Much like other people, I looked at the trio and decided they needed more story. I had previously done this on an old social media account, however that account is deleted along with all of my work. As I have come back into the fandom, I have reworked my au heavily and am happy to bring it back into light!
This au is a future telling of Lock, Shock, and Barrel from The Nightmare Before Christmas. These characters meant a lot to me when I was younger (especially Barrel) and I have loved to bring this au back to life. It is canon in the movie that the trio are 6 (Barrel), 7 (Lock), and 8 (Shock). I use Lock as an age marker, since he is the middle ground, so when I reference an age, know that Barrel is a year younger, and Shock is a year older. This au starts when Lock is 19, spanning until he is 25! This is essentially a future characterization of the trio that I have based off of their personalities from the movie and the game Oogie’s Revenge. (And Slightly Zero’s Journey) This au states their pasts, personalities, dynamics, and their future! Though some things have not been revealed, and will not be revealed until my my fic is posted (Twofacedlady on ao3). More information will come as chapters for that are posted.

Lore
Families:
Lock was taken from his family when he was 3, he was his parent's only child and they were devastated when he went missing. Lock cannot remember his family, as he sustained head trauma shortly after he was taken. Boogie (evidence from the movie and game) Was the rudest to Lock. Lock never sees others of his species and knows very little about himself and his species. All he knows are his instincts and the things he hears about imps from other people (which is very little, as you don't often see imps around.) He eventually sees his parents again, learning more and more about himself every day. Though he did choose to continue living with the trio in the treehouse, visiting his parents every so often.
Shock was taken from her coven/parents when she was 4. Her mother was apart of a coven, and fell in love with a human man. Her father and mother loved each other dearly, and Shock was raised half by them and half by the coven. After she was stolen by boogie, her parents were devastated. Her mother left her father to go look for her, while her father turned to his own human resources to find her. Shock was the second most affected by the childhood they went through, but she is replacing that fear with determination as she strives for freedom and self expression.
Barrel was taken when he was 2, he had 2 older brothers and a younger sister, along with his parents. His parents looked high and low for him, and are still searching for him to this day, moving from place to place in hopes of finding him again. He knows where they are, as he is very technical and knows how to find things that don't want to be found through the internet, however he cares about Shock and Lock too much to leave. He decided that they are better off without him, and that Shock and Lock need him more than they do. Least affected by boogie half because he was too young to retain many memories, and half because he made a promise that he would protect his friends. Barrel will stop at nothing to protect them as they did when he was too helpless to protect himself.
Other
As they got older, Lock began to develop feelings for Barrel, despite his un-wanting for said feelings. Barrel had brought a few partners to the treehouse throughout the years and was never in anything long lasting, but Lock was afraid that the dynamic for their group would change. He didn't know Barrel's exact feelings about him, but he was too afraid to find out for many years. He started liking Barrel at around the age of 15. Fell first, but Barrel fell harder <3
Barrel started to develop feelings for Lock when he was around 16, but had never seen Lock bring anyone around and assumed he wasn't looking for that kind of thing. He had no issue with his feelings for Lock, seeing no shame in loving someone you've known your whole life, but thought Lock would never see him romantically. Essentially a very “take what I can get" type of person, enjoying Lock's company, though his feelings got stronger as they came into adulthood. He had moments where he would get down, wishing he could have Lock even for a moment, but he is a very patient soul.
Shock always wanted a girlfriend but could never find someone that suited her personality, let alone someone she felt like she could bring around Lock and Barrel without said person being afraid or her brothers hating them. She was also quite afraid that Lock especially wouldn't like whichever girl she decided to bring around. Shock later on while in the square by herself while Lock and Barrel were out playing around, she meets the Mayor's estranged daughter, Mabel, coming to live with him while her mother is sick. She is a child of divorce and not very fond of her dad, but struggles with emotions and her dad stifling her. Shock teaches her what freedom feels like, and Mabel teaches her how to process emotions.
Eventually Shock finds out that Lock is her familiar, sparking a moment of understanding between them, and Shock became a better sister to Lock after realising that she had said many hurtful things to him without ever knowing that they hurt him. He started being less of a hindrance to her, and they had a moment of mutual understanding that allowed them to be better friends, and even better siblings (though they never stopped throwing hands lol). (Now Lock, as her familiar, has to come with her sometimes to help her with her studies and craft, much to his distaste.) Barrel and Shock are still great friends, and even better siblings, and he's like a chill little brother to her.
The trio enjoys pranking people, going to festivals, smoking together, playing multiplayer games, trick or treating (though Lock has no interest in candy considering he can't taste sugar), tormenting the Mayor, and Lock and Shock enjoy fighting. Lock and Shock are around equal strength, and typically tire each other out before either actually gets hurt. Barrel has come to a point in his life where he has grown to ignore their fights, typically playing a game on his phone or listening to music while they battle it out. Their pranks are quite dangerous, and one must be prepared before going into their house lest they step into a beartrap or a preexisting fight happening. Their most memorable prank was the graffiti they spray painted all over the town in bright pink, sending the citizens of Halloween town into anguish. Jack never did prove it was them, but he knew deep down.

