Enlightenment || f2f || Cassie & Kebira
Clint's text left Kebira shaking. Her hands could barely hold her phone and as her mind wildly raced, circling around morbid, twisted thoughts of some vindictive punishment she could inflict on Bran, she realized she couldn't be in this small, death-scented room where Harry's life slowly dwindled. She had to get out, just for a moment.
Kebira hadn't left his side as of yet, spare the 10 or so minutes every day she granted herself so she could shower so it felt weird to walk - or sprint rather, as it certainly wasn't a calm walk - out of the room with the knowledge that Harry was still breathing. His death, and only his death she had told herself, is what would have her leave this room. Apparently she was wrong.
The roof of the hospital was the safest place for her to run to. Away from patients, nurses and doctors, the buzzing paparazzi.. here she could just scream. And she did. Her throat strained as she did so, a high pitched screech ripping between the space of her teeth, a hot, thick trail of steam streaming forth with it. She was shaking -- so much so that if Clint was texting her back during this fit, she likely wouldn't notice, missing the phones vibrations in her hands own tremors. Everything was swirling so violently that she was lost behind a disarray of anger, confusion, disbelief, and god.. was this sadness? Sorting out which emotions belonged where and were sourced to which terrible, overwhelming event at the time was impossible but it all collected into one, terrifying need for Kebira.
She wanted to rip Bran apart. Cripple and destroy him, make him wail in outright terror. She needed it. But she couldn't have it; not now. Harry was the priority and the confliction over what she wanted to do and where she needed to be twisted her thoughts further and she screamed again, a bitter taste coating her tongue as steam was overridden and replaced with a short burst of yellow fire.
