More K-Pop related items. Ateez mascots are called AniTeez, similar to how Stray Kids has the SKZoo. Some of my friends were going to a concert in Duluth and I'd seen other fans liked to exchange fan made merch. Since I'd made SKZoo related magnets, I figured keychains would be a smaller, slightly lighter and therefore easier project.
It was smaller in size keychain compared to magnet. However I usually only paint one side of the magnets. The keychains needed details burned on both sides, to be painted, sealed, and have their eye screws/chains/key rings attached. I spent tons of time on this project. Although I would usually paint all of the same color and then just wait for them to dry before doing another color or detail. I think that is how I missed adding the slight tint blush to Jjongbears cheeks entirely.
A very few alternative designs were added to the horde of keychains that were made. Only one of the Woo-San stitched together and Mer Shark Wooyoung keychains were made. I also forgot to paint the collar bell on the stitched keychain yellow. There is also only one version of the Hongjoong with guitar that was sent to Duluth. I've only ever made 2 of those in total.
The Mingi-Kraken never made it past the bandsaw. I had seen a bit of a performance online and KNEW there was a kraken fight. I just thought; ('duck mascot'='water creature') + ('kraken'='water creature') = I should put them together! In hindsight it was probably and slightly off the wall idea.
I had heard of the Woo-San ship, so I just did a half and half design, sliced it in half for good measure and used the red string of fate to stitch it back together. The Mer Shark is based of a reddit thread where I saw some out there theories that Wooyoung was 100% a shark. I did sketch an alternative with a whale shark backpack, but was concerned I wouldn't be able to burn and paint those details. There are two each of the Wooyoung and Hongjoong wearing yellow backpacks with the Hangul characters for 'Topaz' on their backs. It is based off a clip of them declaring themselves Topaz brothers.
All in all, 73x keychains were carried by my incredibly gracious friends to share the excitement for the concert to give to Atiny (fans) while they waited in lines for their concert. I have it on good authority that they had a great time.
