirals and eventually turn red during ''600 Strikes''

I'm probably going to change his hairstyle to something a lot more simple bc it was a nightmare trying to actually draw it

Also somewhat related,if Telemachus is an anime protagonist, then Astyanax is a Disney princess. I will not elaborate further
