Seafarers- X-Men x reader
For AU Roulette @au-roulette My assigned ones were- Cosmic Horror, sports/athletes and, of course, seafarers! I might post about the other two but I wanted to at least get one done so enjoy! Not my typical x reader shenanigans but I thought lets switch it up!
CW- Mentions of physical fights, blood, mentions of lust, kidnapping, mentions of being sold.
Grey clouds formed over the horizon. Ropes bit and rubbed against your skin as you continued to struggle against the mast. Fog crept over the sea. The back of your head rested in frustration against the mast.
It was day 7 aboard this ship. No sign of land, no indication as to where you were heading. You were the daughter of a wealthy merchant in your home town. Renowned for your ability to read the mind of others. They’d kidnapped you in the middle of the night to be sold off as a slave in a foreign land in exchange for gold.
You could hear the chatting of the crew behind you but their thoughts were louder.
“She is the perfect height when she’s in her knees.”
“I wonder what cooks gonna serve for supper.”
“How much longer until we reach home?”
Listening to the men’s thoughts always sent your hackles up. But it wasn’t something you could turn on and off again. Sea spray stuck your hair to your face. The air hung heavy with humidity as the ship sailed closer to the middle of what looked like a storm. The ship groaned as the waves lapped against the sides.
You heard steps approaching the mast from behind. The Captain turned to face you, rotten teeth grinning back at you.
“We’ve got one more day of travel. Then it’s to the market to sell you.” He stated. One of his large hands gripped your chin and forced your eyes to meet. For a moment, his eyes wondered to your lips.
“There is a second option, lovely. You can submit to me. Become our lil onboard support.” The captain’s thumb stroked your bottom lip. For a moment you contemplated it. But you soon scowled and spat in his face. The Captain stood, stunned as the glob of saliva rolled down his cheek.
Your head turned as the force of his slap echoed across the winds. A fiery sting blossomed on your cheek.
“I’m fucking selling you.” He shouted before storming back to his quarters.
An unknown female voice called into your mind. You glanced up but none of the crew directed their attention towards you.
“Hey, can you hear me? You don’t have to speak with your mouth.”
“Yes. I can hear you.” You thought
The ship shook violently. The crew looked around, mouths agape, before rushing to their stations. You looked around frantically before a large shadow leapt down from the heavens. A short, hairy man unfurled himself. Sharp claws appeared from his skin, making you gasp. The mystery man turned and barrelled towards a group of pirates. Blood splattered from their necks as the crumpled to the deck.
Red and purple lights flashed just outside your field of vision as you heard the grunts and screams of fights ensuing. A woman from high above as she moved her arms with the grace of a conductor. The fog seemed to bend to her whim, thickening as she commanded and sending the rest of your vision into a grey haze.
A woman with brown and white hair floated down in front of you. At first, you flinched away, scared of the fact she could somehow fly. But her eyes seemed kind, worried.
"Hey, I'm gettin' you outta here." She said. The voice that came out wasn't the soft spoken one you heard earlier.
"Why? How?" You questioned as she hurriedly untied the rope.
"We'll explain later. Grab on." She replied. Her arms wrapped around your waist as she hoisted you into the air. Panicked, you held onto her like you were going to be dropped any second. As you ascended higher, you dared look down at the scene below. With the heavy fog, it was hard to discern who was who and what was even happening. But you could still hear the shouts of your kidnappers and the scent of iron hung heavy.
The mysterious flying woman flew over the fog for a time before landing on another ship. The moment your feet touched the solid wood of the deck, you slowly let her go.
"You're safe now, sugar! I gotta go help the others. Don't wait up!" The woman said before flying off again. You turned to watch her leave but you noticed the sound of footsteps and wheels behind you. With clenched and raised fists, you turned. Only to find a ginger haired woman pulling a cart along. Inside the cart was an older man with a bald head and kind smile.
"You must be (Y/N)." The man said in a gentle voice "We have been trying to track down the crew that kidnapped you in order to rescue you."
"R-Rescue me?" You fists lowered slightly "Why?"
"You're like us. Someone with a mutation that gives them extraordinary powers."
"A mutation... Is that why I can hear the thoughts of others?"
"Correct. And myself and Jean here have the same abilities as you." The man said without even moving his mouth. You clutched your head.
"Who... Are you?" You questioned. The man smiled warmly.
"I'm Charles Xavier. Welcome aboard my crew."
