This amazing Cedrus atlantica (Atlas cedar) is a specimen tree on the lawn of The Grange, Benenden, Kent. This large evergreen tree started life as a seedling in the Atlas Mountains, of Algeria and Morocco, where it was collected by Captain Collingwood Ingram. He purchased the house in 1919 and developed the garden including his Prunus (cherry) tree collection.

Forming an avenue to the recently restored Temperate House of the Royal Botanic Garden Kew, London, are the evergreen conifer Cedrus atlantica (Atlas cedar). These form large, spreading trees with the needles arranged in small clusters that are silvery-white when young, maturing to blue-green.

Smells like cedar, looks like cedar, I guess this wood, delivered today, is mostly Atlas cedar (Cedrus atlantica). Atlas cedar and Lebanon cedar (Cedrus libani) are popular garden trees in this part of Italy.
