I wasn’t oblivious—at least, I liked to think I wasn’t. But when it came to her, I second-guessed everything.
It wasn’t that I didn’t think she liked me. It was just… I wasn’t convinced she liked me.
Not in the way I wanted.
Sure, she was sweet. Sure, she paid attention. Sure, she acted different with me than she did with everyone else. But was it enough to mean what I thought it meant? Or was she just like that with me? I drove myself crazy over it, and every time Morgan or Ice or Sarah tried to tell me otherwise, I found a way to dismiss it.
“You’re actually an idiot,” Morgan had told me once, arms crossed, staring at me like I was the dumbest person alive.
I wasn’t saying she was wrong.
But I needed proof.
⸻
“Yo, come look at this,” Morgan had said one day, phone in hand.
It was a video—of me and Aubrey.
I recognized the moment instantly. It was after practice, when we were all sprawled around, stretching and pretending we weren’t exhausted. Aubrey was sitting on the floor, legs stretched out, and I had dropped onto the ground next to her, practically collapsing into her side. She didn’t even react—just adjusted so I was more comfortable.
The video showed the way she barely acknowledged anyone else calling her name. Ice, KK, and Jana had all tried to get her attention at some point, but she didn’t even glance up from her conversation with me. She just kept leaning toward me, talking to me, like no one else existed.
And then—because Morgan was messy—the video zoomed in on the way Aubrey’s hand absentmindedly traced patterns on my arm.
I blinked.
“…Okay?” I said. “She was comfortable.”
Morgan gaped at me. “That’s all you got from that?”
“She was sitting,” I defended. “And I was next to her. It’s not that deep.”
Morgan’s face told me she thought I needed divine intervention.
⸻
But then there was the other video.
This one was from a random night in my dorm, where Aubrey had let me do her hair.
I was standing between her legs, focused on parting her curls, while she leaned into me with her eyes closed.
The video—courtesy of Morgan, again—caught the way Aubrey’s arms had loosely wrapped around my waist. How she ignored her ringing phone, not even glancing at the screen.
“How do you explain this one?” Morgan had asked, smug.
I had tried to explain.
“She was relaxed, plus I was doing her hair.”
Morgan didn’t even dignify me with a response.
⸻
There were the little things, too.
The way Aubrey always showed up with my favorites—drinks, snacks, honestly anything—without needing to be asked.
The way she always remembered.
The way she always paid attention.
“You ever notice how she never asks you what you want?” KK had pointed out once, after Aubrey had handed me a smoothie, exactly the kind I liked, without me saying a word.
I had noticed.
But that didn’t mean anything.
Right?
⸻
And then there was our handshake.
It had started as something small—something stupid, honestly. A quick routine we made up in between practice drills, when we were goofing off.
But at the end of it—every time—Aubrey kissed my hand.
Soft.
Gentle.
Consistent.
And still, I wasn’t convinced.
⸻
I told myself I wasn’t being dumb.
Aubrey had never said anything. She never made a move.
So how was I supposed to know?
I told myself I was being logical.
But then there was this.
⸻
“Aubrey’s outside your dorm.”
I blinked at my phone.
Morgan.
I frowned, reading the message again. I hadn’t even told Aubrey I was back from my late-night study session.
Still, I got up, slipping into my slides before heading outside.
And there she was.
Sitting on the bench, waiting for me.
She stood as soon as she saw me, pulling something from her bag.
A drink.
My favorite one.
“…You just knew I was back?” I asked, crossing my arms.
Aubrey shrugged. “I figured you’d be tired.”
I took the cup, staring at her.
She stared back, unbothered.
“You do this all the time,” I said. “You always do stuff like this.”
Aubrey nodded. “Yeah?”
“Yeah,” I said, exasperated. “And it’s confusing.”
Aubrey’s brows furrowed. “Confusing how?”
“Like—” I hesitated, gripping the cup. “Like what am I supposed to think?”
Aubrey tilted her head.
I swear she looked amused.
“Tell me what you do think,” she said.
I clenched my jaw. “I think you’re… like this with me.”
Her lips twitched. “Like what?”
“You know what,” I muttered.
Aubrey stepped closer, arms loose at her sides.
“I really don’t.”
I sucked in a breath, heart pounding.
“…Like you like me,” I said finally. “But I don’t know if I’m just seeing what I want to see, or—”
Aubrey cut me off by reaching for my hand.
Not just holding it.
Lifting it to her lips.
And kissing it.
Slow.
Deliberate.
Just like she always did.
I sucked in a breath.
“You are an idiot,” she murmured, lips brushing my skin.
I swallowed hard. “I—”
Aubrey’s other hand tilted my chin up.
My words caught in my throat.
“I do like you,” she said, voice steady. “And you know that. You just don’t believe it.”
I blinked rapidly.
“…Oh.”
Aubrey smiled.
Then—like it was the easiest thing in the world—she leaned in and kissed me.
I was (and still am) so nervous that I spent a whole week thinking about whether to send this request or not (;ŏ﹏ŏ)
How would the Omori cast react if the (reader) had simply disappeared? Like, went missing?
I'm too curious :'D If orders are closed, you can ignore this :) Have a good day/night.
