I love writing desperate longing yearning love confessions and first kiss scenes I love it when they are just fucking yearning so much that they can't take it anymore and have no choice but to kiss at the musical swell of whatever song I decided to hyperfixate on at the time.

So I recently sold another adult audio script and this one was definitely red dead inspired. And in the notes for the Voice Actor I specified for the accent "Think Arthur Morgan or Clint Eastwood" and I get the feeling the VA either did his research or was already familiar with the game because there were a couple moments when he was talking to the horses and let me tell you HE UNDERSTOOD THE ASSIGNMENT. The horse lines were 🥵. I didn't even write them he improvised them.

Low key it makes me feel like a VA is kind of insecure when they only characters they write (or select) are super dominant cool alpha billionaire mega boss characters that are respected by absolutely everyone, and who already have everything in the world. The trope of "love interest who has everything in the world except for the self-insert MC's affection" already makes me gag on its own, but when a performer clings to that trope it makes them feel so desperate.

Trust me big dawg, you will look more confident if you throw some characters a little lower on the social totem poll into the mix. You can have character development outside of the static position of "I'm already perfect and have everything and never look uncool". Let them be broke, hate their lives, fuck up and fail because of their own stupid decisions etc. You'll do a lot better that way, I'm serious. You'll also look a lot cooler in the Listener's eyes if you let yourself be uncool once in awhile.