Hello, people! In an attempt to try and make Jump Force 2.0., I veneered off course and decided to binge an underrated Magical Girl Anime- Yuuki Yuuna Wa Yuusha De Aru!
To put it very lightly, Yuuki Yuuna Wa Yuusha De Aru, or Yuki Yuna Is A Hero, is a magical girl anime that has a group of middle school girls (Including one who is a wheelchair user) that help out people in their day to day lives. BUT WAIT! One day, their phones ring, and they’re sent into this place called the Jukai to do battle with creatures called Vertexes that threaten a gigantic magical tree known as The Shinju, and they become magical girls to battle the beasts and protect the world. There’s a lot more- novels included, but I won’t give away any spoilers so I don’t ruin anyone’s viewing experience.
Now, I know what you’re saying and then some, “But this has nothing to do with Weekly Shonen Jump!”, oh, you’re wrong.
Because in my spare time, I did so much researching into Shueisha’s extensive catalog, picking out every single series, going into prolonged studies of Florigraphy and Hanakotoba (The meanings of flowers in both Victorian England and Japan, including modern ones), and choosing weapons that fit each character, as well as writing scenes and doing TONS of worldbuilding and lore development. All with the help of my buddy @sam-rexian.
And oh my Kami, I think I just put more effort into this AU than Bandai even did with Jump Force (No Offense). Because it is HUGE.

After one month following the events of Playtime With Percy and One Week Later, the Playful Poodles convince Nick to find and rebuild Percy.
But things aren’t always as easy as it seems.
Follow the cast as they all try to adjust to the rapid changes in their lives, especially Percy who must come to terms with what happened the day the playhouse was destroyed.
AU Masterlist
Percy: The AU’s main focus. Percy must overcome the challenges following his rebuilding, from physical to mental. Things aren’t exactly easy after getting possessed then hit by a wrecking ball and rusting in a construction zone for a month.
The Playful Poodles: Still as chaotic as ever but mellowed a bit after temporarily loosing their big brother. The trio tend to keep the cast’s spirits up and genuinely care, no matter how many tricks they pull.
Nick: After reluctantly agreeing to rebuild Percy (due to the Playful Poodles’ inescapable cuteness), he finds himself as a single father of four chaotic animatronic poodle kids. Whoever said that would be easy?

Since I've been posting about reluctantly reinstated more frequently I think I should probably write out an overview of what this AU actually is.
Krupp is a Retired Superhero. More Vigilante than actual superhero. He Willingly retired after both realizing he needed a job to provide for him and that being a superhero wasn't rewarding/ fulfilling anymore.
Compared to his cannon selves he's still grumpy but less of an Ass. He's fully human and all his cannon relatives are related to him.
This version of Krupp had a better life growing up as John is still around and ended up divorcing Bernice. Ben went to live with him and was allowed to still be a Kid.
his father started up a carpentry business that Jasper took over.
Krupp still uses his powers in the privacy of his own home but there's not much he Needs them for. He does still fly/ float with the curtains closed. He'll never give that up. He still has his basic set of powers in some capacity. ( From cannon but also just him being Rusty)
For the most part he's largely grown to feel like he Doesn't need to use them as much even if he had the chance. He's grown to like being in the background, just be Ben.
In the prologue and chapter 4 it's demonstrated he can use his powers With Clothes just fine. He adopts the captain underpants persona later on. Snapping and water have no actual effect on him. Granted he won't be happy if you splash him with water.