OH CUTIEEE DONT BE NERVOUS I DON’T BITE😭😭 literally any kind of requests make my day so I don’t mind whatsoever!! And it’s omori so that makes it even better🫵🥳 hope YOU have a great day/night<333
Omori cast with a reader who went missing
TW: uh uh uh uh, heavy spoiler warning, also TW for Basil and maybe Mari’s writing, lots of implications what happened to y/n but it’s left for open interpretation
SUNNY:
Oh what??
You’re gone??
Like, gone in as dead??
No? Oh.
His first assumption was that you were dead(I wonder whyyyy🤨)
The question probably escaped his mouth before he could stop himself.
“Are they dead?”
“What, well.. Sunny! No, we just can’t find them!”
He wonders why Hero had hesitated.
It just had made everything worse in his head.
He can’t lose you too, but you’ve already been lost. And only by chance would you be found.
Only when he knows that police are looking for you will be then when he starts to break down, his front door will never opened by himself again.
Hell not even his bedroom door.
The cycle repeats again, without you he cannot function, without you who’s to tell him kindly to leave his bed and reconnect his past connections?
There’s no reason to leave.
It’s all hopeless.
Not even Kel could help.
In headspace is where he knows you’re safe. Where Omori keeps you with Mari and Basil so you can’t be lost again.
And even though your headspace self whines about going with the others.
Omori just can’t risk it.
Sunny, just can’t risk it.
“It’s scary being lost, isn’t it y/n?”
AUBREY:
“ARE YOU SERIOUS??”
“Aubrey relax everything will be-“
“So they’re just, gone?! Someone kidnapped them! And that someone is going to die!”
She’s so silly guys😝
You might be her 13th reason tho-
This girl is pissed.
At you?
Yeah maybe, like why did you just disappear?? She doesn’t even know herself if you did get kidnapped or not she just needs someone else to blame.
Someone that’s not you.
She doesn’t want to be mad at you, but what if you ran away? Without telling any of them? Without telling her?
That’s when she’d be mad at you.
When she sees those missing posters with your face on them it’s when everything other than rage hits her like a truck.
Sadness, yearning, loneliness, helplessness, and scared.
She never lost hope, no, she never will.
Because her feelings for your return are much greater than the feelings of expecting your loss.
BASIL:
Omg y/n is just so beautiful and sweet and awesome and might be the reason Basil logs outttt
I mean he’s kind of lost Sunny, mentally-ish, not physically and he thought that was bad enough but nope.
Apparently losing someone physically but not mentally is MUCH worse than the other way around.
And that someone issss you!
When Polly told him the news he literally knew his life-span just shortened by half.
Either by stress or himself was up to you coming back or not.
He barely leaves his room, much like Sunny.
But instead of pretending everything’s fine in his head, it’s the exact opposite.
Everytime he closes his eyes a new sight of your lying corpse flashes through his mind.
Even if he knows police are searching for you, it doesn’t help him at all, it just makes him more worried.
He’s worried they’ll find you, but not alive, he doesn’t want to go through the death of a close one again.
He can’t.
So he won’t.
His plants are dying without the water.
But Basil has enough water, it’ll fill his lungs soon enough.
KEL:
Unsurprisingly positive(?) about it🫲🙂↕️🫱
The moment Hero told him his mind was dead set on you just going for a walk.
Apparently by his logic you would’ve tooken a week long walk.
Without telling anyone??
He knows he’s wrong now, he knows your not an idiot.
Well maybe you are, he thinks.
And maybe I am too, for thinking that you’d shown up randomly one day.
Definitely would put missing poster everywhere.
But with the most horrendous picture of you like a .5😭
Hero told him to change the picture so like, people could recognize you!!!
He’ll knock on your door everyday just to be sure you’re not sleeping.
The longer your gone, the more hopeless his thoughts get.
Maybe he took you for granted?
He’ll think about all those times where he was more focused on doing something fun then listening to your words coherently.
Why?
Why does he think about this now?
Sometimes it’s better to listen to opinions of others.
And not…
He doesn’t know.
And not what?
He needs you to help him finish his thoughts.
Please.
HERO:
One time I was wondering which of the omori characters would survive a horror movie.
And I know Hero’s ass is FRIED, but he’d definitely help you survive it.
How off topic did I sound?? I’m sorry but listen😭
He’s calling the police(might I add 6 hours after you poof, gone)✅
He’s looking himself✅
He’s doing his own research✅
He’s PUTTING OFF HIS OWN EDUCATION UNTIL THEY FIND YOU OMGG✅✅✅
If he wasn’t there and it was just the others😮💨😮💨
You’ll be dead bc let’s be real 4 sixteen year old kids ain’t making a dent to help find you okay I’m sorry-
He’s very adamant about this because 1) he’s not evil, like he cares bout you ofc he’s not not going to help. And 2) he’ll probably die if he losses someone else because:
“If the police can’t do their job and just decided to let y/n rot in death or in misery then I might just be at my limit.”
“They’re doing their job Hero let’s just-“
“Kel, please.”
“Mhm.”
He doesn’t want you to end up like Mari.
Is it because of selfishness?
Because he doesn’t want to go through that grief again?
He just got back up on his feet, only for this situation to push him pack down.
Like how Sunny pushed mari down the stairs ahem
MARI uhhh pre-game event:
Shitting, pissing, crying, lying, idk anyway.
She’s scared that’s for sure.
She’ll turn into that one saying that’s like, “are we there yet”, but instead it’s, “is y/n found yet?”
Surprisingly, it takes very little time for her to start losing herself.
But not losing her hobbies, never.
