Pakku's backstory in RITD

Pakku and Kanna were actually in love with each other. Pakku proposed to Kanna but then their parents arranged different spouses for them. Kanna wanted to run away with Pakku, but he did not want to leave the NWT. They fought over this for a while. Then one night, Kanna disappeared. Pakku later found out that a women’s rights group helped her and a few other women in bad marriages escape. (Divorce for women is illegal in NWT) Pakku became bitter and more misogynistic because of this. He finds out Katara is Kanna’s granddaughter later during Day of the Black Sun.
