In general my “everything has a house” theory of organizing has helped a LOT.
“Is everything tidy?” Um… uh. No…. But I don’t know where to start….
“Is everything in its house?” No, but now I know what I need to do! And now I know if I have houseless items the next step is to build or buy a house for them…. Or assess if I need this item at all.
#idle raccoon thoughts#saying it out loud does make me feel like a toddler#but my room has not been this clean in months. so.#we must kill the cringe in our heart#what’s crazier is i have to KEEP re-learning this#‘ahhhh this room is so messy!’#<- you’ve dealt with this before. there’s not a mess problem#there’s a housing crisis that needs to be addressed#i think there might also be a stress blocker#RE: the house being clean being a moral + punishing thing#like. there’s definitely SOMETHING that makes me freeze up like a prey animal#when it#comes to cleaning#which sucks! because i like living in a clean space!