In fact since you’ve been gone, she hasn’t stopped doing anything really.
“To distract myself.”
She’d say, only to be at the piano for more than 7 hours in one sitting.
She’s losing herself in her pretend passion.
Her interest in piano had faded long ago, it had reminded her of you, how your eyes lit up when she played your favorite song, how your grubby hands would press onto the keys just to admire.
But now.
You’re not here.
Maybe that’s why she keeps playing?
So that there’s memories of you?
But you might not even be gone for good.
Maybe, one day, she’ll feel a palm on her shoulder, and a small laugh when she flinches of surprise. A request for her coming from your very mouth.
Oh, hold that thought.
It’s dark out.
She can’t even see the keys anymore.
How long has it been?
Since you’ve been gone?
Since she’s been sitting here?
Maybe, time hasn’t even passed at all.
Maybe she’s just dreaming. Yes that’s it. It’s okay Mari, y/n’s fine.
“But if that’s true, then why am I wearing all black?”
Request: Could you please do a fic where the reader is new on set and is doing her "ice breaker" thing with Kathryn and Aubrey, and they decide to tickle her to make her more comfortable and make her less nervous?
You're 1/2 people on this entire app to write agatha all along tickle fics and I'm so thankful for that 🥹 I'm too scared to write my own
Note: Thank you so much for your sweet words and for this request! Kathryn and Aubrey are a dream duo, so I hope I did them justice :) Side note, I had trouble writing parts of this because I got embarrassed lol. Enjoy!!
Word Count: 977
---------------------------------------
You were on set with Aubrey and Kathryn, both recently coming in hot from their last roles in Agatha All Along. You knew they weren’t actually witches, but being around them was intimidating.
This movie was unrelated to witches, and instead you all were portraying a messy love triangle. When you heard the topic of the movie, you agreed immediately. Who wouldn’t want to live out their fantasy?
The first week on set was a little awkward since they already knew each other and were closer in age. You felt like the third wheel sometimes, but you knew they weren’t trying to make you feel that way on purpose.
You were taking a break between takes, sitting with the two of them in Aubrey’s trailer.
“So how are you adjusting, Y/N?” Kathryn asked you.
“I think I’m doing okay. I’ve never done a role like this before, so it’s a little embarrassing,” you admitted.
“Awww, that’s so cute,” Aubrey teased, as you rolled your eyes.
“It’s not cute,” you said, playfully punching her.
“Is there anything we can do to help you overcome that feeling?” Kathryn asked, gently rubbing your back.
“I don’t know. I’m just naturally shy so I think it’s my default at first.”
“I have an idea,” Aubrey spoke up.
“What?” You asked.
“Why don’t we create something even more embarrassing so that when you’re filming, it won’t seem as bad?”
“I can’t think of anything that would do that,” you said.
“Really?” She asked, standing up and sitting down next to you on the bed. With that, she reached out to tickle your side, causing you to squeal and curl up into a ball.
“Hehehey! What are you doing!?”
“I’m helping you deal with your embarrassment,” she said, giving Kathryn a look to join in.
Before you knew it, you were being attacked on both sides. You tried to fight them off, but it was difficult when it was four hands versus two. They grabbed each arm with one hand, gently pulling it towards them and away from you. They then used their other free hand to tickle both of your sides and up your ribs.
“NOHOHOHO STAHAHAP!” You pleaded, kicking your legs everywhere in a futile attempt to shoo them away.
“Are you still embarrassed from acting in a threesome?” Kathryn joined in on the teasing.
“YEHEHES!”
“I guess we’ll have to make it more embarrassing,” Kathryn said, reaching out with one finger to tickle your exposed armpit. Aubrey took note and did the same on her side. You yelped and tugged your arms as much as you could, but they had a death grip on your wrists. Your face began to turn red from all the laughing and begging.
The girls showed some mercy for now, letting you breathe, but not letting go of your arms.
“I always knew you two were evil. They don’t just cast anyone to play witches,” you huffed.
“Hey!” Aubrey said, reaching out to use her nails over your neck and ears.
“Eeeek!” You shrieked, curling up as much as you could, shaking your head from side to side.
“Aw, you don’t like that do you? Or do you?” Aubrey whispered in your ear, making you giggle even more.
“GO AWAHAHAY!” You shouted, trying to kick her again.
“With all that kicking I think Y/N is asking for some foot tickles,” Kathryn said, releasing your arm to pin your ankles into place.
“No, wait!” You sat up quickly.
“Bad spot?” They asked, skittering their fingers over your soft soles.
OHOHOH MY GOHOD OKAHAHAY PLEHEHEASE! IHIHIM DOHOHONE!”
“You think you can decide when we’re done with you? How cute,” Kathryn teased. You sat up in an attempt to push or tickle them off of you, but it backfired quickly.
“Where do you think you’re going, blushy?” Kathryn giggled, and the two of them quickly flipped you over onto your stomach.
“Is your back ticklish?” Aubrey asked, slipping her hand underneath your shirt and gently testing her nails.
You froze as your whole body tensed. There was no way you’d survive the two of them tickling you there, so you decided to try and fool them into thinking you weren’t ticklish there.
“N-nope! It feels niceee,” you trailed off, biting back a giggle.
Kathryn also ran her fingers on your back, slightly lifting your shirt up to expose more of it.
You were straining really hard now, knowing you were close to breaking. They knew too. Their fingers moved up slightly, grazing the back of your ribs. You flopped wildly, swatting at them aggressively like a cat.
