yall attack on titan is just as utterly brutal as I remember it being. I am living for it. I have to say though my favorite part of the whole episode was when reiner said “More walls? I’m sick and tired...of walls” while flashing back to his time on top of one of those walls defending against titans. I haven’t read the manga and I’ve only watched the series once, but it felt like he’s just war torn, tired and he wants to be done with the brutality. He had friends once, people he called companions and he had to betray them and leave them behind, he joked around and even if it was an act he was more human than the man who coldly calculatingly counted how many weapons to destroy and how many titans died on impact. For him walls are symbols of a never ending war, everything he lost and everything he will lose tied up in a big red bow.
