There are no theists in foxholes. You can whisper poetry to whatever deity, messiah or personal angel you like, but at the end of the day, you’ll wear/use/apply and rely upon your scientifically engineered protective measures, just like any atheist.

The confession of evil works is the first beginning of good works.

My Opinions on Religion
It should go without saying that I am somewhat of an agnostic from some of my comments. Grew up in a Christian house hold, but I always questioned what I was being told to believe whether it be taking the idea of a global scale deluge seriously, or believing that someone could come back from the dead. Honestly, all of that sounded like wishful thinking. With me personally, I just feel that if there isn't anything after life, you shouldn't feel miserable about it. What matters in the moment is how you cope with that reality. You try to live life to the fullest, keeping in mind that this is probably the only life that you'll ever have. Namely, I'm a man who wants at least some substantial evidence that there is a god out there.
Of course, I don't consider anyone who believes in a god as being stupid or anything like that. I was never personally bothered by the idea on whether or not there was one, because I feel that good and evil would still exist if there is no absolute proof there is a god. I believe that our sense of morality had been instilled into us. Such as with murder. We have developed to understand that committing vile acts like that are wrong and it doesn't benefit us. And so, we do not act on that impulse. As for my views on religion, I don't hate it. my only problem is when it is forced down other people's throats. Take Christianity for example: you have that looming threat of burning in Hell for eternity if you do not accept God's offer of salvation. While not all Christians are inherently bad, you have some that try to use the Bible as an excuse to either harass other people, or bully others into converting under the threat of hellfire. I especially don't like that hint of a flair of self-entitlement that many Christians express. Just this recent FOX article made such bogus claims that atheists are dangerous because they lack a belief in God or that they get offended by religious imagery. Again, while I personally don't dislike religion or religious symbols, it only becomes a problem when they try to use their religious to force changes that needn't be made. Whether it be forcing schools to install a religious class as a part of the curriculum, or throwing fits about statues being made of the Ten Commandments, or how they get annoyed that people do not say "Merry Christmas" but rather "Happy holidays." Really, for all of the stuff they blame most atheists for doing, they're just as -- or even more so -- guilty for doing the exact same thing.
Other than that, these are my thoughts. You don't have to agree with any point I had just said, but I will respect your opinion just as long as you respect mine.

I don't believe in a god. This is just the sun behind some clouds. But nature is beautiful, and so is being content.