“Ticklish?” They asked.
“No!”
“Hmm, I never knew how stubborn you were,” Aubrey said, now tickling near your shoulder blades.
You lost it, bursting into hysterical laughter, flopping around on the bed.
“OKAHAY ENOUGH IHIT TIHICKLES!”
You were at a loss for words now, as their nails were too quick for your brain to register. One second you felt them on your shoulders, the next they were on your ribs or dipping down to tickle your sides.
“I’d say this is more embarrassing than your acting role, wouldn’t you agree?” Aubrey asked.
“YEHEHES WHATEVER JUHUST STAHAHAP!” You begged, as they finally stopped tormenting you.
You immediately flipped back over to protect yourself.
“You’re welcome,” they said.
“I didn’t say thank you.”
“Yeah, but now you’re more comfortable with us. Anything you have to do for acting in this role with us will seem so tame compared to this,” Kathryn said.
“Plus, we now know your weakness, so I’d say that’s a bonding win,” Aubrey said with a wink. You blushed and tried to play it off.
There were still another 20 minutes before you guys had to film the next scene, so you laid in bed with the two of them next to you, making the perfect sand(witch)
; Just as life was getting tough, you could've sworn you saw flicker of light in them. They brought you hope. A hope you could rely on — with them.
a/n: not even thanksgiving but wtv.
You had just met them a few days ago. You didn't expect much from them, thinking they were some typical friend group that can easily fall apart. Except, you were invited to join them in thanksgiving. How could you say no to them? They were kind. To you. To everyone. It was too good to be true — after all, most of the groups you've seen had their downfalls.
"puh—leaasseee, y/n? it would be so much fun with you around!" Aubrey whined, she was the reason you were here in the first place. The rest smiled at Aubrey's plea. Mari let out a warm laugh, agreeing with the girl "We're not forcing you to, we'd like to get to know you better and thanksgiving is best way to do so!" Mari claimed, the others agreeing along with her. You hesitated, opening your mouth to say something like 'I can't' but you closed them before you could even say anything. "I think I could come..." you muttered, smiling at them.
"Ha! Awesome!!" — "Yay! It's gonna be so much fun!!" — "Don't force yourself to join, y/n." — "..." — "Hehe, we'll have so much memories together."
They all voiced one by one, expressing their excitement to you. The smile you gave suddenly grew.
As the hangout went on, you started to realize maybe this group was meant to be. Their shared laughs, their rants — before you could even realize, you were warming up to them.
—♡—
Going out of the house, your legs started walking by their own, heading to the house that they had told you to go to just in case if you would actually come. You couldn't help yourself, their warmth was something you craved for. Hope.
Sunny and Mari's house came to view. Mari ushered the rest in as Sunny peeked out the door, noticing you and nodded in acknowledgement. You could hear Kel and Aubrey's bickering as you came closer. "Y/n!! You're here!" Aubrey noticed, waving at you enthusiastically. "You actually came!" Kel exclaimed, grinning from ear to ear. "Y/n, hello!" Basil smiled softly. You liked him, he was usually gentle with everyone aside from Mari. You never felt such excitement before. "Mhm! Hi guys!" You returned the smiles coming from them. "Hello, y/n." Hero greeted, nodding at you. "Oh, y/n! Just in time. Come on now everyone!" Mari hummed, ushering everyone in now.
Maybe this was the warmth you've been looking for all along.
a/n: I'm not good at these.. i hope it was good! i made it short bc if i wrote further, i might mischaracterize them :(

🎻 SUNNY 🎻
Sunny wasn't one to talk much and you knew it from the start.
Sometimes, he blinks slowly whenever you tell him something nice, and that in the silent language you share, is an "I love you".
you were in the back garden of his house, he was sitting on the floor, ugging his knees and you were beside him, with a blanket on top of you two. The sky has that peach color that precedes sunset, and you just handed her a cookie wrapped in a napkin. "I made it with you in mind," you whisper, as if the air were too fragile for a loud voice. "It has almonds and a little bit of honey. I remembered you said you like it crunchy… Although yoy said it in a low voice, so I don't know if you said it or if I dreamed it.
Sunny doesn't respond right away. He just looks down at the cookie, takes it between his fingers with soul-splitting gentlenes and then he takes a bite. The smallest one. "It's delicious," he says. And you feel something warm fill your chest. Because for Sunny, that is poetry.
Then, when the sky is already tinged with blue and stars, he taps you gently on the shoulder. "Thank you for staying."
Your heart melts like marshmallow. And you just smile, leaning back a little more against him, careful not to break the spell of that moment.
And even if he doesn't say anything else, he stays with you until you get cold. Then, without looking, he spreads his scarf to cover you too.
Because even if he doesn't say it, he wants to take care of you too.
🌵 BASIL 🌵
Basil's hands tremble when someone looks at him tenderly.
That's why, at first, he avoided your gaze. Not because he didn't like you.
But because you were so sweet to him, so patient and gentle… that he felt like he was about to cry all the time. Today you're in his garden. He's repotting some violets, and you're sitting next to him with a basket of things: a small bottle of water, a pack of tissues, some tea biscuits, and a small drawing of you, smiling, of him and his flowers.
"This is for you," you say, placing everything on a washcloth beside him.
Basil blinks nervously.
"All… of it?"