Story
Poe is born sensitive in the force. Before he can even remember, he has a friend in the force: the force sensitive tree his mother plants by their home on Yavin 4. Poe and his tree like each other very much. Poe waters it daily and his tree helps him sense the jungle rats playing nearby and the birds of paradise gliding above them. When Poe is 4 years old, his uncle Luke comes for a visit and Poe has a lot of fun with him and the games they play. He particularly likes the one where he gets to talk to him without using their mouths. He decides uncle Luke is his favourite uncle so far because he's the first one who seems to believe him when Poe tells him about his tree and what the birds and jungle rats are up to every day.
Poe doesn't go to start training in Luke's new Jedi Academy until he's 11. He's hesitant, at first, because he doesn't want the jedi training to get in the way of him becoming a pilot - but uncle Luke reassures him he could still do both. Besides, his friend Ben is going too, so that should be fun.
Poe completes his training at the age of 19 and leaves the temple to train in the Pilot Academy of the New Republic which has always been his dream. He's away there when his childhood friend, Ben Solo, looses his way. He's away when their uncle Luke fails him, when the temple is burned and when Ben Solo becomes Kylo Ren. For a while, he searches for them both but when it proves fruitless, he wanders the galaxy, aimless lost. When the threat of the First Order arises, he joins the Resistance to help fight it with whatever skills he has, as a jedi and a pilot.

Poe is uniquely talented in the Sense abilities of the force. His exposure and natural communication with the force tree since he was barely a baby either caused or fuelled that talent. He is capable in Control abilities, but lacks the most in the Alter aspect of the force.
He is naturally able to sense the presence of other beings around him, sense their emotions, motivations and even thoughts. He’s able to project his feelings onto others, usually to soothe or comfort them, or just to let others experience what he is feeling. In the same way, he’s able to project his thoughts and memories to willing or non-shielded others.

Poe is naturally ambidextrous, which made it easier and natural for him to wield two weapons at the same time. He dual wields two lightsabers, which are a little shorter than your usual one - common among dual wielders. However, in most combat situations with non-force users he will use a lightsaber in one hand and a blaster in the other.
In combat, Poe relies heavily on his physical skills, mainly his speed and reflexes, the latter amplified by his talent for force sense and precognition. His fighting style is a mix of swift offense and rapid dodges, somewhat lacking in his defense. His difficulty in utilising external force abilities (force jump, amplifying his strength & speed etc) puts him at a disadvantage against other force users in direct combat.
Lightsabers
He made his two lightsabers at 15. It took him a long time to imbue his crystals with the force, partly due to his insecurities about his difficulties with wielding basic force techniques (push, pull, telekinesis etc). The colour of the crystal was a surprise, but one he saw as rather fitting: Poe embodies a lot of qualities of the old Jedi Sentinels, utilizing many of his other skills first and the force as an extra bonus rather than his primary focus. He also spends most of his life after training working for the Resistance, as a pilot, as a spy and as a soldier, rather than following a typical Jedi path.

Poe Dameron was born on Cularin, a mountainous jungle planet in Thaere sector. He displayed early signs of being sensitive in the force and was taken by the Jedi Order to be trained.
From the youngest age, Poe displayed a particular talent for the Sense abilities of the force, while struggling with a lot of external uses of it. As a youngling at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant he was known for his natural skills in Force Empathy and strong connection to the force. He was encouraged by Grandmaster Yoda to develop his abilities further and let the force guide him. He was also known for his passion for flying and taking every opportunity to pilot as many ships as he was allowed.
Due to his struggles with external and physical application of the force, he was worried he wouldn’t be chosen as a padawan by any master, especially since he reached the appropriate age in the middle of the Clone Wars. He doubted any master would pick him and risk him being a hindrance, since his results in combat and agility testes were unimpressive. And to him, as to many younglings and padawans raised at that time, the battle feats of the Jedi Generals seemed liked the most important skills for a Jedi.
He wasn’t entirely wrong in his worries either. It was only because of Master Yoda’s request that he was accepted to be trained by Obi-wan Kenobi, who was reluctant to accept any new student at the time. However, Yoda believed Poe’s extraordinary sensitivity to the force would be of great use during the war, and that under a master like Obi-wan he’d be able to overcome whatever subconscious issues that were hindering his progress in other uses of the force.

During the Gathering ceremony on Ilum, Poe had to face his insecurity to reach his crystal. The path he had to take was demanding, and impossible to cross without aiding himself with the force. Though he struggled, and barely made the last jump, when he reached the source of light, he found two, smaller crystals resonating with his force. From them, he made his two lightsabers, a little shorter than a typical blade due to the size of his crystals. To his, and others’, surprise, his blades light up a golden-yellow hue, a rare but not unheard of coloration.

This is an AU that I designed with my partner for the Silent Hill series, specifically surrounding the monsters of Silent Hill 2 and 4!
The main idea of this AU is that, after each of the games, the monsters don't just disappear. They come to this unseen area of Silent Hill to live.
I mainly focus on the Pyramid Head, which is more of a species than a small group of individual monsters, but I intend on going through and including at least one monster from each game!
