i didn't know what the knot thing was either - and i'm still not sure i understand - but i do know i am disturbed and in distress
It’s like… oh god dude I’m so sorry I have to break this to you but, but it’s like—w-when a dog… wh when it—
Things Silas has done in canon that carry over into Judas' verse:
-created a legitimate death ray that never got sent into orbit (Project Damocles). got dishonourably discharged from the military; probably for the death ray (he seems very upset about this)
-vivisected a sentient individual while ensuring they were numb so they could watch themselves be picked apart without screaming
-kidnapped a mother to lure out her son, willing to sacrificing both for the body of the kid's robot companion. when this failed he:
-swarmed a high school with MECH operatives, offering to spare the kids' lives if the boy from the above incident were surrendered to them (comic canon). coincidentally, got kicked directly in the nuts by said boy during this attack
-designed and created the basis of a human-made cybertronian frame (the beginning of Project Chimera)
Things Silas has done in canon that do NOT carry over for Judas' verse:
-finished Project Chimera (Nemesis Prime)
-gotten gravely injured via Project Chimera
-had the surviving and salvageable bits of his body transplanted into the corpse of a decepticon. something he was over the moon about. genuinely, he was happy about this. so happy that he:
-murdered every member of MECH that saved him so he could become a 'god' by joining the decepticons
-failed in his attempts to impress the 'gods' and became a tortured plaything for the decepticon medic (it should be noted the cybertronian corpse silas was in belonged to this medic's assistant)
-died
Alexi chose the pseudonym ‘Judas’ for reasons that had nothing to do with him being a traitor. In fact, he thought he was being quite clever about it due to his unwavering loyalty to MECH. His contributions to their cause diminished significantly when focus shifted to the giant alien robots that invaded Earth; Judas’ elements of expertise were very human after all.
Then it became shockingly easy to wedge his way into Cybertronian lives. To speak to them and to befriend them and to get them talking about a world they no longer had but loved and missed. About themselves and the way they were so different from humans. They trusted him. And it felt so very much like this- this- was what Judas could do to contribute. Without ever meaning to, he could live up to his chosen name.
Then, the more they talked and the more they shared, the more Judas attached to them. His loyalty to MECH remained, he never gave away his association to the organization, but it was hard not to bond with those who’d lost their world as well.
So here he stood between a rock and a hard place. He could share things he learned; the kind of important things that would hold him a little higher in their ranks again and help them with a project that was equally important to him personally...at the cost of selling out those he talked to regularly and knew better than the entire group of people he worked with daily.
Would he be willing to do it to get the bridge complete? Not fake it. Do it.
"He'd fake it for longer until he got what he wanted. Take a wild guess who'd be going through the test runs first once it looked to be properly functional."
"Still don't know where the civilians who went through the other test runs ended up, but they sure as hell didn't come back through."
"By the time anybody got past their suspicions enough to get anything done, most of us would be underground. Our side's a lot more paranoid. Working together is for the ones who still kid themselves into thinking they're the 'good guys'."