"Uh-huh, I see you working so hard with your plants, I thought it would be nice to have a mini care kit. Like you do with them. You deserve to be cared for too, don't you think?" The shovel slips a little. His little face turns as red as a rose petal. He doesn't know what to say, so he just grabs the small bottle of water and holds it in his hands as if it were a treasure.
"Thank you…" he murmurs, almost a sigh.
And you smile, leaning down a little to pull a twig from his hair. It got caught as he bent down.
"There. Perfect as always." Basil freezes. His heart gives a strange little jump. As if something inside him blossoms where before there was only still earth.
And although he doesn't yet have the courage to take your hand, he offers you one of his violets.
Small, shy. But his.
"I want you to have it..."
And you, of course, stay by his side for the rest of the afternoon, letting him tell you the meaning of each flower he gives you.
And for the first time, Basil isn't afraid of silence. Because with you, even silence feels full of love.
🏀 KEL 🏀
"Ready?! I'm going to shoot it!"
Kel is standing, ball in hand, sweating in the park sun. You're sitting on the grass with a towel ready, a small bottle of cold water, and a Tupperware with cut fruit. Because seeing him happy makes you happy. And because you know that after all that running, he always forgets to take care of himself.
He takes the shot. A three-pointer.
"Whoooo! Did you see that?"
"I saw it!" you reply, clapping with such pure emotion it seems straight out of a cartoon. "You're amazing, Kel!"
Kel laughs, that laugh that sounds like a carefree summer, and runs toward you, not caring about the sweat or anything. "Come on, high five!" You give him the softest high five in the world and then, with a shy giggle, you wipe his forehead with your washcloth.
"You're such a champion, but… I don't want you to get heatstroke. Here, drink some water." He stops. He looks at you. And for a moment, it seems like the world goes silent. It's just you, him, and Kel's heart pounding like crazy.
"You're always there, aren't you?" he says, more quietly, a little nervous. "Like… like my personal cheerleader. But also like my… my safe place."
You smile at him, as if his existence is the most valuable thing on the planet."I'll always be here for you, Kel. Even if you don't score a single point."
"Hey!" he laughs. "But if you distract me with that cute little face, of course I'm going to miss!"
He throws a grape at you, you throw it back, and you both end up laughing until he forgets the game.
Because Kel realizes that with you, he's already won.
🍳 HERO 🍳
The kitchen smells of vanilla and melted butter.
The sun streams through the window, illuminating Hero's hair as he whisks a mixture in a ceramic bowl. He has his sleeve rolled up, a smear of flour on his cheek, and a peaceful smile on his lips.
You're sitting at the counter, legs dangling, a small glass of milk in your hands. You look at him with that silent tenderness of yours, which needs no words to say, "I'm happy here with you."
Hero turns to look at you, and his smile softens even more.
"Are you okay? Are you getting bored?"
You shake your head, with that look that melts even the butter in its pan.
"I'm fine. I like watching you cook. I like… being around you."
He stills. As if your sweetness has paused him for a second.
"…You have a way of saying things," he murmurs, "that makes everything feel more… warm."
You shrug, playing with the napkin in your lap.
"You're just warm. I want you to always know that."
And then, without much thought, he pushes a spoonful of raw dough towards you."Want to try? It's made with extra love."
You take it. It's delicious.
But even more delicious is the slight blush that appears on his cheeks when you say, "It tastes like you."
Hero places the bowl on the table, slowly, as if he needs a moment to process what he just heard. And then he laughs, softly. He strokes your hair with his soft fingers and places a quick kiss on your forehead. "Thank you for making this house… feel like home again."
You smile. Because you don't need much more. Just to be with him, and continue finding bits of love between spoonfuls of dough and cups of tea.
⚾ AUBREY ⚾
Aubrey isn't one to let people in.
She has a giant, invisible sign that says "No Trespassing," and a pink bat to reinforce it. But with you… with you, it's different.
She lets you in her room.
With her.
In silence.
You're sitting on her bed, surrounded by worn but cuddly stuffed animals, and you're sewing the floppy ear on her old stuffed bunny. She's sitting next to you, biting the sleeve of her jacket as if forcing herself not to say anything.
"Why are you so nice to me?" she asks suddenly, without looking at you.
You blink.
"Huh?"
"It's just… I'm rude, I get angry easily, I say mean things." She grimaces, lowering her gaze. "But you… you make me heart-shaped cookies. You hug me like you're not scared of me. You look at me like… like I'm worth something."
You finish sewing the ear and give her the stuffed animal with a soft smile.
"You're worth something, Aubrey. You're worth so much. And if you don't see it, I'm going to stay here to remind you until you believe it."
She looks at you. Suddenly.
As if she doesn't know what to do with something so pure.
And then she does what she does best when she's speechless:
She hugs you. Tight. Awkward. As if she's afraid you'll fall apart in her arms.
She buries her face in your neck and murmurs:
"Promise me you won't leave."
You don't doubt it for a second.
"I'm not leaving, Aubrey. Even if you take out the bat." She laughs, choked with tears. She squeezes you tighter."You're too good for me, silly."
And you just hug her, even tighter, knowing that in that moment, she's letting you into her heart.
Where very, very few people have been.

Prologue — Part 1
A white room with just a blanket, a laptop, a box of tissues, a notebook, and a small black cat. That was all the girl who lay in the middle of the carpet and slowly opened her eyes needed. She spent time with her friends or simply in the white space. Omari was the girl's name; her face had an emotionless expression; you couldn't immediately tell what she was thinking or what was going on inside her. And yet her friends and her little brother Sunny could. Sunny was a sweet but quiet boy. But he knew exactly what his big sister was like; every day he waited for his friends and sister on the picnic blanket. Always with a little something to eat and a chance to recover from their adventures. Yet there was a black shadow behind Omari, a shadow that always seemed to be watching her.
A dark truth that is hidden deep in her consciousness and that keeps reminding her of what really happened that night, that she has to accept and process the truth. "Omari, is everything okay?!" a female voice rang out, Aubrey's. The younger girl looked at her best friend worriedly, her eyebrows furrowed, causing light wrinkles to appear on her forehead. Omari nodded slightly and looked at Sunny, who was smiling at her. Hero, her boyfriend, sat next to her and held her hand. The warmth emanating from his hand transferred to her cold hand and made its way to her soul. The warm feeling of his hand made her lean against him and close her eyes.
Before she could remember what had happened, she woke up in white space. She knew she had to wake up; after all, it was only a few days until she and her mother would be moving to a new place. Omari looked at the knife she always carried with her, picked it up, and stabbed herself in the stomach.
...
...
A girl lies in her bed, the night casts dark shadows through the window and the moon casts a soft light on the girl's face. The girl's name is Mari and she is currently alone in the house. When she finally woke up she felt hunger rumbling deep in her stomach. As she left her room and carefully went down the stairs her gaze was caught by a picture, a boy who looked to be only 12 years old. Black hair, a motionless face but in his eyes you can see what you couldn't see in his own: joy of life. Next to him stands Mari. A family picture that gave Mari a pulling sensation in her chest, her sweet little brother Sunny.
At that moment, old repressed images surfaced in her head: black hair covering the boy's face, the slight swaying of the body hanging from a rope, and the empty eye that stared at her. Nothing but emptiness could be seen in the eye that once showed joy in life. And in front of the body stood a boy, her brother's age, his blond hair disheveled and his body trembling. He turned to Mari. His hands had just been tied to the branch with the rope, and his eyes were wet with tears running down his cheeks. Yet, a rare emotion could be seen in his eyes: disgust. She didn't really hear what he was saying; her pulse was too loud for her to understand what her now dead brother's best friend was saying to her.
Just a blink of an eye and she saw the blue light of the police and felt the warm arms of her parents around her. The next moment she was sitting in the station and had to describe what had happened: her brother had killed himself and that was what she had said. Guilt gnawed at her but she couldn't tell the truth; she was afraid to. For the first time, she couldn't think of anything positive. Even when Hero held her comfortingly in his arms, it didn't help. Aubrey cried so much that she couldn't leave Mari alone that night. Kel stood next to Hero and even he couldn't think of any sayings to lighten the mood. And Basil? He knew what she had done. He helped her so she wouldn't get into trouble, but he also regretted it. She had killed his best friend and wasn't even telling her friends the truth! When their eyes met for the last time, Mari felt goosebumps. She saw how broken Basil was, how much he was suffering and how much he despised what she had done. But she hated herself for it.
Mari was torn from her thoughts when she heard a knock and then a voice she hadn't heard in four years.
WHY? Why you two just can't stay out of troubles?? Why!? You really are-- yes, she accepts her blame into this, she was the one goofing around with you after all, but she doesn't want unecesary problems, you know? WAIT! DON'T YOU DARE MAKE THINGS WORST! Fine! If you aren't going to hear her words then maybe you have to talk with her bat
Sunny
That was fun... altought, he prefers less caotic fun, you know, fun where non of you get the risk to get hurt or hurt anyone else, but he had a lot of fun! He really likes spending time with you... what? Make things worst funnier? Hm... N-No, he is not scared... well, if you really still have energy to keep playing lets do it!

Basil
Do you want to give him a heart attack? Because if you do you are going to achive it! Its just that... he likes spending time with you, he really do! But could you two please do something less caotic and reckless? Please? WAIT! Don't dragg him into that mess! He knows you can make things funnier but please don't--
Mari

The excuse o making things funnier won't work... or, well, at least not this time, is her turn to be the responsible adult in this relasionship, you know?
Hero

A/N: Thought I'd post something Omori related while I was in school. This particular scenario has been in my drafts for over a year ( so bare with me if the writing sucks more ass than usual ) and I was never able to finish it over on Wattpad so I thought, "Why not just post the completed ones over here?". Also I must, again, apologize for the writing. I wrote this when I wasn't in the best headspace so it's probably blander than usual- 😅

Sunny stares at your retreating form with a frown on his face. This is the—what? Fourth time this week that you've skipped out on your lunch? He knows this not because you've told him ( You'd never tell him about something like this ) but because of his own observations.
At first, he thought you simply didn't want what was served to you that day or something, but after today, seeing you reject one of your favorite meals, he knew something had to be up.
And so, he grabbed your plate and followed after you.
"Uhm..Sunny, why are you following me?" You asked, now sitting down on the steps that led up to your front door, as you looked back at him. Sunny doesn't answer you and instead walks up to you, sits down beside you, and silently offers you your plate full of food that you hadn't eaten.
"Oh, that's why.." You eye the large serving of food with a look of discomfort that you try your best to hide. Even with it's pleasant-smelling aroma, you have no will to eat. To be completely honest, you barely had the energy to come sit out here—hell, you barely even got out of bed and got dressed this morning.
"I'll eat it later," You finally say, "I had a big breakfast this morning." A lie. In actuality you didn't eat anything for breakfast this morning. You don't know why, you just..simply didn't have the appetite for it.
Sunny continues to stare at you in silence, his face baring the neutral expression you had grown used to. He still holds the plate up to you despite your rejection which makes you look away. After a moment, you feel a light tap on your shoulder. You turn back to look at him only to see him holding the utensil with a small piece of food hanging off the edge of it.
"Thanks Sunny, but really, I'm not hungry. I'll just eat later." You say and to your surprise, he replies back in a small voice.
"Please.." He mumbles, "Can you eat a little bit of this?"
Sunny always preferred to stay quiet and let others—mostly Kel—speak for him. It was a habit that took time for you to grow used to and now that you have, it sounds odd hearing your voice..
"I'm not hungry.." You push but he doesn't listen, still holding the small portion of food up to your lips, waiting for you to open your mouth and consume it.
"Please eat," He says and you end up sighing. If it were literally anyone else in the world, you would tell them no again and probably leave to avoid further conversation but since it's Sunny asking- No, pleading with you right now to eat just a few spoonfuls of food, you find it hard to refuse him..
"Alright, fine. For you, I guess.." You say in an almost defeated tone, "But only a little. I'm not eating it all.."
With a nod of his head, Sunny quickly shoves the small amount of food into your mouth before scooping up another miniscule portion and repeating the step again, and again, and again until a quarter of the food was gone from the plate.
Huh, guess you were a little hungry after all..
"How could this have happened?" Is what you thought as you gazed at your knees which were slick from your tears.
You had just seen them not too long ago. You were just laughing, joking with them about dumb stuff you did as kids and ranting to them about everything that you've been going through recently and now, they're gone. It was hard to believe but unfortunately it was true. If the phone call from your best friend—who's voice was hoarse from crying—about the entire thing wasn't enough proof of that.
They were dead. You didn't even get the chance to say goodbye to them one last time. No one did..
A light knock sounds through your room. You just barely heard it. As you wipe your tears, you mumble a small 'come in' and the door cracks open just enough for Basil to slip in.
"Hey.." He whispers, a sad look pasted on his face. You glance over at him, but fail to greet him back. You can't. If you tried, it probably wouldn't be coherent anyway..
Basil walks over to where you sit on the floor near your bed and sits just a bit away from you. You don't glance at him this time.
"..I'm sorry for your loss.." He finally says. Maybe those weren't the best words to say, but that was the only comforting thing he could think of. I mean, it was better than saying nothing, right? Hopefully it was.. If not, Basil might just crawl into a hole and suffocate..
"Uhm.. I don't know if this is related, but I noticed you haven't been eating as much as you usually do.. Not that I'm saying you eat a lot! You just normally eat more than the amount you've been eating which is..practically nothing.. But that's not important right now. I mean it is but.." Basil sighs.
Why was talking so difficult?
"I.." Basil snaps over to look at you, who's eyes were glossed over with tears despite your best efforts to hide them. You hated burdening people, Basil especially. He already had so much to deal with after all, you wouldn't want to add onto his list of problems..
"I'm.. I'm fine, Basil.." You murmur, your voice sounding a bit strained as you swallowed the sobs that threatened to slip from your lips. Basil's frown deepens at the sight.
"You don't have to lie..or hide it. I can tell how sad you are.. U- Understandably so, if someone I cared about died I'd probably.." He pauses for a moment before mumbling out a small 'nevermind' under his breath.
"I know you're grieving, but you shouldn't.." He pauses again, "..I guess what I'm trying to say is.. Although you're really sad and you feel like nothing matters right now, you should still try to take care of yourself. If you don't, the feeling will only get worse and your health will go down the drain too.."
"Of course, I can't force you to take care of yourself or anything, but if you can at least start eating again—"
"I.. I get it," You interrupt, "And I know you're worried. I just..need some time."
Basil nods his head, "I get that, take as much time as you need. B- But not too much time, you can't go long without food.."
"You need to stop doing this," Aubrey grumbled as she attempted to hand you a plate of pizza only for you to glare at her.
"Eat," She says firmly after a while of silence, but you make no attempt to grab the plate of pizza. Irritation begins to bubble at the back of Aubrey's throat, but she swallows it back as best she can. She's been trying to work on controlling her anger lately since you aren't fond of such negative energy.
..Plus, it wouldn't be a good idea to shove this pizza slice down your throat, now would it?
A few days ago, you had gotten into a really bad fight with a family member. Arguments surfaced often in your family, but you're usually able to brush it off. This time, however, was different. Aubrey doesn't know what happened and you've refused to tell her the details. All she knows is that whatever it was, it made you so angry that you couldn't get over it and ended up losing your appetite for a couple days.
She found it rather dumb and backwards to starve yourself because you were mad, but Aubrey shouldn't be one to talk when she thinks back on all of the things she's done in the past due to the simple fact that she was upset..
"This is stupid," She ends up saying anyways, "You shouldn't take your anger out on your body because you're pissed off."
At this point you weren't even listening to her, looking back down at the page of the book you were reading as you made it obvious that you were tuning her out. The sight made Aubrey's blood boil.
"Eat the dang slice already before I make you," She threatens, but even then, you heed her no mind and continue with what you're doing.
Agh! Why were you being so difficult right now? She's actually trying to be a gentle and thoughtful girlfriend for once and you're acting like some brat! Why she outta—!
"I appreciate your concern for me, Aubrey, but I'm really not hungry right now," You flip to the next page of your book, a brief flap being heard as a result, "You can leave the plate with me and leave. I'll eat it eventually."
"I- I'm not worry about you!" Aubrey blurts out without thought, her face growing hot.
"Wow, tell me how you really feel."
"Wait! Th- That's not.. I didn't mean to, I.." Why was she getting so embarrassed over this? It's obvious that she cares, I mean, she wouldn't be here otherwise. Why couldn't she just agree with what you said and left? Or better yet, not said anything at all..
She mentally sighs. She really has to work on verbalizing her feelings more like you said..
"Ugh, whatever.. The fact is, I'm not leaving until you eat something.." She ends up grumbling out.
"Well what are you going to do until then. I'm telling you now that I won't be eating anytime.." As you glanced up from your novel, ready to solidify your point by shooting her another glare, you watched on in shock as Aubrey crawled onto your bed and up to you.
"..soon," You're finally able to finish once Aubrey settles herself beside you. You stare at her for a while with an unreasonable expression, simply trying to make sense of her actions before you finally ask, "Uhm, what are you doing?"
"What does it look like I'm doing?" She retorts, even going as far as to roll her eyes, "You said you weren't planning on eating anytime soon so I made myself comfortable. You have a problem with that?"
Oh. She was serious? You didn't think..
"No, I don't mind..I guess," You mumbled, a little embarrassed at how hot your face was just from the simple proximity. You tried your best to hide it by turning your head downwards a bit more, hoping that it would come off as you being really indulged in your book, but really, it just looked like you had bad reading posture..
"So.." Aubrey mumbles after a while of silence, "What's the book about? I noticed you've gotten pretty far so it must be at least a little interesting, right?"
"Oh? It's ( Favorite book/light novel ). It's really good, probably my favorite," Without your knowledge, a small smile begins creeping up your lips, "It has a lot of funny moments actually. Like for example, the main character and their friends did this really stupid thing where.."
You ended up talking Aubrey's ear off about the book for the rest of the afternoon. She didn't seem to mind it. In fact, she seemed pretty engaged in the conversation which was a bit surprising to you.
Rambling on and on about the things that you had already read a million times, you didn't even notice that you had subconsciously eaten the entire slice of pizza until it was gone..
Huh.. Who knew a good talk about something you enjoyed would make you work up such an appetite?
You absolutely despise sick days.
Because of two days. Because you missed two measly days because you felt under the weather, your entire day- no, your entire week has been fucked.
Assignment on top of assignment on top of assignment on top of a ten-thousand word essay, on top of a multi-step project that's all due in a few days. And that's only for one class! You knew it was a bad idea to lay in bed all day not doing anything, especially when you're a college student nearing the end of the year, but you had felt so bad the days prior you couldn't help yourself..
And now, you're stuck at your desk, writing away. Even though you've been at it since early this morning, you've only managed to finish one-third of all your work. This may be because you haven't eaten anything all day and your body hasn't fully recovered from being sick, but it's whatever. You don't have time to worry about yourself right now anyway..
"Hey, babe!" Hero chimed as he walked into your room. Normally, you would've replied with a small 'Hey' or something, but today, you didn't even glance at him much less speak.
"Uhm..babe?" He calls again only to get the same response; silence. It makes him frown at first, but as soon as he notices your open computer and the small stack of papers on the side of you, his frown straightens out a little.
"Would you like some help?" He walks closer, "I don't know much about this subject in particular, but I can at least.." Hero words fail as a rather loud and embarrassing gurgle erupts from your stomach--a little drawn out as it pleads with you to feed it.
"Y/n," Hero calls out, a little more firmly this time, "Have you eaten yet?" For the first time today, you finally force your eyes away from the notes you're writing and glance over at your boyfriend, who was staring at you with furrowed brows and eyes filled with worry.
It almost makes you hesitant to lie to him. Almost. You shake your head yes.
"Are you lying?" He asks, and this time, you decide not to answer him and instead look away from him, focusing back on the assignment at hand. Hero sighs.
"I thought we agreed that you wouldn't do this again.." He mumbles, resisting to spew out the lecture that sits on his tongue. You already seemed stressed out as is, he shouldn't make things worse.
And so, he turns and leaves. You don't know how long he was gone for nor did he tell you where you went, but he made it obvious of his return when he gently snatched your papers away from you and replaced it with a brown paper bag that had the logo of your favorite fast food joint on it.
"I'll give this back to you when you finish eating," He says and you fix your lips to argue with him. You can't afford to take a break after all. If you do now, you'll never get this done in time..
"These are just notes, right?" He clarifies as he grabs your laptop with his free hand, lifting it off your desk with ease, "If so, I can finish this up while you eat."
"But.." You mumble out, but that's all you really have the energy of saying. With your stomach aching, a hunger headache pounding against your skull, and the delicious smell of food taunting you, you can't really do anything besides sigh, nod, and take the food out of the bag.
As you take the first bite and the flavor hits your tongue, you hum in satisfaction before taking another bite and repeating the cycle. As this goes on, Hero watches you with a smile on his face, eventually having to force himself to look away so that he can focus on the computer screen that shines brightly in his face.
